How do they do it?

open thread_74.jpg

How do you convince a people to fight an overwhelming force to their last soldier?
The wholesale slaughter of Ukrainian foot soldiers in unending waves of failed assaults is leaving psychological marks on frontline Russian soldiers, who up until now, have considered them brother Slavs.
The 8 year campaign to ethnically cleanse the eastern oblasts of Russian speaking Ukrainians, many of them having lived there for hundreds of years, has forced Russia to intervene under a R2P (responsibility to protect) doctrine used multiple times by the Western powers to stop the genocidal bloodshed.
How is so much hatred generated in a people to want to exterminate their own citizens?
Can it be done here in America?
The concept of divide and conquer has been used for thousands of years in human history. America is already divided into numerous factions. Right/left, conservative/liberal, pious/pagan, rich/poor, rural/urban, race, age.
Now we have multiple genders, multiple sexual pronouns, divides over ICE/electric cars, and a sizable cohort that thinks the moon landing was faked.
And then, murderers who have a problem with flags.
Is it already in progress?
You tell me.
Do the fervent conservatives in America really hate the liberals enough to want to Genocide them? They are the ones with the weaponry. Go to the comment threads of any right-wing site and read for yourself the veiled talk (sometimes explicit)of a coming "open season" on lefties.
Reuters is reporting political murders by rightwing assailants 13 to 1 VS leftwing ones.
Are the Democrats in power really leftists, or catalysts to generate that hatred?
Are there any leftists remaining in America? The current leadership of the Democrat Party are certainly not left wing by a longshot. They can't even talk like an anti-war peacenik out of the sixties.
Moar war all over DC.
Is it their plan to create conditions to start a civil war in America, or Helter Skelter on steroids?
They have done just that in multiple other countries over the long decades.
We are witness to how they do it.
Can we somehow throw a wrench in the works?
Before it happens.
Thread is open.

I have actually read something from Zerohedge with which I can agree wholeheartedly.

Thank you, Col. MacGregor, for finally speaking for me; and doing so in a place where people might actually listen. Once the button gets pushed, there will be no unpushing.

Now, let's see if anybody actually listens to the man. At least Mr. Carlson has a rabid fan base- so we can always hope that a few of them have minds open enough for this little truth bomb to soak in...

in the ZH comment threads are telling.
These are pseudo capitalists verbally rebelling and speaking out.
Hopefully, Corporate America will come to their senses and put pressure on their puppets in DC and bring a halt to this madness.
Thanks for the link.

I've learned that the best way to read 0H is to avoid the comments like the plague that they are. There is sometimes useful stuff there on the front page, as long as you don't allow yourself to be drawn in by the right-of-Atilla-The-Hun, kill 'em all keyboard-warrior commenters.

I rarely visit sites that do not have a comment thread.
Sun Tzu baby.
Know your enemy.
I'll add; know your opponents, your enemies friends, and your friends enemies.
I've posted long before that monitoring sites like Breitbart is tough to read, commenting there it tougher still, but someone has to do it.

...taking place in those comment threads. That's the true caldron of American brew. And it has been slowly transforming. I've analyzed it for many years.

Remember, the stories you read there are almost all gleaned from blogs all over the Internet. Even Caitlin Johnstone and Pepe Escobar are regularly featured there. Only the "Tyler" articles with the Brad Pitt icon are generated in-house. And they tilt to Right Wing ideologies. So, without the commentariat, you are reading the curated scrapings of the unedited Internet.

The comments are the only difference between Zero Hedge and the Internet itself. A few of the commenters are insane animals, but it seems they are not as influential as they once were. Some maturing has taken place there over the years. There are reasonable voices among them. Superior, elite, self-critical. But the rule of the jungle prevails, still. I believe monitoring them can provide occasionally important insights into the distorted American mind. That is, if you can become detached and intellectual, and can maintain the objective perspective of a field anthropologist. The place is fraught with increasingly unpopular views and steadily evolving awareness. It radiates and mirrors the compromised minds of the self-obsessed American animals that occupy this territory in relative isolation from the rest of the world..

Their evolution from extreme hatred of all things Musk, to tolerance of him, to slowly morphing into respect is something to behold.
The same with the war in Ukraine is slowly being re-imagined as a solid part of never-ending war.
It is the slow evolution of thought at each of these varied sites that keeps me enthralled on the entire public commentariat.
Thanks for the great post.

Happy to contribute, Earthling, when there is so much reality-based evidence to work with.

is a contributor as well (if true, of course).

This could be a ruse, or any number of other scams. But if true, it somehow leaves a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth that we might be extending these benefits (SSI, Medicaid, SNAP, TANF) to non-citizens. Especially when a bunch of them are actual dyed-in-the-wool Nazis.

We can't even consistently provide these benefits to our own citizens who have paid for them their entire working lives.

I welcome anyone who has time to investigate and hopefully debunk this- I'm at work and can't invest the time at this moment...

At least they will re-circulate to money here in America.
But I'm not happy about it either.

Nazis are almost always supported as de facto American citizens. Since WWII, the US has always come down firmly on the side of Nazis as opposed to Leftists.

I am glad that you posted this. I highly recommend viewing it in its entirety although it is lengthy but it is quite revealing in various topics with regards to the US and Ukraine.

Hey E1. Hope it's all good out there!

I recall a saying to paraphrase 'what we allow ourselves to do to others, even or especially in war, in a far away place, will one day eventually be allowed to happen to ourselves here'. First it was OK to spy on your foreign enemies, now they spy on us here. And so on. First we ran coups in foreign places, and now... We used to talk of banana republics, elsewhere!

Certainly the media seems to want to be nothing but incendiary about everything, regardless of side.

take care all!

...by the Neocon NAZIs, who were brought into the US after WWII, and, repackaged as 'neocons" they finally got a lasting foot-hold in the US government under Reagan. Forty-plus years later, they now occupy the top positions of authority in the "appointed" government, and they are currently operating the Biden Administration.

Stay or go. This is reality in the United States of America.

propaganda, but there are generations of folklore and such as well as ethnic differences that are included in that folklore. Going well back in time, the area that is western Ukraine has been overrun and settled multiple times by peoples out of the west. Little subtleties creep into everything.
