Revised Immodest Proposal
Original text from May 2025
The original Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776 -- its 250th anniversary takes place on July 4, 2026. Virtually nobody in the country is satisfied with our society, but we are mainly at each others' throats about what is wrong or how to address it.
My own dissatisfaction is mainly about the absurdity of our politics. The two parties are in a non-stop booger flicking contest about who is more corrupt, trying to put each other in jail as they agree on most major issues. Both parties favored the policy set during Obama's term that led to sending humongous amounts of weaponry to Ukraine. Both parties are on board with Isreal's war on the people of Gaza. Both parties oppose Medicare for All.
The Democrats say they are fighting Trump as they shadowbox for the cameras putting out the constant message that they do not like what Trump is doing. Since they control neither House of Congress, there is nothing they can do about His Orangeness other than fuss and fume about how they are fighting against him with the full measure of fussing and fuming.
Speaking of Congress and the Federal Government, I just looked up how much it costs to influence Congress and the Executive Branch. Wiki on total campaign expenditures. From the year 1998 through 2022, total costs came to $81.9 Billion.
Politicians have to raise that kind of money to get elected. That is why nothing ever changes in the Federal Government, other than individuals getting fired.
We the people can resist. We know we are getting conned by the two party system which is for sale to the highest bidder. This con job keeps us separated into rival cults of personality.
We need to reunite as a society.We need a new set of self evident truths for our disintegrating society.
I suggest that there be a March on Washington on July 4,2026 to present the Declaration of Interdependence to the White House and the Congress and the Supreme Court.

I think the project should now be a match on the White House to demand that Trump resign.
It's too late or this to be a July 4 affair.
So it could happen even sooner as the frustration with the All Time Stoopidest War will build as the cease fire bullshit bumbles along with a torrent of fresh yet transparent lies.
Instead of being bummed at how stupid our fellow citizens are, we ask everybody, "Do you want to see more people die for Trump's egomania?"

the idea of holding a carefully worded placard for whatever
goes on July Fourth. 250 years of failure is enough. Perhaps
an updated constitution is in order? Keep the 'good' stuff and
refine the rest. Restrict the fed, get money out of politics, etc.

The shadow boxing Dems offered nothing but huffiness rather than resistance.
Non-violent civil disobedience was a realistic tool against white supremacy. I grew up in Dallas, Texas, where the schools and public restrooms were strictly segregated. That was an earlier version of Trumpism -- self-righteous government mandated thuggery. For over 180 years we were dishonest about "liberty," denying it to unwhite human beings.
We do not HAVE TO BE murderous savages like Trump and his sponsors expect us to be.
But we will have to DO rather than talk resistance. It can be done. All we have to do is stand up against murder.
If a majority of our fellow citizens insist on following Trump into the grave, I am not interested in hanging around with them.
We are not so bad off yet. Trump is pissing off the majority.

Who will impeach?
It may be easier to persuade Republicans to impeach Trump than it would be for Democrats. He’s lately turned with a vengeance against former MAGA supporters. In addition to MTG, there’s Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, Megyn Kelly. Someone commented that Republicans will lose the Midterms with him still in charge and the Democrats want to run against him.

The elected dems have prospered in the Money Politics of the 21st Century and they are part of the problem. We don't ask them, we tell them to stop this war and banish Trump from power. When they laugh in our faces, we engage in civil disobedience, like the Canadian truckers employed a few years ago.
OTOH, Ghandi and King both got assassinated.
