Friday Night Photos Silver Edition
Happy Friday everyone. Welcome to Friday Night Photos your once a week escape from the day to day insanity of the world we live in. Post any photos, memes, music or whatever else you find of interest that helps tune out the madness.
Last month I replaced my old macro lens with an updated version. I finally got around to trying it out this week. Since the Rosemary in my backyard is blooming like crazy right now the plan was to photograph the bees that are attracted to the blossoms. Unfortunately we had scattered showers most of the week. Even when it wasn't raining it was to windy for macro photography. So I moved inside and tried out the new lens on a few of the silver coins I picked up as insurance for when the dollar goes bust.

I don't feel wealthier but I do feel a little more secure. I've always loved QMS (the band) since I first heard them in the early 70s. I'm bummed I never got a chance to see them live. I've always wondered, is your screen name in honor of the band?

for 50 some years. Was lucky to see them
play at Ontario Motor Speedway at one of those
California jam sessions way back when. Think I was
living in Ocean Beach at the time. We smuggled-in
some bummer brownies for snacks. Not exactly smart
as they caused some serious munchies and the lines to
the hot dog stands were ridiculously long. But the music
was good !

Wish I had a few of those silver coins. Get busy I guess.
When we got our macro lens, it was flies that attracted our attention. The closeup of the eyes and just the fly in general amused us for a time. We were into developing our own black and white and boy did we feel like real photographers.

Unlike gold, silver at $80 an ounce is still affordable. But don't lag. From what I've seen and heard online the price is expected to almost double this year.
You were real Photographers. You had a camera. You took photos, You developed your own film. In my book that makes you a real photographer.

with your new lens, Sp. I really was fascinated with the Chinese (?) coin. About having gold and silver for barter, I’ve got both. It’s called fine jewelry.
I’m a lifelong nut over Native American jewelry. I’ve got a bit of it. Never thought a lifelong hobby could turn into more than one type of valuable. My biggest concern is international in scope: the climate crisis. I may be a moldie oldie, childless by choice, but I’ve got younger family members and friends I love. They are my energy source to stay politically active. I feel for them. It’s the yo-yo weather week here. Around 80 the last couple of days and going down in the 30s by week’s end. You all stay safe. Rec’d!!

Thank you for the translation, soryang. Much appreciated. I paid $55 for it when I bought it a few months ago. Today it's worth about $85.

$150. Had a hunch. Proved right. The relative
exchange rate hinges on the dollar's decline
as far as I can tell. Hedging bets, as gamblers
