Jeffrey Epstein’s little black book is one of the most cursed documents ever compiled in this miserable, dying country. Totaling 97 pages and containing the names, numbers, and addresses of a considerable cross section of the global elite, Epstein’s personal contact book first turned up in a courtroom in 2009 after his former butler, Alfredo Rodriguez, tried to sell it to lawyers representing Epstein’s victims for $50,000. Rodriguez described the book, apparently assembled by Epstein’s employees, as the “Holy Grail.” It is annotated with cryptic marginalia—stars next to certain entries, arrows pointing toward others–and the names of at least 38 people are circled for reasons that aren’t totally clear. There are 1,571 names in all, with roughly 5,000 phone numbers and thousands of emails and home addresses. There are celebrities, princes and princesses, high-profile scientists, artists from all over the world, all alongside some of the world’s most powerful oligarchs and political leaders—people like Prince Andrew (circled), Ehud Barak (circled), Donald Trump (circled).
Rodriguez was Epstein’s butler at his Palm Beach mansion for many years. He was intimately familiar with his boss’s sexual proclivities. He claimed to have seen nude underage girls at Epstein’s pool, said that he would routinely wipe down and stow away sex toys in Epstein’s room after “massages,” and alleged that he saw child pornography on Epstein’s personal computer. In 2011, Rodriguez was sentenced to 18 months in prison for having tried to sell the book to an undercover agent after failing to notify investigators about its existence. Rodriguez said in court that the book was “insurance” against Epstein, who wanted him to “disappear.” Rodriguez died of mesothelioma shortly after serving his sentence.
The public first became aware of the book in 2015, when the now-defunct website Gawker published a version of Rodriguez’s copy, revealing for the first time just how ludicrously connected Epstein was to the people who run the world. Gawker’s file showed only names; attached phone numbers and emails were blacked out. Shortly before Epstein’s mysterious death in August 2019 in his cell at the Manhattan Correctional Facility, an unredacted version of the book popped up on some dark corners of the internet, with almost every phone number, email, and home address entirely visible, and I got my hands on a copy.

Confirms what a NYC former acquaintance of Epstein's wrote about his some time ago. (Can't recall his name, but it might come to me later.) Vicky Ward's VF article is limited but still worth reading.
In Epstein's early days he did have to con people, and a decade on he lived in a crappy NYC apartment. The purchase of his Palm Beach house was key in advancing his relationship with Wexner, but he got the money for that from Tower Financial. In 1991 or 1992 he leased the NYC house of the former Iranian embassy from the State Dept. Lost the lease in 1996 or 1997 when he attempted to sublet it shortly after Wexner gifted him his townhouse.
Wexner and Glenn Dubin paid a lot of money to Epstein -- to hide their secrets or provide the spouses that completed their lives?

Yes. Long before it became
fodder for the child sexual abuse CT set - Franklin Savings, McMartin Preschool, and Pizzagate - it was a curious case in FL that attracted little public attention. Although the lead detective was astounded by the number of victims the investigation found. Sufficient to lock Epstein up for the remainder of his life.
The actions of FL State officials and the Feds made it a more curious case but it was supposed to die with the plea deal and therefore, nobody else would look into it. It almost worked except for a couple of errors. 1) The prosecutor failed to inform the original claimants of the plea deal before it was executed which was a violation of the law. An attorney for at least one of those victims pursued additional legal actions. 2) Virginia Guiffre wasn't informed of the indictment, and therefore was left out of the plea agreement settlement. When she was informed, her only legal recourse was to file a separate civil case which exposed the components that the Feds on instruction from Dershowitz wanted to keep out of the report.
The poor Palm Beach detective had no clue as to why the State and Feds had interfered in his case. CT minded folks always imagine the worst. It was the State Dept being mindful of not embarrassing foreign friends as well as prominent Americans. imho it was the presence of Ehud Barak in the mess that made them interfere. Limit the case to Palm Beach and nobody would think to look at NYC and Barak visiting Epstein's mansion and accepting at least a half million dollars from funds controlled by Epstein. That also spared embarrassing Queen Elizabeth. And Bill Clinton -- a GWB courtesy to a man in their very select club. (I personally don't suspect that any of those men are into underage girls. Doubt that Epstein blackmailed them -- his targets were much wealthier men -- but they were useful for status enhancement.) It's also embarrassing because almost all of Epstein's named associates have ties to Isreal.
None of those involved in the original case thought to consider financial and other illegal matters wrt Epstein. If Maxwell has the goods on any high profile individuals, she would have traded that for leniency.

I've had a long-simmering hypothesis that New York casts an unfairly long shadow over the rest of the empire (and hence, the world), and that its culture is not actually the best that America has to offer; this certainly corroborates that.

His wealth and connections
interacted to some extent to increase his wealth and connections.
No serious and diligent investigator has followed the money. From what I've been able to glean, early on Epstein had the ability to bamboozle men of some wealth, social standing, or position. Such as Barr at the Dalton School when he had no college degree or experience. (He was later fired.) From there, he met Alan Greenberg (children attended Dalton) and was hired by Bear Stearns in 1976. Relatively successful and became in a junior partner in 1981. An SEC violation in 1981 led to his departure and explains why after that he was never a registered stock broker. Probably made decent money during those years but didn't accumulate any wealth.
Became a sole practitioner financial consultant. Stole from at least one client. Not successful but extended his contacts. Remained close to Greenberg and Coyne. (Surprising that he didn't get an in with Drexel, Burnham, ... as that was their go-go years.) Passed himself off as doing all sorts of high level consulting, covert financial stuff, and spy work. All the same bs crap that con-artists throw out there. Kornbluth describes how far Epstein had gotten after five years in 1986. He wasn't wealthy and served a process.
His first potential big scores came in 1987. Steven Hoffenberg and Towers Financial gave him his first stake because both were sleazy and easier to milk. Les Wexner (Victoria's Secret and The Limited) wasn't such an easy mark because he'd been extremely wealthy since the late 1960s. Eptstein had to present himself as financially successful before he gained Wexner's confidence. Tower Financial gave him the means to purchase his Palm Beach house in 1988/89 which signaled wealth. As that was after Epstein had connected with Wexner, the story of how they were introduced isn't true. Why lie?
Wexner was well connected in NYC financial circles and he and his mother were well connected in social and philanthropic circles in Palm Beach and Ohio. What wasn't going well for Wexner was his new, built from the ground up town in Ohio. Soon enough Epstein was offering advice on all of that. Bought a house in Wexner's new village. In 1987 Wexner was fifty years old, never married, and a major supporter of US Jewish causes and Israel. (Not Zionists imho, but keen on advancing Jewish interests.) In 1989, Epstein promoted the purchase of the NYC mansion and selling a NYC apartment building to Mark Epstein. Jeffrey took over managing the remodel of the mansion and Les Wexner.
Epstein appeared wealthier in NYC after he leased Iran's embassy house (1991?) Maxwell was on the scene at about that time and she needed money. Epstein was put in charge of managing Wexner's charitable trusts. These were richly endowed and that gave Epstein clout among non-profit managers and other funders. (Charities file annual federal forms that are publicly available -- I've reviewed most of them, but they and Epstein's own charitable trusts are the only available financial statements on Epstein.) Epstein accumulated the bulk of his capital from 1989 to 1998, but still had additional and substantial income after that.
Note: Les Wexner married in 1993 and had four children. (Other than being much younger than Wexner, his wife is nearly perfect. Attractive, Jewish, licensed attorney)
Glenn Dubin married in 1994. Also attractive and a physician who had some sort of long term association or relationship with Epstein.
I can neither prove nor disprove that almost all of Epstein's income from 1991 on came from Wexner, Dubin, and Leon Black. Entirely possible that others like Wexner and Dubin hired Epstein to perform consulting services as he did for Wexner. A billionaire boys club could easily have funded entities with Epstein distributing the cash. (Such a club wouldn't have included Trump because he's not that charity minded and not Jewish.) I also can't prove or disprove if Epstein facilitated or hid any non-financial dark secrets among those that funded him. imho, Epstein's sexual perversions (rape and rape of underage girls) was kept separate from his financial activities. Although wouldn't discount that he introduced adult women to Dubin and Black.
In 2020 dollars, I'd estimate that he'd reaped a billion from Wexner, 300-400 million from Dubin and 200-300 million from Black. (Note: the arts played a major role in Epstein's ability to milk Black. Mark Epstein played a role in this aspect of Jeffrey's "business." It facilitated his election as Chairman of the NY MOMA. Black is an alumnus of Drexel, Burnham, ...) He "earned" that in the 1987 through 2007 period from Wexner, from early 1990 through 2019 from Dubin, and 2010 through 2019 from Black.
