So, Fox and Tucker Carlson have parted company. Upon mutual agreement apparently.
I'm not really surprised as Carlson has grated against the ideology of The Fox narrative for sometime now.
I could be wrong, but it seems like his base leans toward the Deplorables end of the spectrum. The same cohort boycotting InBev/Budweiser over the Trans ad campaign. Trump supporters.
But Carlson has a left wing following because of his anti-war and defense spending views.
He definitely has his finger on the poor and working-class American zeitgeist, and some of the dwindling middle class.
So where does he go now? Certainly not MSNBC or other state media. With the threat of the Restrict Act pending over all dissent, many, if not most far-flung corners of the inter-tubes will not be safe to speak or even hold a conflicting view of TPTB.
The Information Age is coming to a close. Where will we get our information from in the future?
Will garage printing presses become the new underground?
As long as there are tons of fliers, hand bills, and advertising "newspapers" stuffing my mailbox daily, there will always be printing equipment, ink, and paper to print on available.

Long ago I was a fan of Keith Oberman, until he was silenced. The same with Cenk Uygur/ Young Turks until he sold out for riches. And I wasn't a particular fan of Alex Jones or Don Lemmon. But I can see a definite pattern here.

I do not see how an election with actual opposing candidates could take place without someone being charged with the crime of disseminating misinformation and fomenting civil unrest.
In fact, it will be dicey for debates on any future bills fraught with the possibility that criticizing an existing law, rule, or order, could jeopardize the debater.
This law has the potential of putting us in a prison of silence and acceptance so as to avoid a cage.

detailing the Act's content. What struck me about it was the way criminal activity, such as disseminating misinformation, could be construed as merely calling out a government policy as being unfair or unwise, or posting such criticism made by another on social media, just might be a crime. It could have such a chilling effect on not only dissent, but also criticism of the government, having a debate about government policy, or discussing someone else's debate, all of which could land you in jail.
Surveillance of all things internet will bring an end to a lot of sites and even channels, so the Information Age will come to a screeching halt.
It has bipartisan support, and iirc, Biden has indicated he will sign it.

would want to hook up w another big corp with their big restraints on content. He should go indy podcast and he could probably take 1-2m of his current audience for starters. Or he could hook up with the light-touch Spotify as Joe Rogan did, probably for a huge payday. He already has a substantial inheritance from Daddy, so no financial worries wherever he lands.
I suspect his audience is younger (than the typical >65 Fox audience) and primarily Libertarian type Rs, Indies of a traditional conservative/America First nature, and harder Right types with only one foot in MAGALand. Maybe some younger indy Ds too.

My first reaction to your query was the word "Jail".
This has always been the reaction of this nation, since even before it was a nation. The members of Congress re allowed to say anything they want, in Congress, without fear of arrest - that is in the Constitution, and it was put there for a reason. The rest of us may dissent as much ass we see fit, from within the confines of a jail or prison cell, but that's about it.
