OT WE 22 APR 26 ~ Going down?

Today in 1970 the first ever Earth Day was celebrated. Conceived by Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson
in 1969, it was modeled after the teach-ins during the Viet Nam era. The movement has spread to
192 countries involving over 1 billion people, making it “the largest secular day of protest in the world.”

On this date in 1724 Emmanuel Kant was born in Prussia. He was a teacher that developed a newish
philosophy during the Enlightenment. Synthesizing rationalism and empiricism, he dabbled a bit in
logic and metaphysics.
"Metaphysics is a dark ocean without shores or lighthouse, strewn with many a philosophic wreck."

So the tit-for-tat games continue during the fake blockade.
First USN shoots an Iranian ship, then Iran shoots 2 western
ships in response. All this during a 'ceasefire' which is not
anything of the sort. Where this leads depends on USreal
moves. It is becoming clear 'winning' is a deception made
for the domestic TV audience pushed by the MSM. Oh, well.
You can draw your own conclusions. The entertainment value
is something at least. Watching Bibi hang his trumpet out to
flutter in the wind is a pathetic show of weakness. Sheesh.
Zionism is a social disease
Good morning...
Happy Earth Day! As an Earth Science teacher, we made it into an holiday...usually outside and involving planting something different from year to year.
Speaking of going down, no doubt the economy is going down. Week to week in the grocery you can tell...cost more and more for less and less. Yesterday at trade day we discussed the falling price of gas down from $3.70 to $3.20 - 3.40, and how quickly we were indoctrinated to $3+ gas.
Well, everyone have a good day, and thanks for the OT!

within the western vernacular? A rhetorical question,
but an explanation as to how the west has dug a hole
of which they can not climb out of. Political suicide is
a mild way to answer this question. Apparently, since
the empire is going down, this is an attempt to
share the responsibility of US mistakes.
Now that the gulf money flow is drying-up, the national debt
is becoming the 800 pound elephant in the room. Is Iran just
another distraction of empire failure?

Good morning Cap'n Q. Sitting here using foot roller during
major serious rain. Going down, down, down, as in sinking, no doubt. Must get to errands including some shopping whilst prices seem to rise hourly. Yeah, not going down but got that sinking feeling:
be well and have a good one

Think this is one of the better versions of above.

Maybe original and milder on the ears. Beck and company.

In Zero Hedge news this a.m., a law firm apologizes for 40 mistakes its AI partner made in a court filing….

Anya!
Did you intentionally and knowingly ruin my lunch?! Lol!
I was sent notifications of 2 new continuing legal education courses: The importance of incorporating AI into your Legal Practice; Improve earning potential by utilizing AI.
Seems to me that if you use AI, work fewer hours, you would decrease your billable hours substantially.
If I were a Texas legislator, I would get a bill passed that made use of AI in the legal profession automatic grounds for disbarment and make such use a crime.
Aww, I am just hallucinating...

A losing battle?
You could run for office in the state legislature and fight against AI use in law, after closing your law office. But forces would be against you, I think. In an interview I heard a few months ago, a man stated with conviction that AI would eliminate all jobs pertaining to legal research in the near future. He claimed that already you couldn’t tell the difference between documents prepared by AI vs. legal professionals. He had me convinced until you started writing about it.
Anya
AI pleadings look professional.
Case citations are done in perfect form. Suppose a motion to suppress in a criminal case to keep a weapon out of evidence says it is a standard in a Texas Criminal Appeals Court in State of Texas vs. Joe Blow, (citation), stating "IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES, A SUPPRESSION OF EVIDENCE IS WARRANTED." When you look up the case in court records, no such case exists, no ruling exists, so what happened is you told AI exactly what you wanted, and to please you, it gave you a non-existent case and ruling.
More and more lay persons think purchasing AI as their lawyer is cheaper and better than the real deal. I have seen divorce petitions based upon a spouse dissing the other spouse, therefore lifetime alimony is demanded. Dissing a spouse is not a grounds for divorce, is not relevant evidence at trial, we don't have alimony in Texas, and our post-divorce spousal support has a limit of 10 years.
I will not even allow a consultation with anyone who walks in with an AI doc in their hand that they produced.
Anya, it is a very slick way to get rid of our first line of defense against government overreach---lawyers. "The first thing we do is, let's kill all the lawyers..." Henry IV, Part II

The good and the bad.
Good: Tucker Carlson apologizes for having supported Trump.
Bad: He and his brother are still way creepy.

If in fact that this is accurate it goes a long way to explain
recent events.
UPI picked up on this
I saw reports on this story in the South Korea media earlier today. So I looked if it was being reported in English anywhere.
USFK commander says THAAD remains in Korea, 'munitions' await move
I think it's worth it to read the whole article, if you're so inclined. The gist of this really is, we didn't move any THAAD systems, we just removed the radars and now we're ready to move the ammunition (meaning missiles). It's not the quantity of US forces, it's the capability, etc. The latter implies a drawdown is in the cards (but it won't change capability). I interpret this as suggesting the South Koreans won't get OPCON anytime soon.
This guy on CNN was pretty good on the math problem, I'll call it-
