Speechless

open thread_31.jpg

Welcome back everybody.
Whew! That was a close one. Going days without a dose of C99% was pushing me to consider what I had done to deserve this.
Was it something I said?
Did TPTB get offended by something they read here? I can't imagine them even visiting our little community of odd intellects. I say odd intellects for want of a real description or label that fully fits our little group of truth-seeking dissidents.
The community itself is a mix of center right/left to leftist to socialist lite with a dash of rightwing thrown in for seasoning seems to me. But all these terms have been changing over the decades and no longer resemble what they were 50 years ago.
The democrats in the 60s were anti-war, anti-integration (George Wallace anyone?) pro labor, and staunch supporters of the poor, sick, and the aged.
The Republicans were pro-business, pro war, anti-labor and union, pro segregation, and could not care any less for the poor and the sick but pandered to the aged solely for votes.
Today the two parties seem to have merged into one big clique of mammon worshiping have a lots.
There is no Anti-war faction of real potence. Anti- integration/segregation have been turned into a battleground of distraction, the working man is growing closer to wage slavery, unions have been beaten down to near irrelevancy, the poor and sick have been completely monetized, and the aged are threatened with destruction of SS and Medicare.
I don't consider myself Republican or Democrat, conservative or liberal, right or left wing, and certainly not in the middle of any of them.
I am a freedom loving, Bill of Rights worshipping, taxpaying, law-abiding citizen of the U.S.A.
And I want to know where the hell my Constitution disappeared to.
If anybody knows please give me a clue in he comments below.
This really late OT in open.

I guess they are working out the re-write

or political leanings do not remotely fit my personal beliefs.
I, too, believe in the Bill of Rights, and I see no way to preserve them.
I am furious the way the rich and powerful discuss depopulation as though they have some non-economic basis for the specific number they all agree is the goal population. They insinuate who and what they have determined to be the fortunate survivors. They haven't openly said how they will arrive at the magic, pulled out of their ass, number. I had no part in I putting them in charge. Who did?
No rich and powerful person suggest any climate change policy that affects them. The best campaign they have had thus far is to make every day folks ashamed of washing their clothes too often and bringing cloth bags to the grocery store. There is no intelligent plan to save the planet.
I went looking for a Saturday OT. It was sorely missed.
Thanks.

It was the precursor to our own Constitution.

The symbiotic relationship between Kaianerek:wa, or Spirit of Law, and Kaianerenhserak:wa, as Rule of Law has been usurped.
I can't help conflating the Haudenosaunee vision of government as the North American equivalent to Confucianism.

You said it perfectly and I have nothing else to add. The sad news is that our government nullified our constitution long ago but didn’t tell us about it. Everything that they are doing now that we think is unconstitutional they gave themselves permission to do. The patriot act, the FISA abuses and Obama’s rescinding habeas corpus were done in the open, but without our permission. However there are a slew of bills that they wrote in secret but they were arrogant enough to post them where we can find them. And so far no court has said that they are unconstitutional. Probably because all aspects of government have been captured by the oligarchs that bribe the people who swear they will uphold the constitution. I don’t think corrupt people’s actions should be upheld.

Guess I had something to add after all.

Great essay!

Our government has been captured. It doesn't matter if by domestic, foreign or even alien powers, it's not under our control at all.
We are just along for the ride still thinking we matter. I'm reminded of the baby car seats with the little steering wheel.
We may as well have pacifiers in our mouths. Heh, we already have the masks.
Thanks for stopping by.

Food for thought....why do most polls usually come out in the 50/50
range, when the Princeton study shows it as a 60/40 70/30 on issues
that americans want

@GreatLakeSailor
how precarious our situation is.
We really need some kind of backup system that we all could determine if the outage is temporary or permanent, local or WW, DDOS or outright ban.
What's possible?

According to an independent polling website with an online questionnaire, those were the presidential candidates who best matched my views back in the day (2007–2008).

Today? Who knows? Tulsi Gabbard? “Ye” (Kanye West)?

Sadly, Bernie Sanders has been off my list for some time now, with his latest discouraging action being his slandering anti-war protesters as being paid by Russia.

Still all I see is the Uniparty. Their basis is capitalism for every aspect of our lives. Capitalists, if they can't control the manufacture of goods, services or even creativity they will insert themselves in the middle of all transactions to extract profit. If it's against policy, policy will be changed, or twisted to create loopholes.

The big thing is the financial industry. I don't think Bezos or Musk or Gates sit down and think this up all by their lonesomes. There is an army of MBAs 8-10-24 hours a day combing the regs, bending the rules, mining data, lobbying the pols, getting judges elected. Sometimes it feels like if you want to save America, nuke Harvard and the Harvard wanna-be's.
