Cash
I've been contemplating a future cashless society where the greenback is worthless and all transactions are made with a credit or debit card.
A world where your paycheck is direct deposited into your bank account and all bills will be sucked right out of your account.
Tips at your favorite restaurant will be automatically added to your bill.
Pocket change will become a thing of the past.
What will happen to the neighborhood garage sale? The local flea market?
Will all the homeless panhandlers at the offramps disappear?
What will the Toothfairy leave under your pillow?
How will we get our cash discount at gas stations if we go all digital money?
I just cannot see all digital society becoming successful. Not without giving every single citizen an account with card to navigate life.
So a universal basic income is going to have to be a reality, issued with a SS number probably tattooed at birth.
Gives new meaning to the term "pennyless".
The thread is open.
Wadda ya say?

Dawgs…you gotta love them

Spotty service. Takes forever to download images.
Will ck out later, presume it's Sam, right?
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.

Not just Sam
But dawgs everywhere. She says words that her dawg knows what they mean and it’s how he responds to them. It’s really a hoot. I can whisper asking Sam if she wants to get my shoes and she jumps 2 feet straight up. Instead of pulling when she’s on her leash she just jumps up like she is on a trampoline. It’s very funny. Boing….

Howdy y'all!
Hey E1, Hope all is well out there!
I can't hang, gotta get back in the salt mine... but you set this off...
I am waiting for the banksters and Fed to drop this as our new national anthem...
The original methinks was the Clovers 1954. Gerald Johnson is on bass, which is amazing on the studio version (The Joker album), but buried in this mix. Playing a right handed bass left handed. The guy was incredible. Steve was a guitarists guitarist. I saw them in '74, a couple months after this vid I would guess, at the Cal State Univ. Long Bch. Auditorium. My elbows were on either side of Steve's mic stand. One of the best guitar lessons I ever saw, I remain mind-blown. Great singer too.
I am cash poor so will be in deep Bandini when that shat hits the fan... so its back to da grind...
Have good days all!

One of my favorite albums. Still listen to copies in every format.

Your salt mine comment is so apropos.
I'm thinking of America as a large "company town".
Thanks for stopping by.

If they take away our money (devalue)
then we will need to make our own local currencies
trading chits or something
the fed and banksters want it all for themselves
this will not go well
thanks for the OT and enjoy your farm out man

Heh, hola QMS. When I ws a teen, we often called cash
"cowrie", maybe we'll all need to switch to da kine real thing.

Don't know what's going to happen
But China's ahead of the curve with a digital economy. Guess we need to keep a close eye on them.
When we see Yuans disappear there will be a watershed moment.
I see the possibility of using pre-1964 silver coins or ammo as currency. Maybe even vegetable seeds.

I think this is what will happen...
We'll be trading tit for tat and so on. The local store will take stones, or whatever, as 'cash'. The government will work even harder on taxing people who trade stuff for stuff... bleh.

Good morning Earthling1. Just back from errands.
Here's a potentially relevant passage frum da wiki:
Here's Cornell:
Constitution prohibits any state from making anything other than gold or silver "Legal Tender"
just something to mull over

Some very interesting passages there
Checks or CC are not legal tender?
Gold and silver only per Constitution?
Humm.
Thanks for the interesting post.

Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.
Only the states are restricted to making gold or silver
legal tender (Article 1 Section 10). The phrase isn't mentioned iirc in discussing congress' authority , but
Article 1 section 8 says: Congress has the power ...
(There's nothing about the FED in the Constitution)

So, since individuals are not states
We are not prevented (by the constitution) to coin value scripts.
Don't tell wall street. De-dollarization comes home to roost.

TPTB
might come under IRS scrutiny. We know we all will. How will they skirt the issue? They must have it all planned, since the digital currency is what they want. For the greater good.
I will suggest that if any of you planned on going to see some sight, like a national park or monument, do it now, because you might find if you travel too much, your fancy new card won't work to buy anything, just about the time you are driving through a desert.
And, the magic card might not work on meat purchases. Or booze. Or birthday cakes. Or a cheap used gas guzzling truck. Or going to cattle auction to buy a bull for your herd.
Let the back lash begin!
Thanks for the OT, earthling1. Lots to think about. Very important subject. Life changing, in fact.
"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
Will have to legalize all drugs and transactions
The drug trade is cash driven even legal ones as I understand that banks cannot legally open accounts for pot stores. Went to one, and had to pay them cash as their accounts closed. I think we might be talking billions if not hundreds of billions in cash transactions just in America. Are we looking at Mexican cartels becoming the next freedom fighters?
I have wondered about the drug trade
Fact is, cops make money from it. I know cops that did. personally.
Does anyone think the cops didn't turn a blind eye towards booze during Prohibition?
