It's fairly clear there are mass migrations happening now. Not just animals and fish, but increasingly, people too.
For fish, warming ocean temperatures are driving them to cooler waters. The recent triple digit water temperatures off the east coast of the US are bleaching the coral reefs and forcing marine life to migrate north towards the north pole, away from the equator.
People in the middle east are flooding Europe partly as a result of war and famine, but as in Syria in the Great droughts of last century, agricultural collapse is spreading.
Here in America, the masses of migrants at the southern border are increasingly from Central American countries. Here too, drug wars, famine, and economic collapse are driving whole families northward to better climes and work.
It's only going to get worse.
There are many here in America that doubt a warming climate is happening or think that it is a normal cycle that takes thousands or millions of years to make any kind of effect.
To most of them, humans are too puny to make any kind of effect on our giant planet and enormous atmosphere.
Then, there are those who believe climate warming and cooling are a regular occurrence on a years or decadal scale and soon it will reverse itself and begin to cool.
Some believe it is, indeed, human caused but there is nothing we can do about it. Because life as we know and live it will go on, no matter what happens. We will adapt.
Then there are those who stand to benefit greatly from a constantly warming climate.
Who might that be you ask?
Well, what country spans eleven time zones, is largely under snow or ice nearly year-round, has an enormous supply of natural resources, and has a middling size population that is highly educated in the STEM fields?
And while this country supplies a large percentage of the world's grains and fertilizers, a warming climate would open up hugh swaths of farmland. Enough to feed the entire world population.
And keep them warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and a cheap supply of energy to run one of the world's largest manufacturing sectors.
Add to this the opening of the polar route for world shipping and the North/South Transportation Corridor and it becomes clear why the western world is so butthurt to defeat them in Ukraine.
The world's wealthiest oligarchs want to own all of it.
