More Divisive ID politics
This one’s an upside-down version of Jimmy Dore’s interview with a Boogaloo Boy in which the Message got buried by the Messenger. It seemed to have spawned another epic Twitter Spat.
‘Naomi Wolf joins Tucker Carlson to warn we’ve become a Covid-19 police state. Guess which one liberals think is the bigger crime?’, Helen Buyniski, RT.com, Feb. 23, 2021
“But Wolf’s words – broadly appealing though they may be to the inhabitants of a country pummeled within an inch of its life by years of suicidal government policies that bailed out mega-corporations and waged ruinous wars while leaving ordinary people twisting in the wind – were lost on many in her audience. These zeroed in on Carlson as if he – not what Wolf described as the “merger of corporate power and government power really characteristic of Italian fascism in the ’20s” – was the real authoritarian threat.
The Fox News host joked that Wolf, a former adviser to Bill Clinton’s presidential reelection campaign, was “undoubtedly losing friends” not just by coming on his show, but by posting about the Covid-19 police state to begin with. He even admitted he hadn’t read her tweets because he had assumed he’d disagree with them, chiding his audience to “treat people as individuals rather than as stand-ins for whole political parties."
But those remarks didn’t come near encapsulating the disturbing obstinacy of some of Wolf’s followers, who flew to pieces over their erstwhile heroine embracing a pundit they had long since written off as a “white supremacist” – even extending the label to cover her, in an egregious feat of guilt by association.”
Buyniski writes of the many ironies involved, and brings Tweets castigating Wollf, and later admirers of her and Tucker.
I used to admire @naomirwolf. Now she praises a white supremacist.

@naomirwolf I’m throwing away all your books. You’ve lost my respect and admiration. https://t.co/dbP5dswCkt

We are being divided (left vs right) to keep us from having conversations about merging corporation/government that seek to control. It’s dangerous, scary and I’m so grateful for Naomi and Tucker (left/right) coming together to shed some light. Thank you

Excellent. Stand up. Fight back.

The rest is largely by way of Buyniski’s opinion, and definitely thought-provoking, agree or not. Citizens of many nations have been openly demonstrating in the street about losing their civil liberties as well as their livelihoods during the past year in lockdown.
I found the show on youtube and have cued it up to the time when Wolf speaks for about 7 minutes.

i've lost track of the various brands
of jabs, but iirc, they've all been given Emergency Approval. as Wolf said, the goal posts keep changing as well, as have the PPE mask layers and number of required jab. 'experts' claim the mRNA type don't alter one's DNA, but those who disagree are often banned from Twitter, youtube, and facebook.
quite a deal then, for carlson to air an interview with a dissenter.
i should have specified that it's been a wave of protests from Euro-nations against lockdowns, as at least in china and russia the state provides material support for that lost during the year of lockdowns.
i've kept meaning to note: holy hell, RA; what a gorgeous white mane you have! ; )
@wendy davis Where's your scientific
this: , and this. mRNA also doesn't last very long in the body,
Where's your scientific evidence that mRNA alters human DNA? That's not how it works. The sequence goes DNA->RNA->protein. That's basic high school level biology. Also see"Not me. Us."
please note that what i'd said

your take is what the 'experts' say; i'd even looked it up. but i thank you for the correction, in any event. i've even been looking at the Swiss Policy Research site on covid-19. many are adamant that this is a conspiracy website, and it may even be so. this link takes one to the most recent updates, and in my vast ignorance i can make little of it. my guess is that you'll be able to.

Too be clear the author thinks this is a hugely unlikely thing to happen. IIRC, he put it at like a .00000001% chance (or some magnitude like that). But then again there's that guy at home getting hit by the meteor.
Moderna in its own literature says their product descends from their Gene Modification Therapy program. Pfizer says something similar.

i hadn't noticed your sig line, but wasn't it earlier simply: 'the UFOs are coming'? anyway, i'd been talking w/ a member here about the possibility that compassionate visitors from across the multiverse might have pity on us...and vacuum away all the carbon up yonder (and who knows about reversing the dying coral reefs, plastics particles in the seas, etc.)
then i was laughing about stephen hawking's always swearing that extra-terrestrials would be more like the Borg or close to that.
anyhoo, we'll keep on keepin' on the best e can...until one of those giant asteroids hits our wee hogan here in the tulies.
The vaccines are NOT gene therapy.
Our genes are made of DNA. When information in our DNA is needed for some process in a cell a temporary copy of the information is made with mRNA. Individual copies of mRNA will last in a cell for a few hours to a couple of days. Then the cell breaks the mRNA down and recycles the chemical components. This same process naturally breaks the mRNA in the vaccine within a couple of days.
The vaccines with mRNA do NOT affect the DNA in our cells. The vaccines contain mRNA that shows our cells how to make a protein that is found on the surface of the virus that causes Covid. Our cells then alert our immune system to the presence of this viral protein. After this our immune systems will recognize the viral protein promptly if we get infected with the virus. This allows our bodies to start fighting the virus before an infection becomes serious.
Which ecosystem does anyone
I think it unwise to assert categorically that there'll be no ill effects from these novel mRNA procedures. A "probably" or even "a most likely" -- a better formulation.
Here's an interesting and comprehensive risk/benefit analyses.

I have another post here with a link you might want to read.
Orwell: Where's the omelette?
jezum crow,
i made it through about a fifth of it and realized i was out of my depth, even bingling for the meaning of testing acronyms like 'Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)' but the hyperlinks seemed to be pretty solid as to inept statistical analyses by Big Pharma, etc. i'd read many times the difference between 'dead from covid' and dead 'with covid'.
anyhoo, i hope those with deep knowledge of science will read it and at least some of the internal links. thank you, jim p.
Necessary Fascism
Since the start of this nightmare a year ago, the contradiction has been hiding in plain sight -- you cannot fight a war democratically. You cannot allow the ignorant masses to decide when to launch D-Day or how to prevent mass deaths from a contagious disease.
So, ok. "Science" gets to be Dictator out of necessity.
And "Science" will honorably give back the power to dictate most significant human behavior at the earliest possible moment, and we can go back to Constitutional Liberty.
Yeah, right.
I cried when I wrote this song. Sue me if I play too long.
i appreciate your
point of view, as i/m sure do most anglo amerikans. but Science evolves, and what of the new mutations? do these get covered by Moderna jabs, say? mr. wd (at 73) works for an artist colony/cum nature preserve part-time to augment our obscenely low combined SS incomes. one of his employers gave voice to the fact that they may soon require him to get the required jabs to continue to work there.
one of her friends got deathly ill from her first jab, as in my past experience, i would again. now mr. wd has weathered earlier jabs before with no ill effects, so he may have to decide soon, and i'll try not to borrow the future by fear.
thanks for weighing in, fire by fire.
I hope you get that I was being sarcastic about "science"
.
My take from when I starting posting on this board through several attempted retirements is that I do no know what the truth is about the virus, and nobody else does either as it is a novel and mutating phenomenon.
But I know a lot about bullshit and there is a shit load of it flying under the flag of "science."
The vaccine situation is a real conundrum for my wife and me as well. She is more willing than me to take the chance, but we both believe that "faith" in the "science" that has created this smorgasbord of injections from profit making corporations is fucking insane. Neither of us believe, particularly, that anybody is trying to poison us on purpose.
It is just that how can you possibly look at, for example, the election, the vote count and the inauguration and conclude -- "Yeah, we got our shit together as a society." Everything is fucked up. More fucked up than ever.
And yet the MSM and everybody who takes it seriously act like there is something wrong with YOU if you are skeptical about the various miracle drugs that have been summoned into existence at Warp Speed.
I read from Team Lockdown that my skepticism is absurd as all the "normal" processes for approving a vaccine have been followed meticulously. Hmmmph. Anything "normal" in this society is highly suspect as far as things are concerned chez moi.
Other people can have their faith in science (and the communications system that lets people know what REAL NOT FAKE science is), but I am not going to take the word of "science" on anything so inherently mysterious as the Asteroid Virus without a big honking grain of salt.
I cried when I wrote this song. Sue me if I play too long.
i reckon i hadn't grasped that,
so i thank you for clarifying it in such depth, fire with fire. i'll highlight this that mirrors my own...reflections (lol):
not only are the costs of the jabs hugely different, but the jabs are now being used as a political weapons in various nations as well, while china and russia have been donating many doses to nations suffering under USian sanctions. go figure.
this is from lockdown skeptic, bill gates detractor jacob levitch:
Well positioned argument
I thought warp speed was something they did on the USS Enterprise
That was f*ing Hollyweird. We are supposed to believe it why?
Cause the media machine is feeding it. And, we as the consumers
are expected to buy it, I guess?
Operation warp speed was not what allowed the vaccine
development to be so fast.
The original SARS epidemic around 2003 led to intense research about coronaviruses and an effort to develop vaccines against them. SARS was eradicated so there was no testing of the possible vaccines in humans, but much of the groundwork was done.
The there was a serious outbreak of MERS in 2012. This was a different type of coronavirus that killed about a third of the people with diagnosed cases. Research on coronaviruses was increased.
The only part of the research still needed for the Covid vaccines was to determine the safety and effectiveness for humans.
Ok, makes sense
thanks for the clarification.
the point was aimed at the federal response
to a pandemic that has claimed many lives.
Do understand the medical and scientific communities'
effective response, but do not agree with the operation
warp speed solution to use under-studied vaccines to
give the population a sense of recovery.
That is all.
iirc ,
I think it all makes sense, but would like an answer to gain more confidence, if that makes my request clearer.
Thanks so much for your response.
"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
Can't answer for the poster, but, FWIW, I read that narrative,
and similar ones in a few journals and magazines. Some (not all) researchers have been trying to develop an "anti-covid vaccine toolki" for quite some time now. One of the articles I read was specifically about moderna and stated that as soon as they got their hands on the genome it was semi-automatic and they had a vaccine ready for testing last February.
be well and have a good one

With the emphasis on "still needed." Pfizer's trials end in Jan 2023; Moderna's Oct 2022. No one knows the results. Given Pfizers track record maybe no one ever will know. Remember Zoloft? https://www.baumhedlundlaw.com/consumer-class-actions/zoloft-class-actio...
Orwell: Where's the omelette?
thanks for bringing
the end of trial dates, and the class action suits against zoloft. at least no one died. my head's spinning with meds that have been pulled for safety reasons, and i found this page of 35 while looking for an NSAID my niece used to hawk: Celebrex (anti-arthritis). but they never took it off the market, just added dire warning for safe amounts over a short duration.
when i was a kid i had cold sores (herpes simplex) all the time. docs had me give myself smallpox injections every six weeks. dunno when i finally quit, maybe 15 years later? now it's: 'ooopsie; sorry, those jabs have pre-disposed you to (X) cancer'. never got it, as far as i know, but then other than knee surgery 20 yers ago, i haven't been to a doc in 35 years or more.
as it turns out, the aminio acid L-lysine is the key, including for shingles (herpes zoster that doesn't erupt into blisters, iirc).
Misapplied science is the problem we
That is what good science called for. That we ignored this is a red flag.
that's an interesting
concept, blair mountain. as i understand it, the elderly, especially those with other conditions that might pre-dispose them to covid-19, are more susceptible. there've been relatively few cases in our county, save for nursing homes. otoh, the navajo nation has been rampant with cases, and many deaths, as i remember it. but many of the traditionals living in hogans have no running water, either, and are elderly.
when people come to our house, we ask them at the door if they'd like us to put on masks. most don't, but then most aren't wearing masks when they arrive. we're apt to hug one another at will, even though we and often they...are geezers and geezerettes.
some are more...ambiguous: yes masks one day, no masks another.
When people wake up
to the defacto loss of democratic rule
in this country, it will be hell to pay for
the media maelstrom of convenient
half-truth's being fed as information.
Does anyone believe this propaganda anymore?
We are being manipulated beyond belief.
Makes a clear mind wonder where this leads.
i wonder the same thing,
especially when i see Lord High bill gate's Tweet and pontificate that this will be the New Normal, and people may never be able to go to museum again (and some are selling off their publicly donated art works. gates owns stock in all the vaccines, to boot, and is positive that they're all safe, including the rather dubious Pfizer one.
i know there are several experts on Covid-19 here as well as the vaccines, but i reckon i've made it a point not to know much, but question it all, which i suppose is obvious. ; )
question everything
good point
we are being led to disbelieve.
critical thinking skills are needed

lol; you've caused me

Does anyone find it a bit suspicious
That the same Right that for decades has refused to acknowledge the true definition of Fascism - confusing Socialism and Fascism because it suited their purpose - suddenly CLEARLY understand what it is and that we are a fascist nation?
Don't EVER trust the Right people. Especially when they suddenly agree with something they've vehemenently denied creating to begin with.
closing time for me; i'm so weary i can barely see.
la luna bella is either full or...almost full, depending on your time zone. if it's a clear night where you are, may i suggest going out to see the night sky, and if you can see the milky way, remember that planet earth is just one speck on the edge of the milky way galaxy multiverse.
closing song's gotta be: Time Dreams, the last song santee sioux AIM leader John Tudell recorded before his crossing to the other side. dream of a better world if you can.
