Still growing abundance
Good morning everyone.
And a fine morning it is at 61 degrees and overcast skies. No wind. Should make the firefighting a little easier.
Harvesting here in suburbia continues with two very prolific Roma tomato plants heavy with ripe fruit. So heavy they are falling over from the weight of firm red tomatoes. I will be giving away most of them to neighbors and friends as most of my family are now growing their own, I just gave them the starts.
I have successfully infected them with the gardening bug.
Yay!
Hard to believe these plants were nearly frozen to death with a late frost. But I nurtured them back to health and they are thriving. I can remember most of the lower branches were frost bitten and turning brown, but the new growth at the top was still green and vibrant. So I decided to keep them in the ground and trim the dead limbs off a little at a time.
Success!
I wasn't real worried about it as I had 12 more plants at the farm that I had planted a few days after the surprise frost. When we left there last Wednesday they too were heavy with green fruit.
Most of that will probably go to the local food bank.

Just working on 'maters this season. Dong good for the most part.
3 plants, one is shriveling in a certain section. May do a prune.
Growing inpatient with the trumpet plant. Now he comes out with
the Strait of Hormuz is a possession of the US. He needs a mega
dose of reality. Everyone knows that is not true. So why does he utter
such patently false statements? It's embarrassing to watch. Oh well.
Perhaps his 'advisors' over at Fox could clue him in?

Good morning e1, out doing errands all morning.
We have been harvesting a bumper crop of tomatoes, but no Romas. One year we had a pretty good crop of Romas which we froze for making sauces, but since them all attempts at growing Romas have fizzled, few and tiny, don't know why. Haven't really checked the news yet today except the Guardian's "First Thing", which i minimal. Next on the agenda is to skim a fefw real sources and then get to work on my regular Tuesday Chores.

I went to that concert. They had been doing a lot
of studio work because the sounds they wanted were best made electronically. Then with the advances in synthesizers they were able to do live concerts. If we are talking about the same concert I remember the flick your bic throughout the audience. It was magical.

two of the tomatoes are dying
but the rest are okay. Chilies are producing except for this one plant; I only planted six tomoatoes and six chilies. I wasn't very economical with what the cherry tree gave everyone this year. The peach tree in the front produced a lot but they decayed rapidly so you had to eat them quickly. The peach tree in the back is now's the time. The apple tree produces but I am discouraged.
This week I am trying hard to keep this plot watered -- it is so dry in southern Oregon now -- that will hopefully sprout a lot of mustard greens.
