Crypto Trump

I don't believe in getting my panties in a bunch over Donald Trump and his sponsors. The world is going to hell in the proverbial hand basket and Trump and his irrational deeds are symptoms of exploding global chaos rather than its engineers.

Whatever his real role in history is, whether as tool or dictator in command of capitalism, he is turning himself into a joke that even his most ardent MAGA fan boys and fan girls can get:

Mind-blowing': Trump acts clueless when reporter corners him on corruption—until he won't shut up and unknowingly rambles into a confession

President Donald Trump is once again under scrutiny over foreign money flowing into his family’s cryptocurrency business, and his response to potential emoluments clause violations followed a familiar pattern — feigned ignorance, internal contradictions, and an insistence that critics simply don’t grasp his brilliance.

Pressed on whether overseas investors were enriching his family while he occupies the Oval Office, Trump dismissed the concerns as “ridiculous,” insisting he has no involvement in the venture even as he defended it at length as an innovation the country can’t afford to lose. As he spoke, his denials repeatedly clashed with his own public statements and disclosures tied to the project, turning his attempt at deflection into a self-inflicted stumble.

Rather than directly addressing the constitutional issue at the center of the controversy, Trump pivoted to grievance, framing the scrutiny as yet another politically motivated attack and casting himself as a victim of unfair treatment. The more specific the questions became, the more abstract his responses grew.

“Well, I don’t know about it,” Trump said, despite the deal involving his own family business. “My sons are handling it. My family is handling it. And I guess they get investments from different people. But I have all I can handle right now with Iran and with Russia and Ukraine and with all the things we’re doing. So I don’t know exactly other than I’m a big crypto person. I’m the one that probably helped crypto more than anybody. Because I believe in it.”

Only then did Trump reach for a familiar fallback — warning that if the United States doesn’t move forward on cryptocurrency under his leadership, other countries will. In particular, he invoked China as the looming threat, suggesting that any attempt to rein in his family’s business would amount to handing economic dominance to America’s chief rival.

/snip/

Crypto, now that I see Trump's endorsement of and profiting by crypto, is a crock, just like Trump. Crypto currency is imaginary money that you buy in hopes of selling it later for real money.

I advocate ridicule and a focus on the Trumpian Adventures in obvious bullshit that he and his friends cannot come up with a better reposte than, "That's just liberal crap."

"I'm a big crypto person." The most truthful comment in this asshole's public life.

Pam Bondi Created A Hilarious New Meme With Her Ridiculous Epstein Hearing Comment

According to BuzzFeed

At the Epstein hearing last week, Attorney General Pam Bondi was questioned about the selection Epstein files that were included. House Democrats pressed her hard on why she hadn't indicted any of Epstein's billionaire clients.... and Bondi responded with a line no one saw coming:

"The Dow is over 50,000!"

she said, referencing the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

The hearing had no shortage of yelling, name-calling, and meme-worthy moments, but Bondi's outburst quickly gained immediate traction online. Bondi asked onlookers why in the world they were laughing. She rattled off a few more stock market stats, then concluded, "That's what we should be talking about!"

Today, in forums around the world, Bondi's meme multiplied:

The internet wasted no time turning "The Dow is over 50,000" into a go-to response for dodging literally any uncomfortable situation, or when you want to deflect personal failures.

.

Even The Atlantic has joined the trend, posting headlines that fully reveal the failing US Empire:

A new ruling from the Trump administration says:"When the sun disappears at night, we don’t know where it goes." All remaining top scientists have been taken from their positions and tasked with getting to the bottom of this.

.
The Atlantic Daily:

THE ‘YOU CAN’T FIRE ME—I QUIT’ PRESIDENCY
Trump has a pattern of taking radical steps to deal with what he says are serious problems—and then walking away once he encounters pushback.

@Pluto's Republic He started this term with a nice sounding putdown of Zelensky:

Driving the news: "A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. "I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered."

That was then. This now. Talk is cheap and Trump talk is worthless.

Is Bondi insinuating the Dow is up
because of Epstein? Same real mental
contortions involved there. Perhaps she
is competing for the Kallas title.

@QMS after which it's no longer as funny. As for Bondi, she was cornered by Congress on the Epstein files, and the Dow quote was her response.

@QMS

People have been generally unhappy with the way Bondi and the rest of Donald Trump's administration have handled the release of the Epstein files.

And, it seems like this tension between Bondi and...everyone else came to a bit of a boiling point during the House Judiciary Committee's hearing on Justice Department oversight.

Pam Bondi: Shocking and Hilarious.
No DC Hearing will ever be the same.
It was a free-for-all.

The US is finished.
From this point on, we will just be faking it.

I honestly don't think there is anything left in the US worth discussing.
Not for me, anyway,.

I think you figured that out really early

...about the punch-line.

I didn't expect it to end in ridicule. An isolated bully, hiding on dark side of the planet, terrorizing the indigenous Americas.

And I sure didn't expect Europe to become such complete fools. I thought when the EU became a Union, they would grow together in stature and achieve noble advances in civilization. Working together, they would shape the modern parameters of a worthy civilization for the future of humanity. Instead, they recycled their Neo-NAZIs to lead them nowhere. Two thousand years of wars, and cruel feudal injustice, and religious nonsense had broken them. Europe was never a real civilization, and it could never become one in an enlightened world.

Punch-lines and after-thoughts.

Stephen A. Smith Offers Strongest Hint Yet at White House Bid

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) ESPN personality and podcast host Stephen A. Smith has for months flirted with the idea of running for president in 2028, but on Sunday, he offered his strongest signal yet that he may enter the race.

Appearing on CBS News Sunday Morning, Smith said he is giving “strong consideration” to seeking the Democratic nomination ahead of the 2028 general election.

“I will confess to you: I’m giving strong consideration to being on that debate stage for 2027,” Smith told CBS host Robert Costa, referring to the first primary debate.

“I’ve got this year coming up, 2026, to think about it, to study, to know the issues, etc., because I don’t know everything. But I am going to spend this year thinking about that before I make a decision as to what I want to do,” Smith added.

Costa jokingly responded that Smith had “only had a few thousand debate practices over the last few years, right, every morning?”

The ESPN host replied, “I’m not worried about a debate one bit. Not even a little bit.”

“I hope somebody from the Democratic Party steps up. I hope I light a fire under them and get a more qualified individual in this mix, so people can stop asking me this stuff and I can enjoy my life,” Smith said during an interview on Fox News’s Hannity in April 2025.

Smith’s talk of a presidential bid has been well-received even by President Donald Trump.

“I love watching him. He’s got great entertainment skills, which is very important. People watch him,” Trump said during a NewsNation town hall in 2025. “I’ve been pretty good at picking people and picking candidates, and I will tell you, I’d love to see him run.”

@fire with fire @QMS
In the context of GOP 21st Century politics, Bondi is saying that the stock market is more significant than Trump's little scam with crypto crap. As big-time scams go, this one is actually quite modest. Well below a billion bucks to his sons.

She implies that it's self-evident that Trump made the Dow hit 50K for no comprehensible reason, just Trump magic. She is saying that "we" should be talking about the Dow rather than how Trump cons money out of chumps.

Personally, I think his conning of fat cat investors is the least of his flaws as a human being.
