Open Thread - 10-23-26 - Free Will

Lately I find myself wandering a desert of creativity. I keep drawing a blank when it comes to writing. So I took a look at my drafts and found this that I wrote right after the last election. I originally titled it Leap Frogging the Abyss, but I changed it to Free Will, which seems more apropos with the events that have happened since the election. I also added a few paragraphs at the end to make it seem more contemporaneous. I don't know why I didn't publish it back then, but here it is anyway.

I've always been a big picture kind of guy in the sense that I don't delve too deeply in the red meat issues that have a tendency to alienate folks from one another and to entrench them in partisan party politics. When the political mind is corralled so is the vote, and subsequently another foot soldier is created in this march to sustained control. It's the free thinkers that scare them. Thus the march to censorship in this once thought as bastion of free thought, the West, and the pinnacle of the Enlightenment, the United States, exemplified by that most significant of charters, the Constitution. The Constitution that is currently beset upon by both major political parties.

Has it ever been so obvious that neither major political party will do anything substantial to right the floundering ship of state? It doesn't appear so, does it? In fact, they're taking turns walking humanity back to an anti-Enlightenment and a New Dark Age.

In my eyes, the two parties are leap frogging one another over the abyss. It's subjective reasoning, but I mark the inflection point with George Bush the Lessor's ascendancy to the anachronistic crown. Bush subsequently leaps over Clinton, Obama leaps over Bush, Trump leaps over Obama, Biden leaps over Trump, Trump leaps over Biden. Each subsequent leap further drives the march to a would be tyranny.

The agenda has really unmasked itself with the Trump-to-Biden-to-Trump administrations. Laws are flagrantly broken, the Constitution is ignored as rights are stripped away, one after another. The media and party sycophants scream to high heaven about the egregious conduct of the party in power and how important it is to elect the other team to reverse the transgressions. In reality, when the other team does regain power, nothing of substance is done. In fact, the new team builds upon the damage the old team has inflicted as We The People are slow marched into an unknown new order.

One may surmise that the end game is dictatorship. I posit we're already there, albeit not in the head of state form, but rather dictatorship by party (or those that pull the strings), interchangeable every few years.

The predominant vehicles in this march to the abyss are presidential executive orders and weaponized lawfare.

Ever notice how congress doesn't codify executive orders to law? That's by design, in my humble opinion. It leaves it open for one-upmanship by the next president, upping the ante to the next level, and obscuring the fact that the government no longer works for the will of the people, but for it's own aggrandizement in it's drive for wealth and power.

Is weaponizing the law about holding the opposing party in check, or is it about setting precedent to be used down the road against We The People, or maybe both? I'll let you decide.

Each level of executive orders and weaponized lawfare leads us further away from the ideals set forth in the Constitution and closer to some form of total control. And that, my friends, is what I perceive as the ultimate goal, total control (think digital IDs, ubiquitous data centers, etc), as we inch closer and closer to the edge of economic collapse and civil unrest, and the end-game.

I wont pretend to know the future, but the trajectory we're on is rather obvious. Will it be the blue team or the red team that takes us there? Does it really matter at this point in time?

Philosophers talk a lot about free will. That concept is looking rather dubious, in a big picture kind of way.

We've been fooled that the voting booth exemplifies free will, as if our vote will change the future. When in reality it will be the voting booth that seals our fate.

this is the point where you get to exercise your free will and tell us what you think, while we still can.

went into a voting booth to cast her choice
and the machine flipped her vote from R to D
(or vice versa?) 3 times. She continually had to
correct her ballot. That would suggest the voting
machine has its own form of free will. And we think
voting makes a difference? Check your ballot if you can.

"Dolly Parton’s sister, Stella Parton, says a Tennessee voting machine repeatedly switched her selection to Republican Marsha Blackburn, forcing her to correct her ballot THREE TIMES before voting. She’s not alone. Other Tennessee voters have reported .."

Zionism is a social disease

@QMS
are programmed to do that. We've been hearing stories like that since electronic voting became a thing.

Our elections have devolved into a contest of cheaters, on both sides.

Elections are like everything else these days, a scam.

Caveat emptor.

Just a slice of her latest...

"Americans are legitimately confused about who runs our foreign policy, and which conniving pig in a capitol is playing Daddy this week. Our no-longer-scary expeditionary military is the only military we have – there is no “homeland defense” unless you think a plumber with a Cherokee grandfather jerked out of the Senate to run DHS, lead ICE, and manage and maintain a domestic network of fusion centers that also host the rest of the national security state meets that criteria. I don’t."

Democrats using lawfare to thwart him?

"The Department of Justice sued to prevent Alaska state officials from certifying election results if Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan loses in November, an escalation of the Trump administration trying to use the power of the federal government to influence the midterms.

"In a lawsuit filed Thursday, DOJ argued that the presence of an independent candidate also named Dan Sullivan constitutes a purposeful effort to mislead voters."

We'll still have democracy, except it'll be handed over to AI "super intelligence", since obviously we're too stupid to pick our leaders. I hear AI has a very good relationship with voting machines software, so no need to hack them.... or maybe that's already happened?

@Snode
but this system was hacked long long ago.

I think we would be naive to think that the richest most powerful country in the world would be left up to the citizens to pick the leaders. There's too much at stake for the monied class to let that happen.

All they've needed to do is to convince enough people that their vote actually means anything.

It's a shit sandwich with one side made of blue bread and the other side red. The shit part of the sandwich is the less than lackluster candidates that are selected in advance and are nothing more than highly processed and indigestible fakery.

Or so say Larry Johnson and Lawrence Wilkerson.

Larry tries to cheer me up: "I think we very much could see the rise of a viable third party..." it's around 44 minutes.

@Cassiodorus
a third party is only as good as how deeply it's been compromised.

Shopping day, mostly done, infusion day with the promise of a long walk to and from the pickup right down where the low hanging clouds are the darkest, Read all of California's ballot propositions yesterday, madness. We have so-called free elections in that you have a choice between candidates that you had no meaningful choice in selecting unless you have one helluva fat wallet. !Vote Uniparty! At least we get paper ballots, so the fuckery starts after they've been completed, not while they're being completed.

Nonetheless, regardless of the topic, the title requires the following message.

So, I am in the habit of showing up for my infusions early in case there is a cancellation and I get in early which means I get out early which means I get to have a nice glass of vino before we head out for dinner (we always go out for dinner on infusion days because my wife, bless her, thinks it wrong that I should have to either cook or do dishes on those days.)

be well and have a good one
