"Imperialism creates the illusion of wealth as far as the masses are concerned. It usually serves to hide the fact that the ruling classes are gobbling up the natural resources of the home territory in an improvident manner and are otherwise utilizing the national wealth largely for their own purposes. Eventually the general public is called upon to pay for all of this, frequently after the military machine can no longer maintain external aggression."

Westerners Have A Moral Responsibility To Help Curb The Empire’s Abuses
In a sense all I’m ever really pointing at here is the importance of taking responsibility. Taking responsibility as westerners for the suffering and destruction inflicted upon the world by the western power structure that we live under.
To be a westerner is to live in a civilization that is powered by the abuse and exploitation of the people of the global south. Every one of us benefits directly from the way resources and labor are exploitatively extracted from nations that are held in subjugation to the western empire at the barrel of a gun. The very electronic device you are reading these words on is a testament to this reality.
We each have a moral obligation to end this abusive dynamic. We have a responsibility to oppose the mass murder, tyranny, theft and abuse which is being imposed upon the rest of the world by the nations in which we live.
This is one of the reasons why I have no patience for rightists who whine about immigrants. It is not legitimate to live in a civilization which bombs, destabilizes, exploits and extracts from the global south and then complain when the victims of the bombing, destabilization, exploitation and extraction move to your country to get away from the misery your society caused them.
Whenever I say this I get rightists telling me “It’s not OUR fault there are immigrants! It’s our leaders! They’re the ones doing this, not us!”
And to them I can only say, nah. You’re just shirking your responsibility. You’re being immature and irresponsible. You need to grow up and take responsibility for your part of the bargain here. You need to stop blaming your problems on the desperate victims of your country’s abuses, and start doing what you can to end those abuses.
Don’t whine to me about how powerless you are. You know who’s a lot less powerful than you? The immigrants you’re bitching about. The exploited, abused nations they’ve been driven from. You’ve got a hell of a lot more power to effect meaningful change than they do. They’re being blown about by the winds of circumstances which you directly benefit from. Quit your bellyaching and get to work.
Ferociously oppose genocide. Ferociously oppose war. Ferociously oppose militarism. Ferociously oppose imperialism. Stand in solidarity with the ordinary workers around the world who are being exploited by the empire under which we live. Do everything you can to wake your fellow westerners up to the reality of the empire’s abuses and help create a grassroots movement to tear it down. That’s your responsibility.
This is why I’m always dismissive of people who say “Why are you always criticizing the west? Why aren’t you talking about that evil regime over there in Asia or Africa?” Those aren’t my responsibility. I am a westerner. I live under the US-centralized western empire whose abuses dwarf those of any non-western power structure by orders of magnitude. I focus on the power structure under which I live, which also happens to be the most murderous and tyrannical power structure on earth, because that is my responsibility.
Obviously our rulers are far more culpable in the abuses of the western empire than the ordinary individuals who live here, but we in turn are far more culpable in those abuses than the non-westerners whose labor and resources are being extracted so we can have cheap stuff whenever we want it. I’m not saying this exploitation makes all westerners inherently evil, I’m just saying we have a responsibility to do whatever we can to help end an abusive situation.
We need to stop trying to offload the blame for our circumstances onto others and set to work opening eyes and fomenting a revolutionary zeitgeist. Our leaders aren’t going to cease their abuses of their own volition, so we’re going to have to find a way to force them to.
Israel Strikes Qatar Hamas Office In Assassination Attempt
Spain Announces Arms Embargo on Israel and Other Steps 'to Stop the Genocide in Gaza'
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Monday announced a series of nine new measures—including a total arms embargo—aimed at pressuring the government of fugitive Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "to stop the genocide in Gaza."
Sánchez, who leads the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), announced the steps during a speech in which he first acknowledged the historical suffering of the Jewish people, which includes the 1492 ethnic cleansing of Jews from Spain.
"The Jewish people have suffered countless persecutions, deserve to have their own state, and to feel secure," Sánchez said. "That is why the Spanish government has condemned Hamas' attacks from day one."
However, "there is a difference between defending your country and bombing hospitals or starving innocent children," the prime minister continued. "This is an unjustifiable attack on the civilian population, which the [United Nations] rapporteur has described as genocide."
"Sixty thousand dead, two million displaced, half of them children," Sánchez said. "This is not self-defense, it is not even an attack—it is the extermination of a defenseless people and a violation of every international law."
The nine measures—which must be approved by lawmakers and the Cabinet—include:
A "legal and permanent prohibition" on the purchase and sale of weapons, ammunition, and military equipment; A ban on transit through Spanish ports for all ships carrying fuels destined for Israel's military; Denial of entry into Spanish airspace for all state aircraft carrying military equipment to Israel; A ban on entry to Spain for "all persons directly involved in genocide, human rights violations, and war crimes" in Gaza; Prohibition of imported products from illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories; Limitation of consular services for Spanish citizens residing in illegal Israeli settlements; Strengthened support for the Palestinian Authority; An additional €10 million in support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA); and An increase in overall humanitarian spending for Gaza, to reach €150 million by 2026. "Spain does not have nuclear bombs. We cannot stop the Israeli offensive alone, but we will not stop trying," Sánchez said, recognizing the limitations of Monday's action.
Spain's new measures come in addition to its earlier steps toward an arms embargo, promotion of several UN ceasefire resolutions, support for the International Criminal Court's (ICC) effort to bring Netanyahu to justice and the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) ongoing South Africa-led genocide case against Israel, and formal recognition of Palestinian statehood.
Individual Spanish politicians have also taken action for Palestine, including former Social Rights Minister Ione Belarra, an early proponent for ICC prosecution of Netanyahu and others; former leftist lawmaker and Palma City Councilmember Lucia Muñoz, a participant in the Global Sumud Flotilla; and former Barcelona Mayor Ada Colau, another flotilla member whose city cut ties with Israel prior to the Gaza genocide over "the crime of apartheid against the Palestinian people."
The Global Sumud Flotilla—whose other members include Mandla Mandela, Susan Sarandon, and Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg—set sail from Barcelona last month and was warmly welcomed Sunday upon a stopover in Tunis, Tunisia en route to the coast of Gaza, where activists will attempt to break an Israeli blockade and deliver desperately needed humanitarian aid.
The Israeli government responded to Sánchez's announcement with its customary allegation of antisemitism and an entry ban on Deputy Prime Minister Yolanda Díaz and Youth Minister Sira Rego.
"It is a point of pride that a genocidal state is banning me," said Díaz, a member of the Communist Party of Spain and Sumar movement.
Spain subsequently recalled its ambassador from Tel Aviv. The Spanish Foreign Ministry said the government "would not be intimidated in its defense of peace, international law, and human rights."
According to figures from the Gaza Health Ministry—which experts contend are likely a vast undercount—at least 64,522 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza since October 2023, most of them women and children. More than 163,000 others have been wounded, and thousands more are missing and presumed dead and buried beneath rubble.
Hundreds of thousands of Gazans are starving to death in a famine largely caused by Israel's "complete siege" of the coastal exclave. At least hundreds of Palestinians have starved to death in what hunger experts and every United Nations Security Council member except the United States have called a man-made catastrophe caused by Israeli policies and practices.
The ICC warrants issued last year for Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant accuse the pair of crimes against humanity and war crimes, including forced starvation and murder.
On Monday, Spain also condemned what it called a "terrorist attack" that left six people, including Spanish citizen Yakov Pinto, dead in a mass shooting north of occupied Jerusalem.
Sánchez's announcement followed pro-Palestine and anti-genocide protests in cities including the capital Madrid, where demonstrators rallied outside the Israeli Embassy on Saturday and shouted messages including, "It's Not a War, It's a Genocide!" and "Israel Kills, Europe Sponsors!"
On Sunday, demonstrators gathered in Madrid's Callao Square, where participants read aloud the names of many of the more than 18,500 Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, followed by the word "murdered."
According to a June Pew Research Center survey, 75% of Spanish respondents have a negative view of Israel, with 46%—the highest percentage of any non-Muslim nation in the 24 nations polled—having a "very unfavorable" view of the country.

US visa refusal for Palestinian delegation prompts calls to move UN meeting to Geneva
The US’s refusal to grant visas to the Palestinian delegation to the UN general assembly has led to calls for a one-day conference on a two-state solution for Palestine and Israel to be moved from the UN’s headquarters in New York to its other main site in Geneva. Donald Trump’s White House has already refused to grant a visa to the Palestinian Authority (PA) president, Mahmoud Abbas, and 80 other Palestinian officials for the general assembly session, which begins on Tuesday. There is now speculation that, citing anti-terrorist laws, he will also ban diplomats from Brazil, Iran, Sudan and Zimbabwe.
In 1988 the US debarred the leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO), Yasser Arafat, from travelling to New York. But the White House is going further than before by withholding visas from the entire travelling Palestinian delegation to probably the most important diplomatic event for Palestine since the Oslo accords – a one-day event at which the UK, France, Australia, Canada and others are expected to recognise a Palestinian state if certain conditions are met, which has infuriated Israel.
Such a blanket ban has never been attempted in the history of the UN. Per Clausen, a Danish MEP who is a member of the Left group, has called for Europe to propose a temporary transfer to Geneva “both to uphold the Palestinians’ right to be represented and to send a clear signal to Trump”.
In a statement at the end of August, the US state department said: “It is in our national security interests to hold the Palestinian Liberation Organisation and the Palestinian Authority accountable for not complying with their commitments, and for undermining the prospects for peace.” It added that, to be considered partners for peace, both groups “must consistently repudiate terrorism, and end incitement to terrorism in education, as required by US law and as promised by the PLO”.
Under a 1947 UN agreement, the US is generally required to allow access for foreign diplomats to the UN in New York.

Palestinian gunmen kill six people at Jerusalem bus stop
Palestinian gunmen opened fire at a crowded bus stop in the northern outskirts of Jerusalem on Monday, killing six people and injuring 12 others before being shot dead by an off-duty soldier and a civilian at the scene.
The victims included a 79-year-old former cardiologist, a 43-year-old rabbi and a 25-year-old who had recently emigrated from Spain. Twenty-six others suffered injuries, including six who were left in a serious condition with gunshot wounds.
Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the site of the attack in Jerusalem with his far-right national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir. “The war continues, in Jerusalem as well,” Netanyahu said.
He later repeated calls for people in Gaza City to leave before an upcoming “ground operation” by Israeli forces. “You have been warned – get out of there,” he said.
Israel Katz, Israel’s defence minister, later posted on X that Gaza would face “a mighty hurricane” if Hamas did not release the last hostages it was holding. The finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, said: “This abominable attack will have the most severe and far-reaching consequences.
Court staff cover up Banksy image of judge beating a protester
A painting by Banksy of a judge using a gavel to beat a helpless protester appeared on the walls of the Royal Courts of Justice in London before quickly being covered up by guards. Banksy confirmed the artwork was his by posting a picture of it on Instagram on Monday morning.
Local workers said security guards were in position in front of the artwork, which is thought to be a reference to pro-Palestine protests.
One, Matteo, said he passed by at 8.30am on Monday when the guards were trying to stop people from taking pictures. More staff then arrived with supplies to cover it up. “I think it’s disgusting that they would just cover it up,” added Matteo, who witnessed arrests at a pro-Palestine protest in London on Saturday. “They are clearly afraid of the response this will get.”
Police detained close to 900 people in the demonstration against the banning of the protest group Palestine Action.

François Bayrou ousted as French PM after losing confidence vote
François Bayrou has been ousted in a confidence vote after only nine months as prime minister, collapsing his minority government and plunging France into a political crisis. Bayrou, 74, will hand his resignation to Emmanuel Macron, his longterm centrist ally, on Tuesday morning. The French president now faces the challenge of appointing his third prime minister in only one year, and the fifth since he began his second term of office in 2022. His office said he would make the decision “in the coming days”.
Bayrou was toppled when 364 deputies voted that they had no confidence in the government. Just 194 gave him their confidence. Bayrou had called the vote himself as a last-ditch gamble for support, saying he needed backing from parliament for austerity measures to reduce the public debt. ...
During Monday’s debate, Boris Vallaud called Macron “a defeated president” who he held responsible for “impoverishing the poor, enriching the rich and turning his back on the future”. The Socialist MP said Bayrou’s decision to call the vote was not “an act of courage, but a cop-out”. Mathilde Panot of La France Insoumise, a leftwing party, said Bayrou had been “severely beaten”. She added: “He wanted his hour of truth; he got it.”
As head of state with authority on foreign policy and national security, Macron directly appoints a prime minister to run domestic affairs. But since last year’s election there has been no absolute majority in the national assembly, creating a form of political deadlock and disagreement on the budget. This means there is no certainty that a new prime minister would be safe from being ousted.

Argentinians deliver electoral blow to Milei’s scandal-rocked government
Argentina’s president, Javier Milei, has suffered his worst electoral defeat since taking office, as he faces his administration’s most serious corruption scandal and signs that the economy is slowing. In local legislative elections on Sunday for Buenos Aires province – home to almost 40% of the country’s electorate – the coalition led by the self-styled anarcho-capitalist was beaten by the opposition by 47% to 34%.
The result might have been trivial had Milei himself not given national weight to the vote and even the air of a plebiscite on his government, having previously described it as a “life-or-death battle” against the opposition.
Analysts say that beyond public dissatisfaction with the economic squeeze, Milei was heavily damaged by the recent revelation of an alleged corruption scheme involving the president’s powerful sister, Karina.
“This is not yet the worst moment of the Milei government, but the beginning of its worst moment,” said sociologist Juan Gabriel Tokatlian, noting that on 26 October the president will face an even greater challenge, in midterm elections to renew half the lower house and a third of the senate.
The president acknowledged the “clear defeat” and admittedto having made non-specific “political mistakes” that “we will accept, process and correct”. But he said he would not “retreat by a single millimetre in government policy. The course is not only confirmed: we will accelerate and deepen it even further.”

Trump tariffs bring job destruction
The bogus claims by US President Trump that his economic agenda, based on a tariff war against the rest of the world, would bring a new “golden age” for American capitalism are being ripped apart by jobs data for the economy as a whole and the emergence of mounting sackings across US industry. Figures released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on Friday showed that job creation in the US economy has stalled, with only 22,000 new positions created in August. The number of jobs created in the previous two months was revised down by 21,000. This confirms the trend revealed in the data for July, after which Trump sacked the BLS chief, claiming the figures were “rigged.”
Over the past four months, only 107,000 jobs were created in the US, which is an average of 27,000 per month. Last year, the average was 167,000 per month. Almost all of the new jobs last month, some 48,600, were in social services and healthcare, which rely on government spending. Of the 511,000 net new private sector jobs since January, 453,000 have been in this area. In its report on the jobs data, the Financial Times noted that “evidence of a languishing jobs market is accumulating,” with many of the hardest-hit industries being “the blue-collar sectors that the president vowed to reinvigorate with the dawn of a new ‘golden age’ in America, but which have been hit disproportionately hard by his tariffs as many companies freeze hiring.”
In comments to the newspaper, Erica Groshen, a former BLS commissioner under Obama, said the numbers were “pretty sobering,” and the economy was now “flashing yellow.”
“What we see is that the US economy is essentially not creating jobs,” and that the three-month average change was “basically zero for an economy of the size that we have.” Omair Sharif, an analyst at Inflation Insights, pointed to tariffs as a central factor in the jobs decline in his comments to the FT. “Trade policy uncertainty—and policy uncertainty in general—is causing a pullback in hiring, and it is not clear that will be resolved anytime soon,” he said.
In an editorial comment, the Wall Street Journal, which speaks for sections of the corporate world opposed to tariffs, pointed to the hit they have delivered. “Industries with high tariff exposure shed workers, including manufacturing (-12,000) and wholesale trade (-11,700). Transportation equipment manufacturing lost 14,500, and manufacturing jobs overall this year have declined by 38,000.” Major machinery and farm equipment manufacturers are reporting large hits due to the tariff hikes. ... The Journal reported that “nearly all industries” in an Institute for Supply Management survey last month reported a slowdown arising from tariff uncertainty. It cited one retail company spokesperson, who said that “all decision making is currently dominated by tariff considerations.”
Supreme court lifts restrictions on Los Angeles immigration raids in win for Trump
Federal agents can resume sweeping immigration operations in Los Angeles after the US supreme court lifted an order barring the Donald Trump administration from stopping people solely based on their race, language or job. The court ruled in favor of Trump’s administration, granting a stay against a restraining order from another judge that found “roving patrols” of immigration agents were conducting indiscriminate arrests in LA. The ruling from the conservative majority is a win for the administration in its ongoing effort to enact mass deportations.
US district judge Maame E Frimpong in Los Angeles had found a “mountain of evidence” that enforcement tactics were violating the constitution. The plaintiffs, who said the administration’s approach amounted to “blatant racial profiling”, included US citizens swept up in immigration stops. An appeals court had left Frimpong’s ruling in place. But the Trump administration argued the order wrongly restricted agents carrying out its widespread crackdown on illegal immigration.
The supreme court’s 6-3 decision comes as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agents also step up enforcement in Washington amid Trump’s unprecedented federal takeover of the capital city’s law enforcement and deployment of the national guard. ...
Gavin Newsom, the California governor, condemned the decision, writing that the administration is targeting Latinos and that “Trump’s private police force now has a green light to come after your family.” The ACLU of southern California called it a “devastating setback”.
“In running to the Supreme Court to request this stay, the government made clear that its enforcement operation in Southern California is driven by race,” Mohammad Tajsar, a senior staff attorney at the ACLU Foundation of Southern California, said in a statement. “We will continue fighting the administration’s racist deportation scheme to ensure every person living in Southern California—regardless of race or status—is safe.”
Trump Epstein Letter REVEALED As Republicans FREAK
House Democrats share image of apparent Trump birthday note to Epstein
House Democrats on Monday released an image of a sexually suggestive letter and drawing that appears to bear the signature of Donald Trump, the very same note the president had denied writing after reports of its existence were published earlier this year in the Wall Street Journal. The letter, which was turned over by lawyers for Epstein’s estate in response to a subpoena from the House oversight committee, was included in a set of notes sent to the convicted sex offender for his 50th birthday.
HERE IT IS: We got Trump’s birthday note to Jeffrey Epstein that the President said doesn’t exist.
Trump talks about a “wonderful secret” the two of them shared. What is he hiding? Release the files! pic.twitter.com/k2Mq8Hu3LY
— Oversight Dems (@OversightDems) September 8, 2025
The image showed a letter that in effect comported with a description in the Journal’s report from July. Inside the sketch of a woman’s torso, the note depicts an imagined conversation between Trump and Epstein, with what appeared to be Trump’s signature below.
“The oversight committee has secured the infamous ‘Birthday Book’ that contains a note from President Trump that he has said does not exist,” Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the panel, said in a statement. “It’s time for the president to tell us the truth about what he knew and release all the Epstein files.”
The White House did not immediately comment on the letter, but officials sought to discredit the note. Deputy chief of staff for communications, Taylor Budowich, suggested in an X post carrying a different version of Trump’s signature that the letter or the signature had been falsified. “Time for news corp to open that check book, it’s not his signature. DEFAMATION!” Budowich wrote, referencing the defamation suit that Trump filed against News Corp, the parent company of the Journal, over its original story.
Epstein & JPMorgan: Largest U.S. Bank Enabled His Crimes, NYT Reveals
Mike Johnson claimed Trump was anti-Epstein informant, then retreated amid criticism
In a matter of days, the US House speaker, Mike Johnson, claimed that Donald Trump was an FBI informant who was working to try to take down the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein – then backed away from the confusing statement. Johnson made the baffling claim on Thursday speaking to reporters at the US Capitol. “He was an FBI informant to try and take this stuff down,” Johnson said of Trump.
The remark was so perplexing that it reportedly confused even Trump administration officials. By Sunday, Johnson was walking back his explosive comment. “The speaker is reiterating what the victims’ attorney said, which is that Donald Trump – who kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago – was the only one more than a decade ago willing to help prosecutors expose Epstein for being a disgusting child predator,” his office said in a statement.
Brad Edwards, an attorney who represents several Epstein victims, told reporters Wednesday that Trump had helped him look into claims against Epstein more than a decade ago – but had since done an about-face, according to the Washington Post. He did not say on Wednesday whether Trump had cooperated with law enforcement. ...
A bipartisan House effort, led by the Republican representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Democratic colleague Ro Khanna of California, to force a vote on legislation that would require the justice department to release all files related to Epstein appears on track to have enough votes. The House oversight committee has also issued subpoenas to try to get more information about Epstein.

POLL: Zohran Mamdani DOMINATES On Every Issue

A bid by financial giant BlackRock to acquire a Minnesota electric utility could push up already-soaring utility bills, opponents warn. The private equity firm Global Infrastructure Partners, a division of BlackRock, announced a $6.2bn deal last year to take over the parent company of a Duluth-based electric utility which serves more than 150,000 customers, if the state’s public utilities commission gives the green light. A decision is expected during the first week of October.
Some environmental and consumer protection advocates are exhorting the commission to turn down the proposal, which would see BlackRock become the controlling shareholder of the utility Minnesota Power. “If the deal goes through, it will force ratepayers to be beholden to the private equity agenda: prioritizing profits for executives while raising prices for everyday people,” said Jenna Yeakle, Duluth-based campaign manager with the Sierra Club, said.
BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has previously come under fire for its climate-warming investments. In July, Minnesota’s department of commerce, which initially opposed the purchase, backed the bid from Global Infrastructure Partners and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board to purchase Minnesota Power and its parent company, Allete, after the firms agreed to freeze utility rates for one year and invest in green energy.
Opponents say these provisions do little to assuage their fears. Since rate increases do not currently happen each year, they say the rate freeze amounts to business as usual. And, they add, the commitment to fund renewable power is non-binding. “These capitalist vultures do not have our best interests at heart,” Cody Pals, a member of the tenants union Duluth Tenants, said at a Wednesday press conference.
Brett Christophers, author of Our Lives in Their Portfolios: Why Asset Managers Own the World, said the proposal “looks to be a classic private-equity play: buy, own for a few years and then sell at a profit”. “As such, money will only be invested in decarbonizing Minnesota Power if [Global Infrastructure Partners] thinks that the market will reward it for undertaking that investment when it comes time to exit,” said Christophers, an economic geographer at Uppsala University. That prospect “seems very doubtful, given the negative investor sentiment around all things clean energy-related since Trump’s return to power”, he said.

The Epstein birthday book --
The person responsible for the "sale of a depreciated woman to Trump" and the drawing of the young girls being recruited and later giving JE massages is Joel Pashcow. He obviously knew more of what Epstein was up to than most of the others. He was recruiting young girls and turning them into sex slaves AND selling women to wealthy men. Although not at discounted prices. Wexner and Dubin paid a lot for their wives (and may have had other reasons to enrich EP).
It seems to me that what has gotten missed in the EP thing is that he was a rapist. It was the only form of sexual activity that excited him. This can be seen in the earliest reports (1991 Jess Michaels), Ghislaine's dreary interview, and Maria Farmer's in-depth interview with D-Dan. Underage girls, regardless of the circumstances, are always rape.

it looks like this thing is going to drip out slowly and we will only discover the scale and scope of these rich bastards' depravity after some period of time. the birthday book was a good starting drip, because it demonstrates the coded language and the broad understanding of the participants of the outlines of epstein's crimes.
