Well, some good news
for me, anyway- my knee replacement surgery and PT is going really well. Today marks one month to the day from the whittling session. I have full extension, 130deg+ flexion, and am walking unaided with essentially no discomfort, let alone pain. I'm doing 10 mile bike rides and 2 mile walks already, and am handling the residual discomfort with CBD- not even aspirin. In short, the thing feels better than it has since 1970, when I first donated it to the sport of football.
The surgery has proven to be a literal time machine, and I cannot wait to get the other one done now. I'm really regretting putting it off for so long- but I couldn't bring myself to believe the success stories, because it seemed that I never get that lucky.
PT is the key, of course. I could even do squats now, if my other knee wouldn't scream at me so much. When the other one is done, I might even try running- which I have not voluntarily done in decades...
So there's one happy thing in the midst of all the carnage and chaos, anyway. Be safe out there, everybody!

The dude is seriously top shelf-
he's the team knee guy for all the local pro sports teams like the Avalanche, Rockies, and whatever they call the football team (I forget. Maybe if they would win now and again, I'd remember), as well as the majority of the local colleges and the US Olympic Training Center down in the Springs. If he can do downhill ski racers and halfbacks, he's good enough for me. I'm extremely lucky to live in a place that's a hub for that sort of work, and to do my rehab in the same facility as those high-zoot folks.

Another reason
for the civilian evacuations is that UKR is pounding the Kakhovskya hydroelectric dam.
If that dam is breached there will be massive flooding and loss of life. Is UKR that desperate for a Win? I think so.
Russia has been responding to this alarming threat by lowering the water level and the evacuations.
