Afternoon folks!
It's a good week, we've got a great compilation of Guitar Slim tunes and another compilation of Texas blues with names that Evening Blues readers should recognize amongst them. After that we've got an album of hippie music from the Holy Modal Rounders, an album of soul music from the Staple Singers, an album from a famous unknown guitar player Amos Garrett and we finish up with an album from Richard Thompson.
Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!
Here 'tis:
Guitar Slim ~ The Atco Sessions
Blues As Big As Texas - Vol. 1
Holy Modal Rounders ~ Last Round
Staple Singers ~ City In The Sky

Voters in Brandenburg Germany have started casting their ballots
Interesting facet: the voting age in Brandenburg has been lowered to 16.
Surprisingly, the youngest voters, rather than favoring green-left parties as originally expected, have been polling as the age bracket most likely to favor the right-wing populist AfD (“Alternative for Germany”).

Caveat: DW, like all government-funded broadcasters in Germany, hates the AfD and, in their reporting, shamelessly puts a pretty heavy thumb on the scale to make it look bad and propagandize against it.
The Holy Modal Rounders on the soundtrack of the movie Easy Rider:
Heh, hippie music. ;-)

Holy modal rounders!
Hi Joe,
Holy modal rounders! That was neat. They were very good musicians to do that so well.
The Amos Garrett was interesting too. Ol' whatshisname, been on everything.
Think I'll mosey back to the platter smorgasbord for more...
Thanks for the great sounds man!
