My daughter called and said one of the creeks around here was flooding, but the homes are raised up several feet above the flooding creek. She was calling to make sure we weren't flooding over here. These homes aren't raised as much. The real concern to me is the high tides when the hurricane passes, the WX report says tides here will be 3' above normal. That tends to block drainage out, and increase the risk of flooding even miles inland. Over there on the East Coast they are just getting way too much rain. I heard the St. Johns was flooding, and saw deep water in the streets in JAX.

They live quite a distance from the Gulf, but the storm will most likely tract over the holler, which should make for some high winds and mucho rain.
We vacation in that area and I wouldn't want to be there during a hurricane.
