Open Thread TU 22 MAR 22 ~
Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one. ~Stella Adler
Welcome to today's open thread. This is an example of having nothing to say, beyond a symbolic idea about the role of performing music in unusual ways. What is music to you? Does it move you or sooth a hankering for expression?
When I used to play the spring solo concert on the piano, I would freeze-up. It was like the keyboard was a totally
new experience. I gave up on that since I wasn't a performer, even if I had all the notes in my head. Stage fright.
What have you on the mind today? We would really like someone to host the Tuesday open thread. So if anyone would like to try and help with this community project, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact JtC, Lookout or myself if you can see fit to add another dimension to this free range process. Thanks!

Good morning
Between Biden's new world order speech and the US propaganda push to make more war,
I'm a bit baffled as to what can be said or done about our present state of affairs.
Have a heavy workload this week, doing electrical and mechanical projects, so won't be around
much to comment. Perhaps that's for the better. Let 'er rip.

For me music is...
friends, community, release, and fun. Saw some of my picking buddies at trade day. We've been waiting on warm weather to start a regular session again, but have been gathering on occasion. It'll take a year or so to get back to where I was musically before all this isolation.
Trade day was buzzing. When it is big and full of people seems I find less stuff than normal. Didn't buy a thing today. Washed my little car afterward. Took a $1. Three rounds of high pressure spray and one round of the foaming brush @ a quarter each. The little Geo looks better, so accomplished something.
Best of luck on your projects QMS. We're due a big storm tonight, so yesterday I cleaned out all my ditches and weeps to give the water plenty of exits off the road.
I hope someone will bite and take on the Tuesday OT. The scheduler makes it easy. Put it together when you can and schedule it to post Tuesday AM. Easy peasy. We can help.

Good morning QMS. Thanks for hosting, for the
fun art and for that Kooper & Shuggie clip - a great collaboration of two great artists, one of whom, is not nearly as well known as he should be.
Today's mental whirlpool kicked out the phrase "much of a muchness", which reminds me (or perhaps only minds me) that history is bigly echoing again. Biden has set the stage for an unprovoked attack by drawing the phony line in the sand that is intended to serve as a signal or clue that it is time for another US or US ally false flag. Obomber drew such a line and the so-called rebels immediately acted upon it, staging various false flag attacks to justify the US attacks premised on Assad using chemical weapons. In every instance Assad had nothing to gain and the rebels and rebel-US alliance had eveerything to gain.
Now Biden has issued the call or signal that it is time for Ukraine to launch one or more such attacks, of, should they fail to do so, for the 3 letter global terrorist and insurrection department of the US government to stage one. When the last part of that thought hit me I became aware of the previous echo, that I never linked to the Obomber chain, Clinton's 1998, attack on a medicine factory in Sudan which produced vetinary and pharmaceutical products and specialized in anti-malaria drugs. A legitimate attack in another country was attributed with no discernible evidence to products made in this plant. The CIA was able to "find" some chemicals which could be used in the manufacture of explosives, or in the manufacture of non explosive legitimate products, a detail which was ignored because that was not in accord with the desired narrative in pursuit of which the CIA "found" such chemical traces. Being unable to enter the fenced in plant property, they conveniently "found" said incriminating chemicals "near", but nonetheless outside of the plant grounds. Were they planted? Qui bono? We shall never know but there is no reason to suspect that they were not. This is, after all, an old tactic for the US.
So that said I contemplated all the possible responses to the coming false flag and it struck me that it was time to re-re-republish the following set of "principles". I do not suggest that one should agree with all or even any of them, nor even with the need for or utility of such a list, but here they are anyway:
To me, the emphasis is on numbah 25. For ages, for many, there has been much introspection and wailing and gnashing of teeth about the purpose of this existence. Who said that there is or need be any such? The purpose of one's existence, first and foremost, is to exist, to be a manifestation of THIS existence, as opposed to some other. That's all for now

I just checked and I haven't noticed that this has changed.

US to use Ukraine as Stepping Stone
Ain't gonna work
US can not handle Russia via Ukraine, let alone friggen China via Taiwan.
Only thing the US militaristic regime can hope for at this point is to do
extensive damage to the economies of their chosen enemies. Which does
more damage to us and the rest of the world. The Biden bunch doesn't care
about burning us in the process. It is posturing and gesticulating at this point.

Lovely art, as is your way.
I played a lot in public. Talent shows, competitions, choir accompanist, even a guy auditioning for Houston Grand Opera chorus.
I can remember playing a Bach fugue, and I was hesitant. I hit the F key...paused, then let 'er rip, lightning speed, flawless. My piano teacher grabbed me when I walked off the stage, and she said something like, "I worried when you did that false start, but had nothing to worry about at all!" We just laughed, I had no explanation. I just wasn't ready until I tried out the key action, I guess. I was maybe 8 or 9. What an idiot kid! It was fun, great, music is everything to me. When all else fails, music never, ever does.
