An Insane Level Of Censorship Regarding Seymour Hersh

I knew that the MSM was censoring Seymour Hersh, but I dramatically underestimated it.

Scores of hits from publications across the globe pop up from an internet search for veteran investigative reporter Seymour Hersh’s claim that the US destroyed Russia’s Nord Stream gas pipeline.

But what is most striking about the page after page of results from Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo in the weeks following the February 8 posting of Hersh’s story isn’t what is there, but what is not to be found:

The Times of London (2/8/23) reported Hersh’s story hours after he posted it on his Substack account, but nothing in the New York Times.
Britain’s Reuters News Agency moved at least ten stories (2/8/23, 2/9/23, 2/12/2, 2/15/23, among others), the Associated Press not one.
Not a word broadcast by the major US broadcast networks—NBC, ABC, CBS—or the publicly funded broadcasters PBS and NPR.
No news stories on the nation’s major cable outlets, CNN, MSNBC and Fox News.

It's not often that you see shoulder-to-shoulder uniformity in the media. From DuckDuckGo to Fox.
Let's take a moment and consider how Hersh, the greatest journalist of our lifetime, is being 100% censored by the private media companies (not the government)for the crime of practicing journalism.

get our news and opinions. Slipstream not mainstream. Wink

that got splattered in Bagdad by an American gunship hardly registered a complaint from corporate headquarters. And nothing reported in American MSM. Thanks to Julian Assange the world knows.
When Jamal Khashoggi was cut up we heard nothing much from his employer, the Washington Post or its owner Besos.
Now they are going after Tucker Carlson. Will Fox step up to defend him?
It is clear, the MSM knows their place. Don't rock the boat.

It's really weird. Once you notice one thing off, it all starts to look off. It's all there, but you have to look for it. No one is broadcasting warning signs in the mainstream, there can be no other reason for that.

If it was easy, everyone would do it.

When undeniable reality clashes with Empire’s curated narratives, risible absurdities are sure to follow. Like the US announcing that a handful of pro Ukrainian Russian nationals and rented sailboat were responsible for the Nordstream sabotage. Seriously?

Only in America is the population so thoroughly propagandized that the utter absurdity of the claim is not immediately dismissed.

Mission Accomplished.

is testifying in Congress this morning regarding censorship and government control of social media and the news media. While it does not mention Hersh, and focuses on The Twitter Files, he might bring up the subject in the question/answer segment.
Government directs what is and is not in all media. There is no doubt the Government has directed the media to steer clear of the Hersh bomb shell expose'.

...published an announcement that unnamed sources from the top Leadership of the US Intelligence Community have discovered that a secret Pro-Ukraine group — which is unaffiliated with the Ukrainian government — are the ones who bombed Nord Stream 2.

That's the official word from the CIA Mouthpiece NYT — and they are sticking to it. Everything else is a conspiracy theory.

Anyone who says that it’s only the media that is ignoring the Hersh story and not the government making sure that they do hasn’t been paying attention to the Twitter files or what happened way back during the Russia gate saga. Lots of people here knew that it was leading to censorship. Now the shitlibs are telling the general to censor anyone who doesn’t parrot the government line on what they think the truth is. Misinformation kills! Damn right it does. Safe and effective is not only misinformation, it’s a lie. Effective means you don’t have to keep taking jabs over and over and still getting infected.

This needs some serious attention.

New Bill Would Classify Conservative Speech As 'Domestic Violence Extremism

Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson is aggressively pushing legislation that would establish a 13-member panel to determine what constitutes disinformation and misinformation rising to the level of “domestic violence extremism,” according to The Center Square. The panel would also collect data on incidents of their pickings of domestic violent extremism and classify noncriminal activities or speech as such.

Free speech advocates blasted the bill for targeting conservatives and criminalizing anyone who expresses an opinion that runs counter to a regime-approved narrative.

“This commission is specifically designed to target conservatives and quash any government opposition, which is why the legislation purposefully ignores Antifa and Black Lives Matter extremists. Indeed, it expressly supports those tactics,” wrote Seattle KTTH talk-show host Jason Rantz, who called it “the most dangerous bill in legislative history.”

Taibbi had company in his testimony to congress.

America's Secret Censorship-Industrial Complex

Over the last three months, a small group of independent journalists, including Leighton and I, have, thanks to the Twitter Files, exposed the ways in which social media platforms have, under pressure from U.S. government agencies, censored ordinary Americans and spread disinformation.

Today, at 10 am ET, journalist Matt Taibbi and I will testify before Congress and reveal the existence of a secret censorship-industrial complex in the United States.

Our findings are shocking. A highly-organized network of U.S. government agencies and government contractors has been creating blacklists and pressuring social media companies to censor Americans, often without them knowing it.

We and others have already reported on some of the actions of this complex, including its disinformation campaigns. But the extent of its censorship was unknown to us until very recently. And, as importantly, we now understand the ways in which this complex simultaneously spreads disinformation and demands censorship.

What my 68-page testimony to Congress shows is an effort by U.S. government intelligence and security agencies to wage “information warfare” against the American people.

….
The censorship industrial complex combines established methods of psychological manipulation, some developed by the U.S. military during the Global War on Terror, with highly sophisticated tools from computer science, including artificial intelligence. The complex’s leaders are driven by the fear that the Internet and social media platforms empower populist, alternative, and fringe personalities and views, which they regard as destabilizing. Federal government officials, agencies, and contractors have gone from fighting ISIS recruiters and Russian bots to censoring and deplatforming ordinary Americans and disfavored public figures.

Importantly, the bar for bringing in military-grade government monitoring and speech-countering techniques has moved from “countering terrorism” to “countering extremism” to countering simple misinformation. The government no longer needs a predicate of calling you a terrorist or extremist to deploy government resources to counter your political activity. The only predicate it needs is simply the assertion that the opinion you expressed on social media is wrong.

Information warfare…that’s a excellent description of what has been happening and it has gotten worse since Obama rescinded the anti propaganda act just in time for the government and intelligence agencies to lie to us about Trump, Putin and Russia. I’m still working my way through the 2nd essay.

Also remember that any president can order you arrested and thrown in prison without access to a lawyer or a trial. Isn’t that just what we are seeing with the number of people who were at the capitol on 1/6? At least they have had access to a lawyer and will eventually get a trial, but they are being labeled as domestic terrorists which is probably why the event was allowed to happen without adequate security. Schumer said again yesterday that 5 cops were killed during the riots, but that isn’t true. And one cop that they said had been killed was videod after the time he was supposed to have been.
