Album of the Week 1-17-26
Submitted by joe shikspack on Sat, 01/17/2026 - 3:00pm
Afternoon folks!
This week we're starting in Chicago with albums from two great artists, guitarist Otis Rush and a compilation album from Sonny Boy Williamson (2 - Rice Miller for those paying attention in the cheap seats.) After that, it's off to Louisiana for a compilation album from Buckwheat Zydeco and then a great live album from New Orleans' Funky Meters. We finish off with a recent album of prog rock from the band Nektar.
Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!

afternoon qms...
heh, the good thing is that you don't have to choose.
have a good one!
Aside from Zydeco being so unique
and so damn cool, maybe it is my life of hearing it, seeing live bands with friends and relatives I have outlived. Oh, and it could be the place...Louisiana, where I used to go all the time, and where my maternal grandparents came from, or something...
Thanks for the Buckwheat Zydeco, and my La La is here, no waiting!
