Album of the Week - 5-11-24

Afternoon folks!

We've got some great music this week starting off with Muddy Waters' classic Woodstock album and an album by New Orleans piano player Cousin Joe. After that we've got serious blues-rock with albums from Duke Tumatoe & The Power Trio, Downchild, Roy Buchanan (I think it's his last one) and Creedence Clearwater Revival's Bayou Country. After that we've got DC localish band Root Boy Slim's first album and we finish off with a straight 80's rock album from the Swimming Pool Q's.

Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!

Here 'tis:

Muddy Waters - The Muddy Waters Woodstock Album

Cousin Joe - Cousin Joe From New Orleans

Duke Tumatoe And The Power Trio - I Like My Job!

Downchild - So Far

Roy Buchanan - Hot Wires

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bayou Country

Root Boy Slim & The Sex Change Band With The Rootettes – Root Boy Slim & The Sex Change Band With The Rootettes

The Swimming Pool Q's - Blue Tomorrow

selection. Your music diaries are always emotional picker-uppers. Smile Plenty of that medicine is needed in this nutso day and age. I have that Root Boy Slim LP, too. Got plenty of much intoxicated laffs from it. LOL. Anywho, take care and stay safe! Rec'd!

Hi Joe,

great stack o'disks as always!

I think that was the last of the three Alligator Records Buchanan albums. All three are stellar. I love High Wire, Flash Chordin, Sunset over Broadway, and Goose Grease. To me they are his final four 'N0N-blues' songs. Each unique and fantastic in their own ways. He was really firin' on all cylinders on them. Goose Grease is hilarious... No ever heard anything like the sounds in High Wire or Flash Chordin'! Cuttin' edge pushin' the limits ...

Thanks for the great sounds!

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
