It Began when Simon Bolivar kicked the Spanish out and distributed land. Following Bolivar's movement, Hugo Chaves continued the efforts to improve conditions for indigenous people.
These were socialist practices applied thru-out the rural areas of the country.
"As part of the Nicolás Maduro government project called “Patria Grande del Sur,” the goal is to strengthen agricultural and livestock production using an agroecological approach."
The farmland is held collectively, with harvests distributed equally. Crops sold fund the needs
of the collective with housing, healthcare, irrigation and education. They avoid the capitalist
structure of monetizing commodities for extraction. We would benefit from this approach.
This is called extra-territorial farming. Taking advantage of wet conditions, Iran is investing in the
agricultural segment of Venezuela to address their food security issues during drought conditions.
In the trumpet regime's designs on Venezuela and Iran it is obvious his desire to control South America is off kilter. Other countries are investing in client states development while we only
want to build military bases and steal their oil. It's the American way.

Any country with resources that wants to help their own people instead of allowing the US to rape their country must be attacked...with sanctions, the CIA, and finally our military. I can't help but admire Cuba who has dealt with our interference for decades.
I think TPTB fear socialism might really work well. We can't have that, so we interfere to insure it will fail.

Good morning Cap'n Q. That's a very interesting concept -
community gardening on a huge scale. Here and there, at times ag cooperatives have existed in the US and possibly some still do. The fun part is the extra-territorial farming. Using the "community gardening" analogy, it seems to be taking cognizance that we humans are, or at least should be treated as, a global community. It definitely breaks down borders, very much opposite to the workings of the capitalist model which is, at its root, merely exaltation of the first thieves.

That's the first I have heard about cross border community gardening. Such an interesting concept.
When I grew up, and this county of 80% agriculture economy, we all pitched in to grow food a hay for livestock.
Well, I always felt that Islam would clash with our culture and laws.
In 1996, we passed a federal law making female genital mutilation a crime. Recently, a dr. was charged with violating that law on numerous 6 to 8 year old girls. The federal judge tossed the case due to our Constitutional guarantee of freedom of religion, and because parents and drs. can make health decisions for children without government intrusion.
The dr. is still licensed, Islam won.
This happened in Michigan, but may now come to a community near you.
