Donald Trump's Campaign Jet Grounded
We've seen "The Donald's" Boeing 757 jet on display several times throughout the campaign now but face it, the 757 is a gas guzzler and a vast majority of the campaign stops along the way don't have airports with long enough or, sufficiently reinforced runways to allow a Boeing 757 to take off or land at. So the jet that Trump uses as his campaign workhorse is a much smaller, more practical Cessna 750 Citation X that seats 12 persons in comfort, with a range of 3,700 miles, a cruise speed of 604 mph, and a top speed of 700 mph, it can get him to a speech in one state, a rally in another, and be home for dinner all in a days work. The Luxurious 757 is saved for when "The Donald" needs to showboat his wealth to his adoring minions...

The FAA recently notified DJT Operations CX LLC, a Delaware based company for New York Tax Evasion Purposes, owned by Trump, which owns the Cessna 750 Citation X tail number N725DT, that the registration renewal had not been returned prior to the January 31, 2016 expiration date, along with the required registration fee of $5.00. The aircraft has been flying to numerous campaign stops with an expired registration, and most recently was used to fly to Albany on April 11th.
Trump has agreed not to fly one of his business jets until its lapsed registration is renewed, according to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. The agency had contacted the Trump-affiliated company that owns the plane, which is used by the Republican presidential candidate.
Failing to register an aircraft is punishable by civil penalties of as much as $27,500, and a criminal fine as high as $250,000 or prison for as long as three years, according to FAA’s website. Registration costs $5.
The FAA didn’t comment on whether it will seek sanctions.

It looks like the entire Trump family has trouble remembering to meet registration deadlines, Ivanka & Eric were recently unable to cast a ballot for their father in the New York Primary as they had neglected to register in time for eligibility...

Interesting turn of events
and not surprising, I think the FAA is real strict about registration anyway. That is, it's not some "plot" to keep him from campaigning, though I'll bet that is the FOX line this morning.
One minor quibble, though, is your last sentence about Ivanka and Eric failing to register on time to vote in NY. How many hundreds of thousands of others were affected by that same thing? The deadline was some ungodly date in the last calendar year, which is something no other state had done, if I understood all the stuff I read about it yesterday. I don't know, it just seems like a bad example of them being "irresponsible" with stuff like this. I mean, that might actually be the case, too, but I can't imagine there's not other examples of their Obscene Rich People Privilege you could pull from, though!
If my own father was running for public office...
And I was able to register to vote for him, I'd damn sure make sure that I did register and vote...

It was the deadline to change Party registration...
...that was last October. New voter registration or a filing a change of address was March 25, 2016 for the April Presidential Primary election...

I want my two dollars!
Ahhhh, okay....
Thanks for the clarity--I missed that part altogether.
Ummmm, so, well then....
Carry on!
I hear what you're saying
I think I'd make an exception if he was one of a couple hundred thousand in the same state, most who never expect that you have to be registered for a damn primary six months out. To be clear, it's only because the deadline is ridiculous--I really get where you're coming from otherwise.
Hell, it could be fun searching for how many other examples of these clowns being overly-privileged assholes because Don't You Know Who I AM???? There's gotta be more than two...
Yea... I Agree NY's Voter Suppression is Ridiculous...
But I guess it shows the kids aren't Republicans either... LOL
I think the best recent example of "Overprivileged Assholes" was when the "Wasilla Hillbillies" went to a keg party in Anchorage, and got into a little drunken brawl...

What a buffoon!
Of course, I am sure he is not personally "in charge" of registering the jet...some underling is probably going to be FIRED!
Incidentally, the 757 has amazing performance, and regularly operates full out of John Wayne airport in Santa Ana, main runway 5701 feet long. Smaller runways would surely work, with a light load...but yes, the Cessna is going to burn less gas.

Someone will be "Fired" for sure...
It does make me wonder if DJT Operations CX LLC is up to the tasks involved with aircraft ownership, such as the required maintenance, and inspections, with all the associated documentation, when they can't handle the basic registration...
Having worked on aircraft in the USAF, the documentation of maintenance and inspections, was quite intensive, I assume the records the FAA requires are somewhat similar. The FAA makes quite a show of what they know about the aircraft when one falls out of the sky...
They usually have all kinds of records especially when a fleet comes under scrutiny as an airline in financial trouble cutting corners, or having regular deviations in maintenance procedures. They even track areas in a particular type of aircraft where mistakes are commonplace due to a degree of difficulty or visibility, and often recommend design changes or maintenance procedure changes to lessen the chances of error.
About the only time the FAA gets caught off guard is when the use of a particular aircraft far exceeds the rest of the fleet, resulting in a learning experience. One example of this was the Aloha Airlines Flight 243 where the aircraft had a significant portion of the fuselage tear off in flight, and explosive decompression, due to metal fatigue. The aircraft had relatively low hours, but due to its service on short hops between islands had a huge number of pressurization cycles and in fact had more than double the pressurization cycles anticipated in normal service. There was a known problem and a recommended 20,000 hour inspection for the problem, Aloha had bettered the requirement performing the inspection 15,000 hours. The FAA gets caught off guard sometimes, but certainly not very often.
I do hope "The Donald" isn't flying around on an unsafe jet...
My concern however is more about who it might fall on...

a deeply stupid person. The collective IQ of the Americans, it declines, every time he opens his mouth.
The most outrageous thing is
The most outrageous thing is the fee for registration, $5.00! That's what it said in NYT. How much do you pay for your car registration?
It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves that we've been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back. Carl Sagan
Same as for my little airplane
That's kind of amazing.
