Republicans abolish capitalism!

Even I am getting bored with all these cries for money from the wingnut faithful based on the purported Blue electoral and fundraising skunking the red efforts to make America great again.
This morning's song of red woe came accompanied by this seemingly irrelevant lamentation:

Red state becomes first in the nation to SEIZE Chinese-owned U.S. farmland

FIRST: Chinese nationals bought up hundreds of thousands of acres of our land.

THEN: Joe Biden filed LEGAL ACTION to let them purchase even more.

NOW: Republicans are leading the way to take back our land!

I could not find out which state has expropriated land bought by people from China or why that is any different from Soviet Communism, where the State seizes control over the economy, including agriculture.

Does anybody who pays more attention to the news than me know which state has kicked off this purge?

China Forced to Give Up Land Owned in US

Here one recalls that a large portion of Mark Twain's 1884 novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (toward the end) is dedicated to making fun of the state of Arkansas. If I were to hedge a guess, I would speculate that the seizure is a public relations stunt and that it won't stand up in court.

But, yeah, here one thinks of "primitive accumulation"...

The 2-1 ruling by the Atlanta-based 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals could encourage other states to adopt so-called alien land laws, which were once common but fell out of favor a century ago. Lawmakers in more than 30 states have passed or introduced bills restricting foreign property ownership.

The very cryptic note from Scalise does not make it clear what if anything is happening in the real world. It suggests that some red state is confiscating the real property owned by Chinese individuals. It implies, without clearly saying so, that there is no compensation going to these people who commit the crime of being born in China -- simple theft. But it is possible that some state might have passed a law that buys the land in question from the Chinese land owners. If that is the program, I still oppose it, but it would not be the batshit crazy and very evil scheme of stealing the lands bought in good faith.

Status crimes are bogus. Making it a crime to come from an "evil" country is exactly what evil countries do.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

The key point is that its protection against the deprivation of property applies to "any person" -- not just citizens.

It is easy for me to believe and I do guess that the sloppy draftsmanship is intentional, as they want to amp up the fear and loathing among their constituency. If they really are living up to the hard-nosed rhetoric, and simply stealing land, it is time to raise hell.

Got nothing to do with China or Russia or Hitler, for that matter -- confiscating real property is wrong on every level.

In China, no one is allowed to buy and hold unimproved land for speculation.

That's why large scale infrastructure projects — like a national high speed rail system that serves the entire nation — are a slam dunk for the Chinese.

The US is tied in knots by land speculators. Sure, the land can be reclaimed by the government, but only at fair market value, making large scale infrastructure unaffordable. This is the real reason that the Peoples' never-ending demand for "infrastructure" never happens. Infrastructure funding (when it does happen) goes to repairing or rebuilding pre-existing infrastructure.
