If you haven't noticed from my writings the past few years - Oregon has an on going presence of violence in daily life - it originates from both nature and humans. Impossible to ignore.
It is interesting to follow the path a story travels through the news sources to push narratives. The actual event about 5 minutes from original reporting to police and shooter permanently stopped. Probably less than 20 minutes total from when shooter first was spotted.
Now watching the political spinning which started yesterday - we have some close races happening in our gerrymandered congressional district and governors race.

No hint at new gun control laws yet. She is in a very close race, ballots arrived in the mailbox yesterday and the shooter was stopped by citizens. No telling which voter group would be motivated.

The local guy who shot the kid shooter is a carpenter. On his way to work, he drove by the school, heard shots, went in and ended the shooting. The police were all standing behind their vehicles and outside the school's parameter fence.
His 2 daughters attend that school.

Imo this is a kind of racist stereotyping culture war thing. I had not heard this before in terms of marketing. It came up in one of Chris Norlund's recent youtube videos. He was criticizing the new press secretary's "member of the bar," bruhaha. I thought her dismissal of the issue was kinda weird. Norlund associates her with the kind of small world network of insiders like Gingrich, Lucky, and Gaetz. Maybe I'm ignorant I didn't catch the direct connection. How about those Chinese toilets?
I don't want to get too distracted by this. It struck me as ironic only because years ago someone in Busan called me a "monkey" on the street on one of the rare occasions when I went there. It was obviously just a racist insult in that situation. I surprised myself at the time, because I understood what he was saying even though my Korean was very limited. I think in the Chinese context mentioned it's more of a token white thing in the commercial context to suggest that one is running a cosmopolitan or upscale type of business. In the case of the "man from glad" looking white guy advertising mattresses all over China at one point, I get the advertising message, I think. I guess it's somewhat akin to buying way overpriced designer bags with French brand names.
