I would much rather earn money than beg or borrow, but at this point, I have no choice.

Tomorrow at 11am, I will be "officially" homeless. Last Thursday, my living / employment situation took a turn for the worst. I had to call the cops so I could get out without a physical confrontation and I've had to spend most of my stimulus check get a storage unit , to hire a couple of people to help me move my stuff into the storage unit, rent a truck to move my stuff, and then find a cheap hotel for me and my cat.

It's a long, drawn out story and I just don't have the time to explain it all at the moment.

Nutshell, the owner and his son were trying to extort my tips a customer was paying me for helping them, off my employer's clock.

If you need some work done that I can do remotely, I would rather earn that money that ask for a hand out. But if you find it in your heart to help a homeless guy out, I would certainly appreciate it.

First of all, a big PHAT thank you to all of you who have replied, and especially to those that have offered to help. I have no words to express my gratitude. I am humbled by y'all's humanity. Gives me hope!

Let's see, last night there was a huge thunderstrom that rolled through the DFW area and I wasn't willing to risk my only computer, so I turned everything off./ Heck, the fricking cable TV went out as well.

I was able to get 1 more night here at the hotel so I won't have to check out out until tomorrow morning. I truly needed one more day to prepare for my new found homelessness.

I did get a public storage unit and it's only $109 a month so hopefully I won't lose what "stuff" I have left. My wife's art is probably the most important.

A friend here in town who allows me to use her home address so I can receive snail mail, has a friend that lives a ways from Dallas but this lady has some land and off grid commune and there's a possibility they will take Gigi and I into their little community. I just don't know what types of resources like internet access and reliable electricity they will have.

But, a friend I do video work with here in Dallas is like this solar power genius. He builds his own solar storage batteries. He runs an entire crypto mining operation strictly from solar power. So, with our combined skills we might be able to help setup this community up with both reliable solar power & electrical distribution, and internet access. But until I'm able to perform a preliminary needs assessment, I just won't know much or what we can actually do for them. But it's a glimmer of hope and I take everything I can get at this point.

I'm trying to stay positive, and think of this situation as a new "adventure". The opportunity to learn how to live as a homeless person. Maybe use my video camera to document my experience and offer tips and pointers as I learn them.

Right at this moment, I'm just happy Gigi is basking in the sun light again. That's what cats are supposed to do right?

I know in my heart that if ya'll could, you would all contribute because you are all "that kind of people". Ya know, who have more than a ounce of humanity in their souls, and that gives me hope.

I'm fighting to hold back the tears, I'm such a wimp.

I know some of us don't see eye to eye politically, but you all have a sense of real humanity, and that's what makes this community so great. And I am truly grateful for each and every one of you. I am humbled and grateful to all of you.

I've got errands to run and laundry to do (how fun!), but I will check in later and give updates.

****************** 2nd Update for 3/23/21 *************************

I have been accepted to the commune! Yeah! The "plan" such as it is at the moment is to leave out Friday morning and begin this new adventure in life. I'm scare but looking forward to a radical change of life.

I've been cooped up in a fricking rehearsal room for far too long. The fresh air, sunshine and eco friendly people are going to be a great change. I just hope Gigi will be able to adapt. They have two cats in the long house already so she might really enjoy it.

I'm also going to be working on producing and launching several NFT's, Non-Fungible Tokens. The first is for a wall plaque the Reverend Horton Heat actually thew away and I found near the facility dumpster.

He was willing to sign it for the buyer, but not sure at this moment if he's still willing to do it. He is a client / customer at the studios, he's been there over a decade. Truly nice guy though.
