Friday Night Photos - OT
My photo buddies have done it again... LOL
Since I don't see anything up yet now that I finally drove by, I'll toss a couple pix and open the floor to anybody that has anything. I will be in and out, as I am still working on other things too.
This is a juvenile Green Heron, probably just a week or two out of the nest. One pair nests near me, arriving late, and usually first fledglings I see are in September. The buff edged wing-coverts and streaks below (besides a few centrally on neck) tell you it is a young of the year.
Wonder how we put a break in here? So just one pic is on front?
This is a juvenile Mourning Warbler. Throat was yellow, is grayish white on similar MacGillivray's Warbler. These are a warbler of the understory often seen on the groud.
Purple Bindweed, a native of the Morning Glory family.
Pigeonberry, named for how much the now extinct Passenger Pigeons liked it. At least we still have Pigeonberry.
This is a Red-breasted Sunfish in breeding colors, one of North America's most beautiful sunfish. But most of them get pretty fancy for a few months in summer.
Hope all are doing well!

Hope this works. From my front porch.
The molting lizard was so bold, so entertaining. This is the greenery I live in and that provides me with everything from lizards to hummingbirds.

Great shots, you at least got your camera out on time
and make sharp/cool pictures. I am still not there yet.
I so regret to not have a camera ready to take a slow moting video of two Common Blackbirds standing confronting each other, legs spread out sideways, tail feathers pressed downwards on flagstone of our patio and threatening each other. A serious competition to defend each others role for dominance. I have never seen something like it. It's a pity, I could not catch that on video. I would compare it to two heavy weight boxers in the ring to face each other fiercely and threatening at each other to psychologically forcing the other to ... get lost and take a hike.

GREAT pix OTC!
I love your shedding Anole OTC! There are two types in Texas, and the U.S. I think, the Green Anole and the Brown Anole. Only the green is on the Edwards Plateau where I am but east Texas has both. The Green can be black, brown, green, and I presume the Brown does that too but not sure. Yours looks just like our Green Anole here. Funny I just photo'd one doing the same here, but yer pix are better! They were once called American Chameleon too, and of course were sold in pet shops, etc. What a great green! Love yer piney woods too, spent a fair number days bumbling around the thicket looking at birds and such.

I did not know
I love sitting on my porch and just seeing what comes up. A baby green lizard hangs around on my front yard gate. He has been named Lorenzo.

Hi, Dystopian--thanks for hosting this evening!
And, as usual, thank you for the lovely bird shots! I always look forward to seeing them.
I'm sorry that I don't have a photo to post this evening. I'll work on having one for next week. I do have a Chart--but, it would be too depressing, and ruin the lightheartedness of tonight's Thread. (It's COVID-related.)
Everyone have a nice weekend. Hope you get to enjoy some of the cool weather that's coming our way.
Stay safe and well.

Well, I'm not a photographer..yet.
But since you are hosting Dys, I hope you don't mind me posting a pic from my favorite photographer on twitter. I've thought of you a few times when he has posted yet another amazing bird pic. With your enthusiasm for birds and photography I think you'll enjoy going through his feed. Here: take a look at his most recent...
I would love to go out with him and see how he does it. Amazing stuff caught at juuust the right time. He leans a bit towards raptors, but then, there's nothing wrong with that imo...
Beautiful
Thanks! I followed him. I’m following another photographer but don’t remember his name. I’ll post if I do.

Dirt patch photos
Little eden Saturday morning. Despite everything, I always feel better after futzing around down there. I dug a big hole for another bean tower in the spring, it is harboring a nest of earthworms in leaf compost, it's alive! LOL omg I love living dirt, it lifts my spirit like nothing else. cheers

Hi eyo,
I've been wondering how you are there, in your dirt patch down the road from the river, while the fires burn. I'm glad to see you and your fiery sunflowers.
You are so much a 'jack in the beanstalk' in spirit. I love it! Thank you for the photos and your spirit which is so life-affirming.
manuka honey miracle
I am going to keep my mouth more shut so as not to regret saying too much out loud again, but what did get rid of the painful swelling was maybe the garlic caps I started choking down every day to rid myself of those evil vampires. wink wink Maybe, sort of, kind of.
Best part is I am reminded daily to send you loving thoughts and virtual hugs, staying connected via the bee energy. Right on Manuka Honey, without it the garlic would be too hard for me to swallow. Happy earworms do follow.

Thank you dearly, eyo
Here is a currently blooming manuka for you. In case you can’t see it, it is a photo of a 24 year old manuka in full pink blossom glory. And my neighbour keeps bees, who are in heaven among the blossoms.
I forgot how entertaining that film was. Thanks for the memories and fun of it.
