HEY! It's May Day, Damnit
There are two aspects of the date that I feel compelled to address.
First, as Lookout informed us this morning, "Mayday" was adopted as the universal distress signal, which is quite appropriate in that it is an approximate phonetic variation of the French "M'aidez", which means "Help Me". Arguably the site doesn't need a ton of help due to the tireless efforts of JtC to keep it up and running, BUT, financial assistance is another matter, and this site runs entirely on our donations and, in fact, a couple of regular contribution streams just stopped, so "Mayday" is arguably more appropriate now than it usually is. In the upper left corner, below the search box is a yellow oval containing the word "Donate" for making one-time and monthly donations, followed by a link to "donation info". I strongly suggest that everybody give serious consideration, circumstances permitting, to pitching in and helping out. Thank you.
Second, it is, as Lookout also informed us, World Labor Day. As I noted above, JtC has labored constantly since he created the site to keep it up and running, to keep it ad free and user supported to keep trolls out and bounce them if they sneak in and much more. It is said that "The workman is worthy of his hire" and that is more than true here, and I can assure you that JtC has been vastly undercompensated every day since the site went up. For that reason, if nothing else, we need to look into increasing his remuneration. This is best done by attending to that little "Donate" button up in the upper left. You'll be glad you did.
thank you for your attention

A resounding "Amen"
...it is Sunday after all.
Thanks. I meant to put in a reminder, but got distracted.

It is my birthday today.
I made it to 70, despite being given a prognosis that I would not live past 15.
I fooled those damn doctors, and have a respect for some of them, but I always get a second opinion on anything they tell me.
I will party this week, and enjoy The Rockies.
Take good care, EL.

Enjoy The Rockies. Maybe we'll get to see a few of the sights you enjoyed.
We packed a camera,
Colorado is just full of both natural beauty and my academic favorite thing: history. I love visiting when it is not dumping 92 inches of snow during the winter.

Happy birthday!
Not too far behind you, and hope to make it there as well...
I always have a little smile on May Day, because it reminds me of an old flame of mine from my semi-carefree college days. It comes in the form of a rhyme: "Hey hey, the first of May: outdoor fucking starts today...". Good times!
Twice bitten, permanently shy.
Yay! You made 70!
Congratulations on this achievement! Say high to the Rockies for me
