This needs to be said...

I'm in my late sixties, and our last two Presidents have been,
and/or continue to be, the WORST PRESIDENTS OF MY LIFETIME.
BOTH Trump AND Biden:

- make Eisenhower look charismatic
- make Kennedy look like a still-living saint
- make Johnson look like an anti-war hippy
- make Nixon look law-abiding and honest
- make Ford look like a champion of equal Justice for All
- make Carter look like an economist
- make Reagan look like a genius
- make Bush Sr. look eloquent
- make Clinton look like a friend of the poor
- make Bush Jr. look like he took the job seriously
- make Obama look like a peaceful, Moslem Socialist

Just sayin'...

My husband says it looks like we have a Biden/Trump ticket for 2024, not running in opposition to each other, but as one campaign, as these are the only 2 people our country allows to run for president.

maybe you can give a serious answer: What makes Trump so bad? Sure, he was incompetent and a petty criminal with delusions of being a mastermind, but what makes him worse than Bush the Lesser, Reagan, Nixon, And btw Harding, Wilson, and even Grant, Johnson, or Buchanan? (this is from an argument I had last year, now I add Biden to this list, perhaps to the top - bottom, if the Ukrainian Nazi death cult has its way) By my count that only makes him the tenth worst, (eleventh - give Obama credit for his death count) and hardly more than a footnote in the history of evil.

What makes Trump so bad?

During his presidency and ever since, I have wanted to ask my friends who despise Trump why exactly they hate him. And it's not that I can't think of anything bad that he's done. It's that the Democrats are so much worse.

Why are they so outraged at the things Trump has done but so blind to the things the Democrats have done? That's what frustrates me.

@Linda Wood

But a lot of the reasons why people thought Trump was worse than any other president was because of how much the democrats and their media mouthpieces lied about him. Either made him look like he was worse than he was or didn’t report on the things that made him look like he wasn’t doing what every other president has done.

Caitlin says it better than I can.

For example he was called Putin’s puppet even though he ramped up tensions with Russia much more than Obama did. Plus when he garbled a sentence and wasn’t coherent they made up their own version of what he meant. Take the story of him telling people to inject bleach to get rid of the Rona when what he meant was that sunlight would provide vitamin D. And he never said that there were good people on each side that they said meant he was praising the neo Nazis when before he said that he denounced the people who spouted anti Semitism and there was no place in the country for racism.

As for those who praise him for not starting any new wars, he dropped more bombs than Obama did. Lowered the rules of engagement for the military and lots of other horrible things that Caitlin covers in her essay.

I find it weird that the democrats and media despised many of the things he did, but they are all very silent about Biden continuing the same things that he did. And

But is Biden one of the two worst?
I think Bush The Younger was worse than Biden
Obama was probably worse too. And Clinton too.

Of course it's all relative. A d minus is better than an f, but not much.

One of the biggest reasons is because his brain is gone.

A reporter Sunday evening asked Joe Biden why he negotiated with McCarthy on the debt ceiling after previously vowing not to.

Biden snapped at the reporter and insisted he didn’t compromise on the debt ceiling.

“If you want to try to make it look like I made some compromise on the debt ceiling, I didn’t. I made a compromise on the budget,” Biden said.

Yeah sure okay…here’s dark Brandon getting the best of McCarthy. Who cares if people have to jump through more hoops just so they don’t die of starvation. Imagine making defense companies jump through hoops to show that they aren’t price gouging the government and tens of billions more in costs. Or gawd forbid closing loopholes that companies use to get out of paying taxes.

But shitlibs are cheering dark Brandon for sticking it to republicans! Swell job, Joe. Didn’t you say that you would insist on a clean debt ceiling?

I think though that Clinton is a close second to Biden because of the damage he did to the country, but Biden was right beside him to vote for what Clinton got passed. Both Clinton and Obama offered up social security and Biden was right next to both of them.

...in the eyes of the world with the "Chinese Spy Balloon" incident and subsequent F16 missile attacks against various weather balloons.

Suddenly, the whole world ran for the exit. De-dollarization went full-speed ahead. China's President refused to accept any more phone calls from the US president. major economies of the global South lined up to join the BRICS union, oil no longer forced to sell in US Dollars, documents leak showing Ukraine proxy war expected to fail, tens of billions of dollars sent to Ukraine with nothing to show for it, high level resignations at the State Department and Pentagon, desperate US proxy attempts to assassinate Putin — as if that would erase the failure, US sanctions ignored by majority of the world, positive GDPs for Russia and China, banks failures in the US and Europe, peak fracking downside for US natural gas while pipelines that carry cheap natural gas to Europe blown to smithereens, spring came and went in Ukraine without a military 'offensive.'

BRI2023.jpg

The neocons flooded the White House in the Reagan years and were locked into positions of covert power ever since. The revocation of the Fairness Doctrine marked the beginning of the brainwashing of the US population, followed by the subsequent losses of the rights and regulations that were in place to protect the people and society from the greed of the plutocrats and oligarchs. All presidents since then have been herded by the Intelligence community and AIPAC. All of them have betrayed the interests and well being of the American People. The People are corralled by government/media narratives and are mentally incapable of protecting themselves.

and LBJ was only A+ on domestic policy and an F on foreign policy. (A+ because of his starting point and end point. More work needed to be done, but no POTUS can be expected to everything done all at once.) All of his successors have done their best to kill off the "New Deal" and score an F on domestic policy. Meanwhile, couple only and intermittently improved on foreign affairs to at best a C-. Most squandered real opportunities to improve on that failing grade, and therefore, get a D. GWB and Biden get an F.

Trump gets an F on domestic affairs because of yet another tax cut for the wealthy and belligerently stoking needless divisions among the population. All presidents begin with preexisting financial inequality, racism, sexism, etc., and as a nation in 2008, we scored at best a C- on those measures. Obama's election pushed that up to a C. Then for eight years he squandered that bump and it was back to a C-. Trump slashed that to a D or D+ (within the population as a whole, these needles move slowly). Biden's team (nobody should be deluded enough to think that Biden is running anything, same with Reagan by 1983) hasn't improved on this. Howeever, the absence of the "twitter thumb" bellowing nonsense leading half the nation to give a thumb's up and the other half an OMG response is an emotional relief.

But Biden still has time left to get his nuclear war on and forever end any need to grade US presidents.

but in the 6th grade I read or saw something on TV about it. (1960 or 1961) So, I asked my teacher (one of the best) why we didn't do that drill. She said, "We don't bother with useless exercises." Don't know if that was a CA public school policy by then or it had never been done in CA schools.

I do worry about and feel sorry for children today that do "active shooter" drills. Being on hyper-alert all the time isn't healthful.

"Duck and Cover" drills, right after seeing the movie, when I was in elementary school. They stopped showing it when I made it to 4th grade, but it certainly left a mark. They called them "tornado drills" after that- but I could still see Bert the Turtle with his little CD helmet, and hear that cheery tune...

That movie was a spectacular success, if you goal was to seriously fuck up little kids for the rest of their lives. That was the genesis of my white-flash nightmares (that persist to this day).

we had a drill where we all lined up and walked to the "fallout shelter." It had a window. The next time we had a "drill" it was called an "air raid shelter" and the next time after that we were told to line up in the center hall of the building. There were no more "drills" after that.
