as the news seems to be getting progressively more annoying lately, i've been needing to "stop and smell the roses" more frequently. i hope folks enjoy them.
my trip to Longwood Gardens, but each time you post photos from there, I ask myself why I still haven't gone there myself. What is the last photo? What's coming up there?
They served fiddle head ferns. They didn't really appeal to me, so I passed. Everyone who ate them got sick. Fiddle head ferns are exceedingly difficult to clean and the restaurant served up some bacteria infested ferns.

kind of funny in a decadent way. My neighborhood getting more and more upscale and the food is getting sillier and sillier. We have a new trendy food cart down the street that's called Cave Man and serves exotic meat. There is a store where I buy my' local whole grain bread that now sells fiddle-head ferns.
I'm a health food nut but not a trendy upscale foodie and a lot of this trendy haute cuisine upscale food is frankly almost as inedible as fast food. I do eat local and organic and it's getting harder and harder to find healthy food in the so called healthy lifestyle upscale stores like Whole Food or New Seasons.
Yesterday I found out that Nestle owns Pellegrino which I drink a lot of. I'm so depressed I think I'll go eat some fiddle heads or have a rare goat meat sandwich. Actually I'm going back to shopping at People's a local co-op that has great local produce and no a fiddlehead fern's or goat meat.
I marvel at your photography skills. Many years ago, I had the chance to visit Longwood Gardens and they are spectacular. At the time I went, they had the dahlia show and it was amazing.

it's a fern...
we used to call them fiddlehead ferns, but i'm sure that there's a more correct name for them.
I went to an upscale business dinner

i know that some folks eat them...
but it would seem that in order to thoroughly clean them, you'd have to completely unfurl them which would probably break them up.
Absolutely gorgeious photos

the dahlia show should be coming up in the summer. last year's show was quite nice and i took a couple of "keeper" photos that i'm really happy with.
Thank you--a nice way to end the day! N/T
