America Has The Tinder To IGNITE a Social Uprising - Chris Hedges and Jimmy Dore (44 min)

These guys lay out the precarious position in which we find ourselves. We often ask "which side are you on?" Seems WE don't have a side, and if it appears, it will be disappeared. What a hell of a mess!

I continue to think our decision to hide here in the holler is a sound idea. I wish there was a movement. I want to think the people's party might offer a hope, but when you look at the power of big tech to literally disappear even the president, I'm in doubt.

At any rate, if you have the time, this discussion is well worth it, IMO.

@Lookout to say there is a precedent that makes it possible to undo the bar for holding office go away with a waiver. Second video: There is a precedent for impeachment after an official leaves office.
If this guy is correct, the best chance for getting Trump barred is impeachment.
I also think it is very unlikely the Senate will go along with the House.

It exactly summarizes what I have been thinking. Especially when Chis talks about how the main stream media is completely under the control of the Democrat Party. In the New York Times that he worked for you would have been fired for writing obviously bogus series of articles on subject like Russiagate. He has significant perspective on the destruction of Trump and the impact on almost half of the country, and it's not good. Social networks are utilities and it's scary that they get to censure people like Chis Hedges and Jimmy Dore. Google searches on imperialism will not return any pointers to Chis Hedges, in spite of the vast amount of his research and writing on the subject. They also bring up the fact that the liberals hate Progressives and we will be big targets for them, as we expose their obvious hypocrites. Get ready!

This interview is required watching for C99ers.

I can't offer more than what was said here. For now. You know me. Hedges have been warning us of these days for a long time. Now that it is happening he could do a I Told You SO tour. But we all knew that this was coming and now it is here. Even Hedges said the words
coup D'tat. Color revolution is another word. Were there a separate group of ex military that was on a separate mission? Reports are that a group scaled the capital building likety split and that happened while Trump was still talking. Can you be impeached for something that others had been planning for months? I don't understand how.

Here is one thing that is happening.

Surreal Photos Show D.C. In Lockdown As Inauguration Approaches

As Washington, D.C., still reels from the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, it also prepares for the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Photos this week show the city mounting unprecedented preparations against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic and civil unrest. In a city usually known for its open space and abundance of tourists, many of the scenes are shocking, revealing a capital on edge.

The National Guard expects to send 20,000 members in for Inauguration Day. There is a new 7-foot fence surrounding the Capitol, one that officials say cannot be scaled. And there’s a massive perimeter around the White House extending all the way up to K Street and down to Constitution Avenue.

The National Mall will reportedly be closed to the general public, a major change from the scene where typically thousands would gather to watch the new president being sworn in. And the restaurants and souvenir shops that are usually preparing for a swarm of tourists are boarding up windows and fretting about dismal profits this month.

Weapons have been given to the guard, but Senator Chris Murphy D also wants armed military troops patrolling the streets of DC. This should scare the hell out of anyone who is awake. That dems are calling for the military to be armed against the citizens is one thing, but for Pelosi and Schumer to be talking to the military without Trump's knowledge is another thing. Lets think about that.

Please take the time to look at the pictures and see that Razor Wire is being put on top of the WH fences. Razor wire is brutal if you get caught up in it. Yes that is the point, but seriously? I have a problem with that image.

Yes this is a must listen. Things will get worse under Biden. He has already walked back the $2,000 checks to being means tested to $1,400. Kamala tweeted that $1,400 will add to the $600 Just Like Biden Promised. Except that he promise $2k.

2 pictures shows how Capital One is being protected. A fence and concrete blocks. Plenty of more money for the military that they had to have pulled from somewhere. Maybe it came out of the missing Pentagon $21 trillion?

of death or poverty, nothing will change.

I'm not advocating for violence, I'm just pointing out a basic observation of human nature, that most people don't "act" until they feel threaten. We are not a society that "believes" in being pro-active, i.e. eliminating problems before they arise. We are a "wait-and-see" society. Let's not do anything until X time or X situation.

Now, what do I mean by this statement "Until the 1% feels the heat of death or poverty nothing will change."

The 1% needs to feel threatened. Storming the Capital is certainly one way to instill fear, which it has, but the "re-action" is going to be overbearing and it's going to impact the "left" more than the right.

In my humble opinion, the best way to "threaten" the 1%, is follow what I call the "Trading Places Maneuver", you make rich people poor people. You hit them where it hurts the most, their bank accounts.

I'll expand on this TPM concept in an essay in a day or so and we'll look at a primary T.O.. (Target of Opportunity)
From WallStreetOnParade:

Five-count felon JPMorgan Chase is shocked – shocked! – that corporate financing of “the people’s House” has led to corruption and instability in Washington. The Board of Directors of JPMorgan Chase obviously did not see money as a corrupting influence because it has boosted the pay of its Chairman and CEO, Jamie Dimon, to $31.5 million annually despite the fact that Dimon sat at the helm of this bank through its unprecedented five felony counts in a span of six years.

There will be the usual insiders crowded onto the stage,Sycophant Central, so full of themselves that the event feels a lot bigger than it is, with Biden gazing off into somewhere out there and thinking about Corn Pop, and his own hairy legs.

The soon to be Vice President of Vice ,Kamala Harris, will be giggling, thinking about the possibility of a nationwide program to jail parents if their kids miss too much school, and how it could add to the possible free labor pool from jails across the Country.
Also wondering about how long it will be before Joe's last marble hits the floor and she gets the big chair.

I am so grateful that Chris Hedges is there and finds ways to talk truths. He had really a remarkable life-story as a Journalist. Wasn't aware that he even was in the Congo and covered Lumumba and Mobuto.

I fear that so many of the younger people don't know the history anymore, same as the young don't remember or know something about the former DDR (East Germany). I myself didn't know anything about the changes in Germany after reunification and learned it just in the last two to three years.

One can only thank Dore and Hedges for what they have done, and what Hedges has done for his whole life. Amazing human being. I remember when I became aware of Chris Hedges for the first time. Meteor Blades described him as a very good journalist, but with pretty depressing opinions and sort of too negative outlooks. Since then I try to catch what Hedges says and writes. I always came up to find him to hit the truth straight on.

I just wished it would cross over to German media.

I can't stand how they don't understand what Biden is really about. I am always shocked how difficult it is to make outsiders and foreigners understand what another country's culture and political powers are about. I am very scared of the "charming witch of the West" Kamala.
I think she is a dangerous person and can't stand using her ID 'of that little black girt' she talks about. I really yearn for any political figure, who would not use their ID as political self-defining propaganda.

At least I think Hedges is one of the most honest analyst and journalist there are to me.

Thank you for your post, lookout. To me an important one. .

with sane thoughtful policy, as well as acceptance of the dysfunctional system in which we live. Being realistic does necessarily mean despair IMO.

I understand the need to believe you can affect change, and I do think that is true on a personal level. However, the US system is corrupt and broken beyond repair, and we need to start over again. I just don't see that happen until a complete collapse of the US capitalist empire...and I ain't holding my breath waiting on it.

I appreciate your thoughts on the matter.

EDIT to add:
Didn't mean to insult, just sharing Chris' view since you asked when he gets to hope. That's what he said..hope is a childish mania. Which I interpret as accepting politics is a constant struggle with no end point.

As to living a worthwhile life...I assure you that is possible even in a corrupt empire. That doesn't mean I think I can change the system. In my case it means I can enjoy nature, garden, ride my bike to town, have friends, ...you get the gist. The quality of our lives is dependent on the choices we make.
