I just got a fund-raising appeal from
Submitted by RuralLiberal on Sun, 04/24/2016 - 4:53pm
the Great and Powerful Orange. They asked me to send $5.00 to "help them keep fighting".
Here is the reply I sent:
Dear Michael and Will-
I probably would have contributed to "keep Daily Kos fighting", had you not decided to "fight" only for Hillary. Instead, I will send the $5.00 you asked for directly to Bernie Sanders' campaign.
Mel
Of course, my reply will fall on deaf ears. It was a petty thing to do, but I sent it because I'm just so damn tired of the hypocrisy.
Peace!

Same email
And I sent it immediately to junk.
Hahahahaha a snowflake in hell has more chance
It's not petty.
It's called "customer feedback." Kos trashed his business by his actions, he needs to hear about it.
And like all feedback, he's only hearing from like 10% of the customers he pissed off.
I really would like to give my lifetime subscription to
someone else, since it was given me by an anonymous donor.
If you wanted to be gracious,
you could probably check long-time users who have gone to the dark side, or any holdout white knights and figger out how to transfer that lifetime subscription. Bless their heart.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
I don't think it's transferable
In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see it unilaterally withdrawn in the near future.

Keep fighting for his expensive Tesla Fund
Hillary not paying enough??

Good one!
You made me laugh.

I guess that check from Brock ain't cleared yet.

Kos needs the small donations
Kos needs the small donations to lower the average donation after he cashed Brock's check!
Dag I'm lucky
About two years ago my computer died and I got a new one. I got a new e-mail address and even though I kept my registration at dkos they and the Democratic party never found me again. I get no political garbage from the Dems. or dkos. Bernie I have donated to and supported online since then so I get his campaigns e-mails but no more trash from the DNC or any Democrat anywhere. At one point in 1012 I put the DNC in my spam folder no longer do I get their crap.
I just see no reason to support or encourage the New Democratic party. I mean come on people they have sucked worse then ever since Big dog and company formed the DLC. Obama was a bait and switch trick on the disgusted with Bush vorters and it's time to stick a fork in the Democratic Party it's dead as a door nail or a dead parrot. It's an x party for liberals or 'progressives'.
I am having trouble identifying progressive with as every Dem. corporate weasel in DC and my city, state bill themselves as one. There not . It's an insult to the history of real progressives who fought hard to get real progress for ordinary people. This is not what progress looks like or democracy either.
I would have said
Ask David Brock. I hear he has some spare change available.

I also told them things, and
I also told them things, and unsubscribed from their e-mails
I will also make sure to unsubscribe from any more "Action Network" as they really, like, TOP are Establishment, status quo apparatchiks
So long, and thanks for all the fish
I unsubscribed after one of the
"Daily Kos Recommended" lists had a snide diary about Bernie's trip to the Vatican on top: "No Pope For You!" I usually deleted them without opening anyway, but decided enough was enough and I didn't need the extra clutter in my inbox.
I Did Also
Funny thing, though: this week, I again started receiving such notices. I'll try unsubscribing again, and if that fails, it will all get tagged as junk and be auto-deleted.
Vowing To Oppose Everything Trump Attempts.
Then you missed the next Recommended List email
which still had that disgusting smear piece in the list. The first one I attributed to just a fluke in the computer algorithm and let it pass. The second time I saw it I came to believe that it was intentional. That's when I unsubscribed.
You know what they say...fool me once shame on me... fool me twice....er....uh....well it means you can't get fooled again.

Speaking of fundraising...
Do you suppose the sound of panic in the air is because la Clinton is almost tapped out? Maybe she does not have enough to run the June 7 campaigns? The Pacs may be saying...hmmmm, chances are not looking so good, maybe we should hold on to our money for a bit.
As for the OS, he wants people to pay so they can "keep fighting"? I might pay for peace, not war but never, never for war disguised as peace

The last fundraising appeal I
The last fundraising appeal I got from the GOS was several weeks ago. I simply told them TOP had turned into a cesspool and would not be getting my support. Took me a while to wean myself off, but I haven't gone there in a couple of weeks!
I still go there once a day
so I can rec LieparDestin's Bernie News Roundup diary.
As soon as I've rec'd the daylights out of it, I run back here.

I unsubscribed after Phoenix Wmn English Only lie
I was as much a participant at help desk as I was on the main. I called out her lack of ethics over on HD, and unsubscribed.
PW's lie diary is when I went into withdrawal. Caught myself pacing. Weird! But, then came the Ides of March (also the anniversary of when I married my ex sociopath).
I'm better now. Thank you, c99% and all the normal people who're here. Without you, I'd feel like Winston Smith. So, thank you!
I'm banned from the site but still got the solicitation.
You can imagine how I responded.
If you don't know what you want, you deserve what you get.
OMG!
That's so ironic -- it's Hillarious!

Tons and tons of cuss words?
Wow. Look up chutzpah in the dictionary, see that solicitation to you.

I got that one a few days ago
1. They asked an anti-war person to give money to keep FIGHTING.
2. There is no 2, there is only 1.
Looking forward...
Drones are kinda cool...
But they can steal the vote away from me, they can make it so I can't vote, but they can never make me vote Hillary. I don't support lying, cheating, corrupt Republicans.

Hillary IS a Republican in Hawk's clothing
Don't I know it.
I've protested her almost as much as I've protested Cheney, Rove and Rice. Bush... well, he's a whole nuther matter.
"Love One Another" ~ George Harrison
Awesome.
This shit is bananas.
Wonder how much readership over there has declined...
You stalwart souls who actually took the time to write back to the DK fund raising appeal -- good on you. I just deleted the thing. And I do rather repent having bought a life membership back in 2006 or so.....but those were different times. Thanks to All of you here. I rarely comment but do avidly read and I Love the affirmative tone of the posts --- there is no sense of a ruling clique here, no sense that some inner circle of illuminati sneers at newcomers or condescends to the naive. Bravo, bravissimo.

Those were different times indeed
I joined in 05 after a friend of Markos told me about the site and described what its purpose was.
Back then the site was anti war and electing BETTER democrats, not settling for ANY democrat.
I remember how hard we pushed for the democrats to take back both houses and then the let down after they did.
Pelosi and her merry members promised us that if we put them in power that they would roll back the Bush abuses.
And what was the first thing out of her mouth? " Impeachment is off the table" and we are not going to do a damned thing.
Then after Obama started going back on his campaign promises, people kept saying that he was playing fucking chess and had the GOP right where he wanted them.
Then the surge in Afghanistan, the increase in the use of drones and then Libya, Syria, Honduras and Ukraine which many people there blamed Putin.
I keep reading that he's ended two wars and hasn't started any new ones.
And that he's the best president ever?
There were problems with running a campaign of Joy while committing a genocide? Who could have guessed?
Harris is unburdened of speaking going forward.
I don't regret mine
There are still a few good people over there, and I'm glad I didn't have to put up with some of the ads that brought many complaints. I even bought a couple of other lifetime subscriptions for folks who had slow connections that got bogged down by the endless ads. Don't regret that either. Got my money's worth over the 10 or so years I had the subscription. And I'm still keeping my options open to go back for a bit of schadenfreude when President Hillary takes us into some war in the Middle East that's totally unnecessary.
QUESTION:
A. If your fortune cookie warns you of future food poisoning, do you drop Chinese from your food wish list?
B. If the Flying Spaghetti Monster is going to be reincarnated, what will (s)he come back as?
C. If a Bipolar Transistor is created by two pieces of semiconductor material, either silicon or germanium, to form a simple PN-junction which are joined together into two individual signal diodes back-to-back, what sort of medication should it be given?
D. Now that Joseph Stiglitz has called the TPP the worst possible trade deal, if Hillary is elected, will she demand that he give back his Nobel Prize in economics?
Thanks for pointing that out!
After reading your post, I checked my own e-mail, and sure enough--there it was. I usually just delete stuff from The Orange One, but this time I replied simply "No."
I don't want to block them, because (if they don't delete me first) I want to keep telling them NO. Petty, I know, but a small pleasure nonetheless.
Orange emails
My particular gripe at the moment is getting these lists of diaries that are "hot reads" at the site and always at the top of the list is either an HRC diary of glee or an anti-Bernie diary. Embedded in it somewhere is a plea for money. Ack! Stop! If I wanted to read those diaries I'd go there are read them. But I don't.

Same emails arriving here
I hadn't thought of writing back instead of just deleting them, but you've convinced me they need to know why funds are drying up. Actions have consequences.
Oddly enough, I hadn't gotten any fundraising emails from them for at least a year . . . and then they started coming about a week after the March 15th edict. Now I'm getting some kind of plea every day. "Can't you help? We're falling short . . . "
Yeah. Good luck with that. My money is going to Bernie, that guy you don't want me to talk about.
Got that email. Deleted it.
While saying out loud. "Boo Freakin' Hoo. You need money? Then support a BETTER democrat than the one you are pushing now."
