A little snark mixed with good news

Good morning everyone.
I've been surfing the intertubes for the great things the booty from capturing Venezuela will bring.
The heavy crude that is underneath it could bring down prices at the pump, refill our Strategic Petroleum Reserves, and make the oil companies very rich again.
Or we could use most of it to power our war machine in world conquest.
Defeating Russia and China is going to take a shiton of fossil fuels.
And while our naval fleet is partially nuclear powered, the refined uranium to power it largely comes from Russia. Oh and Venezuela has a substantial uranium resource.
But the 600+ tons of Venezuelan American gold reserves there should bring down the price of gold as soon as it hits the market.
Yeah sure.
Snark off.
On the green energy front, China is making great strides using "Supercritical CO2" and rubbish incinerators to produce electricity.

https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202512/1351236.shtml
And Korea is barging ahead with using CO2 for generation and removing it from the atmosphere entirely.

Wanna bet that the fossil fuel titans have their panties in a bunch over this?
So, what portion of this Venezuelan booty will you plan on seeing?
After all you paid for it.

I read this article about the
Venezuelan event and the upcoming Greenland event fitting in with some historical plan (plot may be a better noun) for a New World Order and the realization of a CBDC world economy.
I don't know if this indie journalist is a quack, but I absolutely know the Rothchilds are quacks. The NWO has been floating around in books and articles for decades. I should have been paying more attention.

How many
air defense installations do the Rothchilds have?
Apparently, nobody on planet Earth is safe anymore.
China is moving ahead with CBDC and the populous seems to embrace it.
I've seen videos of Chinese citizens going about their lives using cards and even iris scans to make purchases and pay bills effortlessly.
Funny how in America we take great offense with the threat of losing our cash as an exchange, yet give up our most important Constitutional freedoms with barely batting an eye.
I guess it is all about the money, the only thing that is important.
Thanks for the post. I hope the o'man is getting better.
I've been down since Friday with a bad cold or Covid. Not sure which.
Had a flu shot, so it can't be that, lol.

Well, the Chinese explained to me the cashless
stuff as a convenience with some strings attached---social credit score, where spending tracked what you bought, where you bought it, and when you bought it. Spending for the wrong thing at the wrong place, or at the wrong time dinged your SCS. Spending too much on certain items was bad for the environment. Driving or traveling too many miles was bad for the environment.
Like they react to all government policies, they never complain. They are not allowed to complain. Dinged SCS or jail would result.
SCS, as dreamed of here, connects to all our info. Examples: Purchase of tobacco products is disclosed to your health insurance provider. Purchase of booze when your doctor has said no booze would also be shared, and would be shared with your probation officer is you were prohibited from drinking. Cupcakes bought by a diabetic. You get my drift.
Shopping with a credit or debit card is as cashless as I want to go.
Btw, your snark is much appreciated, friend!

I presume
you meant Venezuela, and yes, it will be expensive to rebuild the oil infrastructure sabotaged, sanctioned, and parts boycotted by the US for years.
The American taxpayers will need to pitch in the majority of money before the oil companies invest a penny.
Socialize the costs, privatize the profits.

Good morning e1, thanks the the OT. Nothing stolen from
VZ will benefit the average US citizen or resident, or any of the people of VZ either. What doesn't go to the military will go to enhancing the wealth of the wealthy and the major corporations.
VZ already had the infrastructure to process their petroleum deposits into shippable crude. Some of the majors and supermajors may have already tweaked some of their refineries to handle it. CITGO, a VZ outlet which we seized, had several such refineries, to process their own crude from VZ. I would wager that both Chevron-Texaco and Exxon=Mobil have one or more due to their involvement Kazakhstan and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, since Kazakh produces some extemely heavy & extremely sour crude. On that note, Valero, once the Kazakh stuff became available in large quantities at really low prices slowly converted all of their refineries to be able to handle it, and so should be quite happy with VZ product. Will this windfall benefit any of us? Do bears really use toilet paper? Any talk about the high cost to become able to process the stuff is advance marketing propaganda to prepare the public for the fact that prices will not drop.

Thanks for the added details
Ramping up to previous levels will be the trick. That will take investments in new infrastructure. It's gonna cost us taxpayers. Why? Because we are a slush fund that all the wrong people have their hands in.

What was the question again?
I know that after years (including the Chavez years) of brutal sanctions, crippling imports of spare parts and exports of oil, gold, and minerals, and the sabotage of Venezuela's electricity plants, have put a crushing blow to the economy.
I think it was Rumsfeld (remember him?) that coined the phrase: "Make their economy scream"!
All designed to cause the citizenry to revolt and change government.
Otherwise known as a regime change operation.
The oil companies sense an opportunity to force Trump to commit taxpayer dollars to disguise his lack of planning. Tricked again.

was Nixon to Kissinger (state) and Helms (CIA) about Chile. Evrntually they broke down and called in the assassin and mass murderee Pinochet for the kill.
VZ is different in that we made the economy scream but were still unable to find a Pinochet to do our dirty work for us.

edit - fixed some typos
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --
Not that I know of. I was discussing what will be the effects
if we do, by hook or by crook "take over" or get control of the VZ oil sector, not whether we will actually do so. Prior to the Bolivarian revolution VZ had a functioning oil industry, largely run by and for US companies. After nationalization it still functioned but a combination of internal problems, a period when prices for benchmark crudes dropped for a while and US economic warfare led to production decreases and infrastructure deterioration. The deterioration will need to be repaired and/or replaced/upgraded. However, the assertions that huge expenditures will also be required to make it possible to refine PDVSA's heavy & sour crude are, imo, highly exaggerated.
By throttling PDVSA's revenues, the US forced it to default on assorted debts and then US courts ordered the forced auction of CITGO to a US owner. Citgo could and did process those crudes. Valero, over the course of a couple of years, upgraded all of its refineries to handle equally heavy and sour crudes from Kasakhstan, and could ergo easily handle PDVSA cruses as well. Both Exxon-Mobil and Chevron-Texaco were in on the development of the Kazakh oil industry and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium and must be presumed to have altered some of their refineries to handle such crudes. Conoco-Phillips was an original player in VZ, and similarly must have some residual capacity to process such crudes.
There will be costs to repair and maybe upgrade e&p assets on the ground in VZ, but CITGO ownership is in the hands of a Trump ally, and yu can be sure that they will be given a whip ahnd and a small fortune should repairs and further expansion occur under Trump's vision, IF it comes to fruition. I did not intend to deny that.
As to whether or not Trump's vision will come to pass, or whether VZ is spanish for Viet Nam is an entirely different question.

Oh my! Trump is living in his own delusional reality.
I have
no words. That man's voice makes me throw up in mouth a little.
I am beyond appalled that he is now the face of America that is presented to the world. I can only hope that his eventual comeuppance will be positively Biblical in scope.

He recently called me after a very long silence to tell me he can no longer stomach the sound of his voice.
I resisted the urge to "I told you so" to the point of making excuses for Trump as not well in the head due to age, just like the last one. Maybe not as empty-headed.
At least we are back in contact.
I think back to all the Presidents advocating to bring Americans together.

@earthling1 Yeah, you are
Yeah, you are sensing a plan and the cretins have been at it since 1965 (if not before). That was the aftermath of the 1964 LBJ vs. Goldwater POTUS race. The Repukes and their fascist craporate cousins were nearly obliterated in the political voting the previous November. After that, the yahoos declared war--quietly. Just check out The Powell Memorandum (1971). That's your Project 2025 in a nutshell. I was a little kid, but already a voracious reader. My thing was world history. I skim current events now. None of it really surprises me anymore. Rec'd!!

What basis, indeed. Utterly disgusting. Too bad that the UN is nothing but a toothless PR outfit. WWIII has long since begun, and this time it will be the rest of the world against the US. I do not think that that will end well.

Idiot knows 100% of NOTHING about history
Greenland was, is, and has always been a Norse colony. Via "musical chairs" it wound up under Danish rule - and the US only shoved its camel's nose under the tent very recently (like circa WWII).
If you ask me, what TPTB want Greenland for is to put the squeeze on Canada because they have hankered for it since before the Declaration of Independence. But every time the Lower Colonies/States have tried invading Canada - and they've tried it several times, and threatened several more times - they've been kicked out with their tails between their legs. So they think if they can grab Greenland they can put Canada in a vise and force them to capitulate.
I don't think it will work.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.

He is accomplishing nothing less than immanentizing the eschaton. And, at this point, I can no longer bring myself to hope that his downfall will somehow not be mine as well. It is inevitable, and this has a very good chance indeed of ending very poorly for all of us.
I do despair. Yes, indeed I do.

@usefewersyllables That's absolute stupidity
That's absolute stupidity for you: loud and loves to show off. Blech!! I'm a moldie oldie now, and would love to split this place, but where? I have family here. Plus, you must factor in the rapidly worsening climate crisis. That is planetary, and international in scope. BTW, out-of-control greed affects the entire human race. It doesn't matter what country or nationality is involved.

This is a little snarky
But it's a relief from the prior South Korean administration and their short sighted pursuit of the Trilateral Alliance or whatever you want to call it.
Beokrando Spirit
Korean old style diplomacy: Will it work?
Japan's PM Takaichi (right) watches with discomfort South Korea's President Lee and his "splendid parade" of commercial representatives who accompany his diplomatic mission to China. The leaders of the industrial chaebol Samsung, Hyundai, SK, LG, etc., included in his delegation spur her sense of isolation. Takaichi at a self imposed disadvantage due to her innate contempt for China, and ahistorical extremist nationalism (make Japan great again).
Graphic of "old Korea" ostensibly the Goryeo Dynasty-Song Dynasty trade routes. Korea was threatened by the "barbarian" Khitan Empire in the north (a tribal nomadic dominion in present day Manchuria, part of North Korea, and northern China) while the prosperous classical Chinese Song Dynasty existed to the southwest. Solution? Pay tribute to the Khitan to satisfy security needs and at the same trade with the Song Dynasty from the Boekrando trading port on the Yellow Sea north of Gangwha island and west of Kaesong (in present day North Korea). The Boekrando principle being that national security interests (placating the Khitan) need not and should not preclude the profitable trade with the Song, an advanced civilization.
