Album of the Week 4-19-25
Afternoon folks!
Guess what, there's some blues here. Heh. First we've got one of two Luther Johnsons that played in the Muddy Waters band, Luther "Georgia Boy Snake" Johnson, not to be confused with Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson, fronting the Muddy Waters band for his own album. After that blues harmonica player Junior Parker and jazz organist Jimmy McGriff contribute an album. Following that, it's blues guitarist Freddie King finishing off the blues section. Moving on to blues rock, there's an album from Johnny Winter and after that, in a more acoustic country blues vein is a fine album from Jorma Kaukonen and an album from the David Bromberg Band. Finishing off is my personal favorite album by Traffic.
Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!

when i pulled the john barleycorn album out of the basement, it was like finding an old friend. i've listened to it several times since it resurfaced.
have a great weekend!
janis b linked a tune by a brilliant, but
more modern singer, Eva Cassidy, in the Weekly Photo diary. I had to dig out her CD and played it. Cancer got her in only her early 30s. What a loss! Her voice was as clear as a bell. AI has got a long way to go to duplicate human voices of that quality. Great selections, joe!! John Barleycorn Must Die, Traffic was just unbelievably talented!! Did they ever put out a mediocre LP? I don't think so. Rec'd!!.

have a good one!
