"UK, Canada and Australia: Never fear, Palestinians! We’re here to save the day!
Palestinians: You’re going to stop the genocide?
UK, Canada and Australia: HAHAHAHAHA! No! Oh god no. Haha! No, we are going to give a great big Thumbs Up to the idea of your eventual statehood!
Palestinians: Will you at least stop sending them weapons?
UK, Canada and Australia: LOL no."

News and Opinion
Britain, Canada, Australia and Portugal formally announced their recognition of a Palestinian state Sunday, with other European countries expected to follow later today ahead of Tuesday’s opening of the UN General Assembly. Recognition, couched as a defence of a decades-long pursuit of a “two-state solution” to the Israel/Palestine conflict, are a despicable fraud. Under conditions in which the Zionist regime, backed to the hilt by imperialism, is in the final stages of its genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza, imperialist powers are attempting to wash themselves of the Palestinians’ blood in which they are drenched.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese issued their statements as the official death toll in Gaza climbed over 65,000. Everyone knows that this is a gross underestimation of the true number of Palestinians slaughtered by the Israel Defence Force since October 2023, with the true death toll running into the hundreds of thousands. Israel continues its policy of systematic starvation of the enclave, producing a famine, and is forcibly expelling a million people from Gaza City in the north, with no intention of them ever returning.
Last week, a UN special commission found that Israel is guilty of genocide in Gaza. It noted that the Zionist regime had committed four of the five acts specified in the 1948 Convention on the Prevention of the Crime of Genocide: killing, causing serious bodily or mental harm, deliberately inflicting conditions of life designed to bring about the destruction of the Palestinians in whole or in part, and imposing measures designed to prevent births. ...
Blotting out this reality from their statements, the various heads of government touted their announcement as an “historic” step to the establishment of peace in the Middle East. They all avoided the term genocide like the plague. French President Emmanuel Macron will follow suit later today at a conference co-hosted by France and Saudi Arabia at the United Nations in New York. The conference is the product of an earlier meeting in July that adopted the New York Declaration, urging support for “tangible, time bound and irreversible” steps towards a two-state solution. On September 12, the UN General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to endorse the statement, with the US and Israel voting against. ...
The declarations of recent days and those still to come this week are a cynical manoeuvre on the part of some European imperialist powers, Canada, and Australia to whitewash their complicity in the Gaza genocide. All of the governments involved have supplied weaponry and other military equipment to Israel throughout its barbaric onslaught on Gaza, while ruthlessly suppressing opposition to the genocide at home. As for the Arab regimes, led by the despotic Saudi monarchy which drew up the New York Declaration together with France, they have done nothing to stop the slaughter of an entire people by Israel. They are seeking a political cover while they reach an accommodation with the Zionist regime and serve as partners of imperialism in a drive to restructure the entire region by sidelining Iran and strengthening Washington’s hegemony.
There is no viable Palestinian state to recognise
France recognises Palestine and calls for UN force in Gaza
Emmanuel Macron has announced France’s official recognition of the State of Palestine, setting out a plan for a UN-mandated international stabilisation force in postwar Gaza that is expected to find support in many countries but not in Israel or the US. “The time has come to end the war in Gaza, the massacres and the death,” Macron said during a speech opening a special summit in the United Nations general assembly hall on Monday evening. “The time has come to do justice for the Palestinian people and thus to recognise the State of Palestine in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem.”
The statements drew cheers and standing ovations from some in the hall, but the session was not attended by the US and Israeli officials dismissed the initiative. Meanwhile, Arab and Muslim leaders are set to meet Donald Trump in New York to discuss their separate plan for a stabilisation force in Gaza as France joined the UK, Canada and Australia in recognising Palestine as a state.
The recognition of Palestine by France and five other states played out in dramatic fashion later on the floor of the UN general assembly as France and Saudi Arabia co-chaired a summit to discuss the future of a two-state solution, a road map to peace that Benjamin Netanyahu has declared a dead-end. ...
Israel’s UN ambassador, Danny Danon, derided the session as an “embarrassing political circus” and the US has warned its allies that the recognition of Palestine could lead to a “reciprocal” Israeli reaction, setting the scene for a major diplomatic crisis as world leaders meet in New York for the 80th anniversary of the UN.

Netanyahu Fumes as UK, Canada, Australia, and Portugal Announce Recognition of Palestinian State
“Today, to revive the hope of peace for the Palestinians and Israelis, and a two-state solution, the United Kingdom formally recognises the State of Palestine,” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a post on X.
In response to the announcements, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that there would never be a Palestinian state and bragged about his work over the years to prevent one.
“It’s not going to happen. There will be no Palestinian state to the west of the Jordan River,” Netanyahu said. “For years, I have prevented the creation of that terror state, against tremendous pressure, both domestic and from abroad.
The Israeli leader also said Israel would continue expanding Jewish settlements in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. “Moreover, we have doubled the Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria, and we will continue on this path,” he said.
Disruption across Italy as tens of thousands protest against Gaza war
Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets in dozens of cities across Italy – shutting schools, disrupting trains and blocking ports and roads – in one of Europe’s largest nationwide protests against Israel’s offensive in Gaza. The protests came as France and several other countries prepared to recognise Palestinian statehood at the UN general assembly on Monday after the UK, Australia, Portugal and Canada did so on Sunday.
Italy has so far distanced itself from the coordinated move. The prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, has previously said it could be counterproductive to recognise the state of Palestine before it was established. “If something that doesn’t exist is recognised on paper, the problem could appear to be solved when it isn’t,” she told the Italian daily La Repubblica in late July.
Grassroots unions across Italy called for a 24-hour general strike on Monday in solidarity with the people of Gaza, citing reasons that included the “inertia of the Italian and EU governments” to address the humanitarian crisis in the territory. From Milan to Palermo, Italians poured on to the streets in at least 75 municipalities across the country. In Genoa and Livorno, dock workers blocked ports over concerns that Italy was being used as a staging post for the transfer of arms to Israel. In Rome, more than 20,000 people gathered outside the Termini train station waving Palestinian flags and chanting “free Palestine”. ...
Under the slogan of Let’s Block Everything, those taking part in the general strike called on the government to suspend commercial and military cooperation with Israel and expressed support for the Global Sumud Flotilla, an international initiative of more than 50 small boats seeking to break Israel’s naval blockade and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Organisers said 50,000 people had turned out in the northern city of Milan, and police in Bologna put the figure there at more than 10,000.
Meloni has repeatedly voiced concerns about the Israeli offence but her far-right government – which has sought to foster close ties with Donald Trump’s administration in the US – has adopted a cautious stance on the war in Gaza.

IDF may launch new offensives after Gaza City, says ex-general
Israeli military forces are likely to mount new attacks into parts of Gaza now crowded with hundreds of thousands of displaced people once they have concluded their current offensive into Gaza City, a former Israeli national security adviser and general has said.
Yaakov Amidror, who served as national security adviser to Benjamin Netanyahu from 2011 to 2013 after decades in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), said that the “hardcore” of Hamas was in Gaza City but that “another chapter” could follow after the offensive there: an attack into the “central camps” area farther south.
“The campaign in Gaza City will be three months of intensive [fighting] then six months to clear it [of Hamas fighters] so there is no threat from there and then we decide about the central camps,” Amidror said.
The “central camps” refers to the heavily built-up Nuseirat and Bureij refugee camps in central Gaza. Both are packed with displaced Palestinians from elsewhere in Gaza, and have been repeatedly subjected to airstrikes.

Israeli Drone Strike on Southern Lebanon Kills Five, US Disputes Claims Four Were US Citizens
An Israeli drone fired two missiles at a car and a motorcycle on a road in Bint Jbeil, in southern Lebanon on Sunday, killing at least five people, including three children. The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed the deaths, and also reported two people were wounded. According to the Lebanese government, Four of the five, including all the children, were US citizens. They were a father and his three children. The mother was also present and among the wounded, and according to the Foreign Ministry, she is in critical condition. The US State Department later issued a statement saying there “indications” were that none of the slain were US citizens.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun slammed the attack, calling it a massacre, and calling for the international community to pressure Israel into complying with the November ceasefire, both in not attacking and in withdrawing ground troops from Lebanon soil.
The 82-year-old leader of the Unification Church was arrested in South Korea early Tuesday as investigators probe allegations that the church bribed the wife of jailed former president Yoon Suk Yeol and a conservative lawmaker. Han Hak-ja, the widow of the church’s South Korean founder, Sun Myung Moon, has denied allegations that she directed church officials to bribe Yoon’s wife, Kim Keon Hee, and the lawmaker.
The Seoul central district court approved investigators’ request for an arrest warrant for Han, saying she posed a risk of destroying evidence. A self-proclaimed messiah who preached new interpretations of the Bible and conservative family values, founder Moon built the Unification Church into an international movement with millions of followers and extensive business interests. The church is widely known for mass weddings, pairing thousands of couples who often are from different countries.
Han did not speak to reporters as she arrived at the Seoul court on Monday for a hearing on the warrant request. After an hours-long hearing, the court issued its decision in the early hours of Tuesday as Han awaited the verdict at a detention centre near Seoul, where she will now be held.
Former first lady Kim was arrested and charged last month on allegations including bribery, stock manipulation and meddling in the selection of a legislative candidate. Kim has denied the allegations, calling them “false information”. The lawmaker, Kweon Seong-dong, a staunch Yoon loyalist who was arrested last week, has denied receiving money from the church. Investigators also last week visited the headquarters of his conservative People Power party to obtain documents in order to examine claims that Unification Church members signed up en masse ahead of the party’s 2023 leadership race to boost Kweon’s candidacy.
Iran’s foreign minister meets with UN nuclear watchdog in bid to avert sanctions
Iran’s foreign minister has met the head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog at the start of a frantic round of diplomatic meetings in New York in a bid to avert the reimposition of a wave of UN sanctions on Iran starting on Sunday. The crisis could rapidly spiral into fresh Israeli calls to attack Iran for failing to cooperate over its nuclear programme. The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, warned on Monday: “We must destroy the axis of evil Iran and we have the power to do so. This is what lies ahead of us in the coming year, a year that could be a historic one for Israel’s security.”
Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, said the window for reaching an agreement with Iran was limited, adding it was hard to predict if the snapback of the UN sanctions lifted when Iran reached a nuclear deal in 2015 will take place this weekend. With the deadline so close the risk of diplomatic miscalculation is high.
Abbas Araghchi is also likely to meet European foreign ministers on Tuesday. He warned: “They have tested Iran repeatedly and know we do not respond to the language of pressure and threat. I hope we can find a diplomatic solution in the coming days, otherwise Tehran will take appropriate measures.” ...
The deadline for the reimposition of six sets of suspended UN sanctions is Saturday night, when the last chance for the UK, France and Germany to defer sanctions for as long as six months or a year expires. If the three European powers reimpose sanctions, they could not be lifted in future without the US agreeing not to use its veto. Iran has warned the reimposition of UN sanctions would see the end of Iranian cooperation with the nuclear inspectorate.

Jimmy Kimmel will return to TV after highly criticized suspension
Jimmy Kimmel is headed back to air. Disney announced on Monday that Jimmy Kimmel Live! would return to broadcast this Tuesday, after a brief but highly criticized suspension that sparked a national debate on free speech and the muzzling tactics of the Trump administration. Disney indefinitely suspended Kimmel’s late-night talk show last Wednesday, under pressure from Donald Trump’s chair of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) over comments Kimmel made about Maga and the killing of far-right activist Charlie Kirk.
“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” the company, which owns the ABC television network, said on Monday. “It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”
However, Sinclair Broadcast Group, the largest owner of ABC stations in the US, said it still would not air the show on its 38 ABC affiliate stations. ...
The suspension drew praise from Trump and Carr, who also threatened that he may be “looking into” The View, another ABC talk show critical of Trump. But it sparked condemnation from Hollywood talent, unions, media pundits, other talk show hosts and even Republican politicians like Ted Cruz, who likened Carr’s threats to that of a mob boss.
“The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other – to disturb, even – is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people,” the Writers Guild of America wrote in a blistering statement. “It is not to be denied. Not by violence, not by the abuse of governmental power, nor by acts of corporate cowardice.
The rogue court marches forward:
Supreme court lets Trump fire FTC commissioner for now and will hear arguments later
The US supreme court on Monday let Donald Trump fire a Democratic member of the Federal Trade Commission, for now, while agreeing to hear arguments in the case in December, setting up a major test of presidential power over government agencies designed by Congress to be independent. The court granted a justice department request to block a judge’s order that had shielded Rebecca Slaughter, who sued to challenge Trump’s action, from being dismissed from the consumer protection and antitrust agency before her term expires in 2029.
The supreme court said it will hear arguments in the case, which could lead to the justices overruling a landmark 90-year-old precedent upholding job protections put in place by Congress to give the heads of certain federal agencies a degree of independence from presidential control. ...
Federal law permits a president to remove FTC commissioners only for cause – such as inefficiency, neglect of duty or malfeasance in office – but not for policy differences. Similar protections cover officials at other independent agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board and Merit Systems Protection Board. ...
The lower courts ruled that the statutory protections shielding FTC members from being removed without cause conform with the US constitution in light of a 1935 supreme court precedent in a case called Humphrey’s Executor v United States. In that case, the court ruled that a president lacks unfettered power to remove FTC commissioners, faulting Franklin Roosevelt’s firing of an FTC commissioner for policy differences.
The Trump administration in its supreme court filing in Slaughter’s case argued that “the modern FTC exercises far more substantial powers than the 1935 FTC”, and thus its members can be fired at will by the president.

White House aide sworn in as interim US attorney after Trump fired predecessor
Lindsey Halligan, a White House aide, was sworn in on Monday as the interim US attorney for the eastern district of Virginia after Donald Trump removed her predecessor who declined to bring charges against James Comey, the former FBI director, and Letitia James, the New York attorney general. The appointment of Halligan, who has no prosecutorial experience and was the most junior lawyer on Trump’s personal legal team, alarmed current and former prosecutors about political pressure to indict the president’s political enemies regardless of the strength of the evidence.
For months, federal prosecutors investigated whether there was sufficient evidence to act on referrals by Trump officials at other agencies against Comey, for lying to Congress about matters related to the 2016 election, and against James, for mortgage fraud over a house she bought her niece. The prosecutors ultimately concluded that there was insufficient evidence in either investigation to bring charges against either Comey or James, leading Trump to issue a series of extraordinary social media posts over the weekend demanding that the justice department seek criminal charges regardless.
Halligan was sworn in shortly after noon by Pam Bondi, the attorney general, at justice department headquarters, replacing Erik Siebert, who had declined to bring the prosecutions. Interim US attorneys can only serve for 120 days but Trump is expected to submit her nomination to the Senate for a full term. Halligan’s lack of prosecutorial experience was particularly stunning given the US attorney for the eastern district of Virginia occupies one of the most sensitive posts at the justice department and oversees around 300 lawyers and staff. With the Pentagon and the CIA nearby, the office also handles sensitive national security cases. ...
Before joining the White House, Halligan was an insurance lawyer in Florida and worked for the Save America Pac before joining the Trump legal team as the most junior lawyer, helping to draft briefs in the federal criminal case over Trump’s mishandling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago club.

Trump signs order designating antifa as a ‘domestic terrorist organization’
Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday that designates antifa as a “domestic terrorist organization”, reviving a controversial pledge from his first presidency in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s killing on 10 September and yesterday’s memorial service. “Antifa is a militarist, anarchist enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States Government, law enforcement authorities, and our system of law,” the order reads. ...
The move comes after the killing of far-right commentator Charlie Kirk in Utah. Trump blamed “radical left wing political violence” for the shooting, saying it is “directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now.” No evidence has been presented linking the suspected Kirk assassin to antifa.
Some extremist experts are however questioning the president’s authority to make such a designation. Unlike foreign terrorist organizations like Islamic State, no legal framework exists for designating domestic groups as terrorist organizations due to first amendment concerns about criminalizing political ideologies. Because of that, Heidi Beirich, co-founder of the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism who has faced Congress as an expert witness on hate groups and extremism, said the move was “ridiculous on its face” and that Trump’s declaration appears to have “no basis in law or fact”.
“There is no domestic terrorist organization list in the US,” Beirich said. “There is a mechanism to declare foreign organizations terrorist organizations, and when that happens there are legal mechanisms to hamper them including such things as material support. But none of that exists domestically and it doesn’t appear there would be a way to apply that designation to antifa”.
She also added that antifa is not an organization with hierarchy or dues, which makes it unclear how it can be declared a terrorist organization in the first place “unless new legislation is proposed or Trump comes up with some extra-legal mechanism that I can’t even imagine”.

‘Reckless’ Countries to Extract More Than Double the Fossil Fuels Consistent With 1.5°C
Climate advocates on Monday said a new report from three climate think tanks reveals how “just how reckless” some of the world’s biggest polluters are when it comes to oil, gas, and coal extraction—which they are planning to ramp up in the coming years despite pledging to take steps to avoid catastrophic fossil-fueled planetary heating a decade ago.
Ten years after the Paris agreement on keeping global warming well below 2°C and just two years after the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), where countries agreed for the first time to transition “away from fossil fuels,” the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) joined Climate Analytics and the International Institute for Sustainable Development in releasing its latest Production Gap Report—and revealed that powerful governments are in fact moving in the opposite direction.
“Governments plan to produce 120% the volume of fossil fuels in 2030 than would be consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5°C, and 77% more than would be consistent with 2°C,” the report found.
In their last analysis in 2023, the groups found a 110% and 69% gap over the 1.5°C and 2°C limits, respectively.
The groups analyzed the 20 largest producers of fossil fuels around the world—including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Russia, and Canada—that are responsible for 80% of fossil fuel extraction.
Only three of the countries—Norway, the UK, and Australia—currently have plans to reduce oil and gas production by 2030 compared with 2023 levels. Eleven of them—including the US, Germany, and Saudi Arabia—are planning for higher production of at least one type of fossil fuel.
Derik Broekhoff, the lead author of the report and a senior scientist at SEI, said in a statement that “while many countries have committed to a clean energy transition, many others appear to be stuck using a fossil-fuel-dependent playbook, planning even more production than they were two years ago.”
The authors stressed that fossil fuel-producing countries are persisting in oil, gas, and coal extraction even as industries know “fossil fuels are on their last legs.”
“Clean energy attracted $2 trillion in investment last year—$800 billion more than fossil fuels, and a 70% increase since the Paris agreement,” reads the report. “In 2024, 92% of new global power capacity came from renewables, which undercut fossil fuels on price, efficiency, and emissions—even with subsidies artificially keeping fossil fuel prices down.”
Neil Grant, a senior expert at Climate Analytics, noted that less demand for fossil fuels could make them cheaper, which could prolong the transition to renewable energy that the vast majority of the world population supports, according to one poll last year.
“We are in the foothills of an energy transition that is going to reshape fossil fuel demand,” Grant told The Guardian “But many governments are thinking in terms of a world where the energy transition happens very incrementally. There’s a lot of danger, [including that] the voice of the fossil fuel lobby only gets louder and holds us back from this change to a cleaner, better, greener economy. That would lead to climate chaos or significant negative economic impacts.”
“Governments are blundering backwards towards our fossil past,” said Grant in a statement, but “rapid reductions are possible, feasible, and they would make our lives better.”
Emily Ghosh, a program director at SEI, warned that to limit planetary heating to 1.5°C, “fossil fuel production should have peaked and started to fall.”
“Every year of delay significantly increases the pressure,” she told The Guardian, adding that a “course correction” is urgently needed.
Jean Su, director of the Energy Justice program at the Center for Biological Diversity, pointed to US President Donald Trump’s climate policy, including his move to end tax credits for solar panels and electric vehicles and to cancel the construction of an offshore wind farm.
“Trump is fulfilling his dream of petrostate authoritarianism, backed by oil and gas billionaires. Unless we fight to stop it, the whole world is going to pay the price,” said Su.
“This report shows just how reckless the U.S. and other countries are in doubling down on fossil fuels,” she added. “It’s astonishing that in the two years since countries agreed in Dubai to transition off fossil fuels, the U.S. is leading the abandonment of affordable renewables for deadly oil and gas.”
Kelly Trout, research director at Oil Change International, emphasized that “it is not yet too late to act.”
“With the US driving the majority of global projected oil and gas expansion over the next decade, governments must resist bowing to the Trump administration’s pro-fossil fuel agenda, and instead seize the chance to rapidly shift course,” said Trout. “Countries can still deliver the just energy transition away from fossil fuels they promised us two years ago, with other rich Global North producers taking the lead.”
The report was released as Colombia announced at the UN General Assembly its intention to host the First International Conference for the Phaseout of Fossil Fuels, aligning with the International Court of Justice’s historic advisory opinion this year recognizing countries’ legal obligation to protect the climate.
As advocates called for the Production Gap Report to be “both a warning and a guide,” Tzeporah Berman of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative said Colombia had signaled “a bold and necessary step towards climate leadership.”
“This conference offers a vital opportunity to translate growing support into concrete action,” said Berman, “accelerating our shift towards a more sustainable and just energy future for all.”

Earthquake with 4.3 magnitude rocks San Francisco Bay Area
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 rocked the San Francisco Bay Area early on Monday, waking up many people in the northern California region.
The quake hit just east-south-east of Berkeley, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said, and more than 22,000 people said they felt it.
No injuries or major damage was reported, but some businesses said windows were broken and merchandise tumbled from shelves.
Residents were jolted awake just before 3am. The earthquake was strong and long, loud noises and objects falling from shelves. Residents could be heard shouting. Many people reported lying awake waiting for aftershocks.
Eat salmon, win prizes: Fat Bear Week begins in Alaska’s Katmai national park
It’s that time of year again, when audiences turn to a welcome distraction from the heavy news cycle: Katmai national park and preserve in southern Alaska is celebrating its fattest brown bears. The park is set to kick off its annual Fat Bear Week on Tuesday, an online competition where the public votes for the park’s fattest brown bear.
The single-elimination tournament will run from 23 September to 30 September, with voting open daily from 12pm to 9pm eastern time. Each round pits two bears against each other, and the one with the most votes advances. The competition’s bracket is slated to be revealed on Monday, and only one bear will be crowned champion.
“The astonishing salmon runs in Katmai are essential to the survival of the park’s ecosystem and brown bears,” said Mark Sturm, Katmai superintendent. “Fat Bear Week enables people from around the world to actively engage in learning about bears while cheering for their favorite competitor.”
Some of the largest brown bears on Earth set up their homes along the Brooks River in Katmai, according to Explore.org, the philanthropic live-cam network transmitting the bears’ whereabouts. Bears in this area return to the river in mid- to late June, and stay nearby until late October, when the salmon run is over and it’s nearly time to hibernate, according to the National Park Service’s website.

Didn't say anything about Putin being brought before an international tribunal or reparations etc Plus there are all those kidnapped kids, half a country destroyed by years of war. I guess Europe doesn't have the death penalty, maybe Putin will end up as other dictators have at the hands of their countrymen.
I have to ask......
Do you have PDS as in Putin Derangement Syndrome? Anybody who links to the guardiandumpsterfire makes me wonder.
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Just for your information, though numerous papers
continue to amplify the "kidnapped childern" lie, it really has been put to reat. Long ago the Rus told the Ukies to provide names and they only came up with something like 713, whom thr Rus are trying to track down. Now, the facts:
1) No children were kidnapped, but large numbers were openly and opublicly evacuated while the Ukies were shelling and firing antipersonnel cluster munitions at civilians and civilian structures in the Breakaway territories.
2) By and large, like their parents, those kids wewre ethnically and culturally Rus, not ukie, german, banderite or whatever.
,3) The breakaway republics had held two plebescites under which the vast majority of the populace voted to a) No longer be part of Ukiestan and b) become part of the Rus federation.
In short the evacuated children, except for a very few, were not ukranian.
Trump knows shit about war and warefare, and about geopolities and the Rus-Ukiestan war, his opinion is worth less than some teenybopper who plays wargames and reads press reports from other sources in addition to the "Western" propaganda mills.
Putin really needn't be brought before a tribunal nor should reparations be considered. Under all the relevant treaties, the Rus had a mandatory obligation to step up and save the citizens of the breakaway republics from the genocidal campaigns of the Ukies. So too did all the neighboring countries, who should be brought before a tribunal for their fialure to act.

Why is this a surprise? Well, because virtually all the other “New Right” / “alt-right” German websites or publications — e.g. magazines Tichys Einblick and Cicero, the weekly Junge Freiheit, websites like “Achse des Guten” and “unzensuriert”, video news portal Nius.de — are as married to Zionism and Israel as that relic of the old Cold-War traditional German right, the Axel Springer media combine.
More or less proving such media outlets are not “new” or “alternative” at all, but just the same old Cold War reactionary Right relaunched and repackaged to try to appeal to younger anti-status-quo, radical-reform-minded generations post-reunification.
