My office keeps a monitor tuned to CNN 24 hours a day. No audio. This is a brief note to say that Hillary is on CNN being interviewed. Her dress is green. The vases are green. The walls are green. A sick pea green. It looks like barf. Fitting for Her Hillariness.
Is using the term "let's not be catty" to a woman sexist? If you are a woman telling a woman not to be catty, is the woman saying it being catty? Why is ok to talk about the orange hairball and not ok to talk about the shellacked coif of the Mad Bomber. Is excepting Hillary's appearance from remark being sexist?
Being mindful that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, everyone's look, speech, and manner make an impression on others. Hillary does not made a good impression on anyone under 45 55 65. I wear pants all of the time, but I don't wear tops down to my knees with stand-up collars. Hillary is attempting to hide [her body], imo, and it isn't working. Her hair doesn't move. Her mouth is always open way too wide, and it looks like a gaping hole in her face instead of a smile. If I was her designer, I could change her a lot of money for this critique. Even if her policies were warm and fuzzy, her appearance would still be unwelcoming and as stiff as her hair. She is not the kind of woman who bakes cookies, remember?

This. I have mentioned it before at TOP. It's like someone told her she needed to smile more and she does not know how, so she goes for the tonsil-showing open-mouth thing. I know about the not-smiley face, as I have one of the worst cases of resting bitch face in the world, and a tiny part of me empathizes, a very tiny part.

Because I do, too. A pic of me leaving for my honeymoon captured that face, looking angry when I was just focused on what someone was saying to me, all the while I was thinking "Woo Hoo! Party time!"

is pretty much de rigeur in DC and corporate boardrooms, though exceptions do exist. I think it has something to do with subliminal demonstration of control.
Can't really fault her for "trying to hide her body." She's 68 -- has a few years on me, and neither of us ever pretended to be a model. I don't look horrible, for my age, but still stick to a conservative look for business. If we older women have to err (and most of us may), I'd say a bit dowdy is preferable to "supreme of old hen."
Men's business suits, high-end ones especially, have always, under their surface simplicity, been artfully tailored, fitted, padded and interlined to conceal figure flaws. The fact that someone like T-Rump looks so awful even covered up in one suggests...well, I don't even want to brush up against that thought!
Maybe Hillary could do better, but at least she doesn't wear a marmot for a wig!

I was shooting a corporate video once in a nice studio, big green screen. The lady they brought (talent), wore a bright, lime green sweater and had green eyes. (face palm). I had to send her to Walmart to get a new sweater, and just had to fudge the "key" as best I could. I did from some nice digital background than had a darker green with some fluid movement to it that help cover it. But gosh, if you watch it on a big screen, wow, sticks out like a sore thumb.

I don't like Hilary...
But I would say, let's not be catty.
Democrats, we tried to warn you. How is that guilt and shame working out?
More a Rorschach test, I think.
Though your point is well taken.

So are the comments about Bernie's hair and suit catty?

Yes...
Smiling doesn't involve showing the world your cavities.
It involves actual facial muscles.

This essay brings an unfortunate joke to my mind:
What did you have for breakfast? Pea green soup.
What did you have for lunch? Pea green soup.
What did you have for supper? Pea green soup.
What did you have as a snack? Pea green soup.
What did you do all night?

Maybe her stylist is feelin' the bern?
That's a lack of Art Director or a bad one.
