Bloomberg Bucks Enter the NYC Mayoral Race

What? How?

https://nypost.com/2021/04/30/democrats-in-nyc-want-more-charter-schools...? This is a propaganda piece by the NY Post

https://www.politico.com/states/new-york/city-hall/story/2021/04/29/adam... This is a push poll conducted by StudentsFirst and polling Charter School supporters. No other press is mentioning this bogus poll.

Let me explain:

In 2009 Michael R. Bloomberg spent $102 Million of his own money to buy his third term. Since Bill de Blasio's successful race in 2013, Bloomberg's money has found a way to torture the Mayor.

One very public way he did this was through his monetary support to the Charter School Movement headed by Eva Moskowitz. Her coven includes Jenny Sedlis who wrote the piece above and Andrew Cuomo, the (R) Party, and funded at least in part by Bloomberg. The driving principle has been to demonize and discredit de Blasio and return the public school revenue from the hands of The City, back to the RW Democrats and the Republicans they collude with.

Some history--In 2009 Bloomberg insured his opponents defeat by buying up ALL of the available TV time. Locally and on many networks' NYC affiliate stations. Bill Thompson could not get his message out. He folded his tent long before Election Day, which I know because I donated to his campaign and months before the voting day I did not get any more emails or phone calls.

Back to 2013 and up until the present moment NYC has suffered a barrage of negative threatening, dishonest, ads warning voters "Not to give up on Kids," for one and now unrelenting scolding about "Putting StudentsFirst." All of them were aimed at getting Control of the NYC Schools back into Albany's hands away from NYC Mayoral Control a privilege Bill de Blasio has enjoyed and done miracles withfor our lowest income schools.

Bloomberg Closed public schools and packed their students into existing schools. 460 Charter Schools were given the okay to open. Right now only 326 of them remain open. What happened in the neighborhoods that were subjected to the For Profit Movement? Nothing good.

There have been many stories in the press about how with 43 days until the first Early Voting Day occurs on June 12, that "now we are entering the TV ad and money phase."

$102 Million. That is the 2009 number. How much will the Charter School Cabal pony up this time?

The financial disclosures from the current candidates we have seen so far are miniscule in comparison. But what we have had is a campaign climate where the reach of giant money is known going in. We know what can happen.

The question for now is how, if at all, campaigns have prepared for an onslaught of Reserved, Paid for TV time that blocks out the sun. I have not seen anything about how many hours of TV time have been locked in. Let alone, by whom.

The numbers we have heard from the candidates are miniscule in comparison.

Not sure who they are backing but we get this.

@humphrey will back the least threatening to business interests, but I also do not know who that may be.

In 2020 the NY Times backed Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren. Who cares who and what they support?

In 2013 the Times went with Bloomberg clone and biggest Loser, Chris Quinn. I doubt many NY voters care about the Times, the WFP or the UFT endorsements. The last 2 mentioned haven't gotten an election pick right since David Dinkins in 1989.

@humphrey circling the drain.

Now it is down to Eric Adams and Andrew Yang in most honest journalist's eyes. 42 days until Early Voting.

@humphrey @humphrey Not the political attitude of this Twitter person.

The rally you are referring to had a large audience. Yang, whose wife is very active in the PTA has read this issue right.

Appearances by the other candidates are met with yawns and attendance by family and friends. Yang has generated great enthusiasm and sizable crowds.https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/status/1388524992615301121/photo/2

Not a perfect candidate, for sure, but absolutely awesome by comparison with the field.

@orlbucfan Nice to hear from you.

What do you think of Miami Mayor Suarez? Compared to De Santis he seems pretty good to me. But that is a low bar, if there ever was one.
