Friday Night Photos Busy Bees Edition

Happy Friday everyone. Welcome to Friday Night Photos your once a week escape from the day to day insanity of the world we live in. Post any photos, memes, music or whatever else you find of interest that helps tune out the madness.

Went grocery shopping this morning. 1 lb ground beef $6.99. 1 doz jumbo eggs $6.99. 1 gal whole milk $4.99. 1 lb bacon $11.39. 7 oz package swiss cheese $6.99. 48 oz jar of mayo $10.49. I'm glad I'm only shopping for one. Can't even imagine how large families get by. At least the weathers been nice (sunny and mid 80s) and will continue to be nice through next week.

Since the weather has been nice I finally got out with the new macro lens and photographed the honey bees that have been visiting my Rosemary plants. I mixed in some shots of a White-faced bumble bee I took a few weeks ago with a long (600mm) lens while out photographing birds. It was a good thing the bumble bee showed up cuz I didn't get any decent bird shots that day.

RIP Catherine O'Hara

Sad day today with the passing of a great comedic actress. Loved her in Beetlejuice and Best in Show. 71 years young. Far to soon to leave us.

Your bee shots are buzzy, and make me almost dizzy. Can you please tell me what I am seeing, that looks like a sack of honey attached to the bee in multiple photos? The music is great.

Bug shots. At least, these are beneficial/good bugs.

Great photos, too. Which one is the white-face bumblebee? Well, at least they aren't bloodsuckers (mosquitoes), or scary looking (spiders). Right now, we in ECFL are bracing for a hard freeze. Haven't had one in quite a few years. I'm hearing the usual bellyaching from a few natives and non-natives. LOL. My krewe is prepped, homemade soups, heat and all. I just can't wait to see what surprises Climate Change/Mother Nature will have in store for us this Storm Season /s. I hear ya, Sp, about the inflation/price gouging at the grocery store. No surprise when you consider the source. Everyone stay safe. Rec'd!!

I miss labeled the bumble bee. It's a White-headed, not a white-faced. It's the one on the yellow blossoms in images 2,4,6,and 8. Throw an extra log on the fire (do you even have fireplaces in Fla ?) and stay warm.

that is an actual problem in southern Fla

most of the houses have no heating source
so when it dips down, standing above an electric stove
is about all they have. I know, as my brother lives down
there (Plantation) and have experienced this phenom.
Extreme climate swings require extreme prep if comfort
is the goal.

@Socialprogressive We live in a fully renovated, small, FL "Cracker" home. It does have a fireplace, but we sealed it off. We have electric central ac/heat. We also have 2 modern small space heaters, and follow all safety guidelines. FL really is the wild, wild, west state with all the corruption. That includes building codes. We rely on our smarts and basic common sense. Both Hubster and I have always been very politically informed. The white-headed bumblebees really stand out. They're pretty as well as beneficial bugs. Great LP, QMS!!
