Cranking up the smoker today. Bought an extra turkey at Thanksgiving, and it is about time to use it. Put a pork butt on top to baste the turkey as it cooks. To my mind a smoker is the crock pot of outdoor cookery. We'll share them with friends over the long holiday weekend.

We have several around here in the cape environs.
Heavy, beamy and stable. They don't go to weather
all that well, being cat rigged, but easy to sail and
comfortable, albeit slowish. Always a trade-off.
Like your pork / turkey method on the smoker. Good to
cook outdoors this time of year. Keeps the kitchen cooler.

I visited the capital city, St. Paul, on my one trip to MN. I missed the good stuff, apparently.
My tee shirt of the day features a portrait of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the picture of a giraffe's head. It reads,"If you can't climb it, drink it." I did my part by gazing at the mountain in the distance, while guzzling Kilimanjaro beer. At some point, I visited a giraffe sancuary, fed a baby giraffe, and the baby thanked me with a kiss on the lips.
I spotted a leopard, completing the safari's goal of seeing The Big Five, and all the guides treated me to beer for the rest of the safari.
Good times, Cap'n. Good times.

I think it is a fake. Among other things, at one point, roughly where I stopped watching it, Alexander says "How has Washington and Israel responded" and I'm pretty certain that the real Alexander would've said "How Have ...", beyond that, it really just doesn't appear to be Alaxander, or, taken as a whole, sound like him and it starts with no prefatory intro.

His posture is off, the real Alex kind of hunkers down on his elbows and leans in to the camera. And I've never noticed him talking so fast. He usually kind of drones on ( one of the reasons I don't usually finish his podcasts), and it's just off a little.

I listen to frequently. Alex Krainer has at least one. There are others. This one of Alexander M. is a fake to my eyes. What I notice about most of them is a kind of air brushed look to their normally craggy faces. His speech is way too fast and not halting or filled with his normal "tics".
Once I caught on it got easier to spot. But I mess up and kick myself for wasting time once I figure it out.
