Someone in Portland, Or. tagged a Jewish Deli with a swastika and the news media is going ape shit over it. All four local news stations are reporting it every news segment with suspiciously similar scripts.
They are all national news affiliates that we are all familiar with.
At the same news segments, they breathlessly go on about the women's rights protestors in Iran being beaten down over hair coverings or some such.
And much anguish is expended over 11 civilians being killed is a massive missile attack by Russia on Western Ukraine infrastructure.
But they don't speak of the hundreds of billions of dollars America gives the Nazi dominated regime in Ukraine to kill or otherwise "ethnic cleanse" the Donbass region of Eastern Ukraine for the last 9 years. Or the tens of thousands of civilians whose major crime is speaking Russian.
They never speak of the failed Equal Rights Amendment of 1923 that would have given women in America equal pay with men. Nor the 1972 ERA which was never ratified. And the 2021 Act is still on hold for reasons.
Now the battle over who controls a women's body is being treated as a settled matter favoring the state and their fundamentalist backers.
Does anyone see a pattern of hypocrisy here, or is it just me?

that the reason Chechnya is now fully in Russia's camp is back during the
war the Chechnyan religious leader was killed by the force not aligned with
Russia but aligned maybe with the CIA? His son is now fully aboard with Vlad

So the last time the big adjustment in fed foolery caught us
somewhere around 1980, our 401K 'savings' tanked. My wife lost about $65K overnight.
I would really like to avoid a replay, but have no idea how to go about it. Best guess would
be to change a chunk into physical silver and get out of the market all together.

I have no idea. At this point, I only put into the 401k what my employer will match- I can't see passing up the free money (on paper, anyway). But not one more dime than that, from hard experience. I never expect to actually *see* any of it, in any case.
At least my wife and are now both well older than 59-1/2, so that we can move funds around without taking it in the shorts from the early-withdrawal penalties. I'm still very slowly paying off the tax bill from having had to empty my 401k to try and save the ranch back in the teens crash. Should have just left the keys in the mailbox and moved out- by now, enough time has passed that our credit rating (as some wag said, the Yuppie's substitute for their immortal soul) would have recovered, and maybe some of that would still be there. All gone now, though. Bygones...

The thing with rolling over an IRA into a different commodity, it has to be an approved
type of transfer. The investment company is going to get their pound of flesh no matter,
but the IRS penalties for early withdrawal is rather steep. 20% +/-.
Another way to get screwed. If we could roll over the deferred tax liability into a rooftop
solar array, an old tractor, or something useful, I would do it in a heartbeat. But these types
of investments do not equate to financial instruments covered under their rules.
Perhaps it doesn't matter? I get taxed on my social security income (again) anyway.
Imagine they will do the same for IRA cash-outs too. Friggin' pirates.

There is a loophole for early retirement that mitigates that penalty and then the generous Federal Tax Credits available for such things as solar arrays, electric cars, modern HVAC systems, window & insulation improvements on your home can be made to work to your advantage.
I have used the tax credit by upgrading to a geothermal HVAC system, window upgrades, added attic insulation, and an electric car.
And I just discovered I can buy another EV (once a year) and receive the same $7500 tax credit.
It's sad, but wherever there is a big pile of money (SS, Medicare, pension funds, bank savings accounts), the white collar criminals (Congress, Corporate America, Wall Street) will come to steal it.
Piles of money draw them like flies to suit.

I would love to see
a Peace Party. Single issue: don't touch Gawd, guns, gays, neolib-style wokeness, culture wars, or any of the other third rails. Have no opinion on the artificial wedge issues, and call them out as such. If there was to be any other current issue anywhere near the front, use the "peace dividend" to protect Social Security at all costs, and get COLA adjustments to reflect reality. Once there's peace, and some shelter against cat food for seniors, then perhaps a bottom-up approach to livability makes sense down the road: minimum wage and all that.
But first, peace. Period. After there's peace, perhaps gutting the MIC's infinite slop trough might be in order. None of this Yang-style gobbletygook.

I just read what shitlibs are saying about Russia’s weapons
and how after this latest barrage they are once again running out of them for sure now and also how they aren’t any good because they miss their targets. Lol…yesterday there was a tweet about how Russia tried to blow up a pedestrian bridge and missed, however they weren’t targeting the bridge but the building right next to it which indeed went boom while the bridge remained unscathed. MoA recently showed how long the mainstream media has been saying that Russia was low on bombs and that the country low on bombs just sent over 100 on both Monday and Tuesday. This propaganda crap has twisted lots of minds and when they are shown the truth they don’t believe it. Just absolutely amazing.
