BLM protests and infiltration

According to a recent poll, a quarter of Americans believe that the FBI instigated the January 6 riot, despite a lack of evidence. Were there FBI agents in the crowd? I'd be surprised if there wasn't. But that's not the same thing as, for example, shooting an AK-47 into a police station while yelling "Justice for Floyd!".

On May 27, Ivan Harrison Hunter, 26, traveled from Texas to Minneapolis during the height of last summer's George Floyd protests and fired gunshots in the Minneapolis 3rd Police Precinct while yelling "Justice for Floyd!" on video, according to The Associated Press and The Daily Beast.

According to NBC News, Hunter is a member of a militia group called the Boogaloo Boys that is anti-government and has the goal of starting a second civil war. Court documents suggest that he attended the protest with two other Boogaloo Boys — one of whom was accused of murdering two police officers, according to The Daily Beast.

We've all heard the right-wing rants about our cities burning during the 2020 George Floyd protests, despite two studies that showed the overwhelming percentage were completely peaceful.

A report from the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project estimated that between May 26 and August 22, 93% of individual protests were "peaceful and nondestructive" and research from the Nonviolent Action Lab and Crowd Counting Consortium estimated that by the end of June, 96.3% of 7,305 demonstrations involved no injuries and no property damage.

Of course a video of a police station burning can be just as powerful as a white police officer smothering a black man, for the exact same reasons. A fact that the right-wing exploited. So let's forget anecdotes and instead look at the actual numbers.

President Donald Trump portrays the hundreds of people arrested nationwide in protests against racial injustice as violent urban left-wing radicals. But an Associated Press review of thousands of pages of court documents tells a different story.

Very few of those charged appear to be affiliated with highly organized extremist groups, and many are young suburban adults from the very neighborhoods Trump vows to protect from the violence in his reelection push to win support from the suburbs.
...In thousands of pages of court documents, the only apparent mention of antifa is in a Boston case in which authorities said a FBI Gang Task Force member was investigating “suspected ANTIFA activity associated with the protests” when a man fired at him and other officers. Authorities have not claimed that the man accused of firing the shots is a member of antifa.
...
Two Missouri militia members who authorities say traveled to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to see Trump’s visit in the wake of the police shooting of Jacob Blake were arrested at a hotel in September with a cache of guns, according to court documents. An attorney for one of the men, Michael Karmo, said he is “charged criminally for conduct that many Americans would consider patriotic,” as authorities have alleged his motive was to assist overwhelmed law enforcement.

Three of the men arrested are far-right extremists, members of the “Boogaloo” movement plotting to overthrow the government and had been stockpiling military-grade weapons and hunting around for the right public event to unleash violence for weeks before Floyd’s death, according to court documents.

After aborting a mission related to reopening businesses in Nevada as the coronavirus pandemic raged, they settled on a Floyd-related protest led by Black Lives Matter. Angry it had not turned violent, they brought carloads of explosives, military-grade weapons, to a meet-up about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) from the protest site and pumped gasoline into tanks. FBI agents arrested them before they could act, according to a criminal complaint.

So what did the police say about about the protests? They certainly cracked down on the BLM protests, while right-wingers got a pass.

“The left-leaning protesters believe the same thing: that the police are on the side politically of the right.”
“What we saw with the Black Lives Matter protests was a really massive over-response, and what we saw at the Capitol was a similarly massive under-response,” he said.
The conduct of some police officers during the Capitol siege highlights Maguire’s point.

At least two Capitol police officers were suspended for their behavior during the incident. According to Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio, one of the suspended officers took a selfie with members of the mob, while another wore a “Make America Great Again” hat and directed people around the Capitol building.

Left-leaning protesters are significantly more likely to be arrested than right-leaning ones, according to a 2020 study from Lesley Wood, an associate professor of sociology at York University in Toronto.

According to documents, police knew full-well that the right-wing was going to infiltrate the BLM protests and cause violence.

But while the White House beat the drum for a crackdown on a leaderless movement on the left, law enforcement offices across the country were sharing detailed reports of far-right extremists seeking to attack the protesters and police during the country’s historic demonstrations, a trove of newly leaked documents reveals.

Among the steady stream of threats from the far-right were repeated encounters between law enforcement and heavily armed adherents of the so-called boogaloo movement, which welcomes armed confrontation with cops as means to trigger civil war. With much of the U.S. policing apparatus on the hunt for antifa instigators, those violent aspirations appear to have materialized in a string of targeted attacks in California that left a federal protective services officer and a sheriff’s deputy dead and several other law enforcement officials wounded.

I find it curious that this information was mostly ignored. It's almost as if there is a lot of people that don't want people to know.

State officials said around 80 percent of those arrested in the Twin Cities on Friday were from outside Minnesota. Former FBI agent and CNN commentator, Josh Campbell wrote, that Minnesota “authorities have been monitoring alleged criminals online, including postings by suspected white supremacists trying to incite violence.”

@Tall Bald and Ugly

were in on making the riots happen. Liz Cheney refused to show the testimony from Trump staffers that said he offered the national guard to both Pelosi and the DC mayor and they both turned him down. Why did they do that when they were warned about the real possibility that they would turn violent? Remember when a bunch of black people went to congress and there were armed cops every 2 feet?

Cops escorting the buffoon buffalo man around congress and opening doors for him. Other cops acting like they were playing along.

Lots of evidence if you look for it.

“When there's no fight over programme, the election becomes a casting exercise. Trump's win is the unstoppable consequence of this situation.” - Jean-Luc Melanchon

Or, what can we do about it? Or what will we be allowed to do about it? Right now the only consequences of elections are who is going to shove us around and misinform us the best. We get to vote for who gets the steering wheel, who gets the brakes and who gets the gas pedal. It doesn't matter which road gets taken, all roads end up in Graftsville. We're just odd squealy things that occasionally get run over on the way to profit and power. All the yelling and screaming is for our benefit, it won't apply to those well off enough to stroll around any barrier they put up.

If there is ever any program that would directly benefit us it will be subject to rigorous cost benefit analysis and watered down to nothing. Dubious? Both parties agree to some extent that Social Security is a major cause of the deficit. Not bombs or tax cuts, but a self funded program with a long history. Misinformation tells me so.

They have admitted as much. What they won't say, is how many agents were in the crowd.
