Whom he seems to find, how can I put this, just a bit lacking in understanding and/or a tad bit hypocritical.

Hokay, here goes:

This man has his head up his ass.

Yes, he's right about the Cheetomeister not getting the USA into any new wars of choice; but that's where his valid thoughts END here.

He can't seem to figure out whether or not he wants US intervention in the world. Example: While castigating us for Libya's hideous social conditions (valid), he demands more of the shit medicine that caused those diseases (military intervention). You can't solve a problem by application of more of the same shit that created the problem to begin with.

And he doesn't stop there. From LBGTQ+ murders throughout the Muslim world to the Uighur persecutions in China, he rants on at Americans for having the temerity to march and protest regarding conditions in the only nation whose business is theirs: their own.

His utter hatred for most of the world's Muslims, and for many Black Africans and the Han Chinese, is obvious and palpable.

It sounds to me like he wants Narendra Modi's India to take over determining our foreign policy from Bibi Netanyahu's Israel.

Exactly what form that help would take (or whether it's feasible at all) would depend on the particular problem, but it doesn't *have* to be the "same shit". In any case, I don't see where he is advocating military intervention at all.

He may be factually off-base in his comments about Arab militias killing hundreds of thousands of black Africans in Sudan (although the conflict is both complex and horrific) or he may have been referring to civil war that led up to S. Sudan's independence in 2011. Anyway, a bit hard to pin that conflict on the US.

And although he's correct in what he says about Iran, it's not clear that the US can or should do much of anything about it. In any case, the US' unceasing confrontation with Iran
just serves to ensure that the most hard-line elements are in control.

We'd be a lot better off - and so would the people in the region - if we were to make nice, or at least normalize our relationships with Iran/Syria/Russia and tell Israel and their Saudi pals to FO.

I fail to see the anti-Han thing, either. True, the Han dominate the CCP and the party has used Han migration in a targeted way to erode or erase ethnic identity in Tibet and now Xinjiang - but it's not at all clear that this is supported by all or most Han people. Criticism of CCP actions does not equate to criticism of all Han, much less hatred of them.

In any case, although he is using international examples, his general point about the manically anti-Trump/SJW/wokesters' predilection for selective self-righteousness over substance can be demonstrated about as well with domestic issues.

Such as berating Trump incessantly over the COVID-19 response yet ignoring or giving a pass to to policy disasters (such as mandating placement of COVID-positive patients in nursing homes) and corruption (Gavin Newsom's billion dollar mask deal with China - Chinese carmaker BYD has the money, California has yet to see a single mask for it) by blue state governors and mayors.

Like BLM's preoccupation with the "epidemic of white cops killing unarmed black men" (occurring at the rate of maybe 20 a year)and pursuit of the LGBTQ agenda (the black community demands more trans story tellers for kids?) to the exclusion of any attention to the toll of black on black violence which can rack up twenty dead over a couple weekends in a single US city such as Chicago or Baltimore or DC...

ok,I'll bite.

Beating the rush,as it were. Fellow seems to not see nuance in attempt to paint a lot of people with a broad brush. I dont think we are obligated to be activists for the problems in other countries, no matter how bad they may seem. We certainly dont know how valid all the things he reports are. Who knows if he represents any body but himself. I will leave it at that.

I think we do have some responsibility to help deal with the consequences of
situations which we (as a country) have had a hand in creating (Syrian civil war, for instance) and to at least call attention to and condemn gross violations of human rights.
(not to mention refraining from committing them ourselves).

As for the validity of the claims the guy is making, they are easy enough to confirm with a little research.

Who knows if he represents any body but himself.

Who says he needs to? Greta Thunberg can claim to represent the environmental movement. DK front-pagers claim to represent Progressive Democrats. BLM claim to represent the black community. But do they?

Refreshingly, this guy makes no claims to represent anyone but *himself* - but manages that pretty darn effectively.

I feel sorry for the guy, he's clearly seriously confused about

many things.
1) Though there are tons of folks asserting the Trump is the worst person ever, that's not what the protests and protesters are about. They are about the Cops and Police behavior, not Trump.

2) Shrub's war was enormously protested, before it started and while it was going on, and for a very extended period of time.

3) Might give him a bit of credit on Obama if he had anything else right, though that just shows that he doesn't comprehend partisan politics, and, very likely those protesting are not the hard core Dem devotees who say Obama as the second coming. Nonetheless, protests about Libya and drone wars were pretty minimal.

4) "Whyncha all protesting all them damn commie atrocitiess huh? Why keep harping on civil rights, Viet Nam, etc." An old old, timelessly stupid argument refuted and rejected hundreds of millions of times and that's just since the fifties. Cops, OUR COPS, are beating and shooting people here, in our towns. Protesting that, here, in those towns makes sense, it might possibly lead to change and is, at any rate, something of an ethical or moral obligation. Protesting our government's actions abroad might also possibly lead to change and is, at any rate, something of an ethical or moral obligation. Protesting what ever Benin or Kathmandu or even France is doing at home or abroad, here in Akron, or Memphis, or Petaluma cannot and will not accomplish anything whatsoever and is a pointless waste of time and energy. Beyond that, there is an overload of shit right here that needs to be changed, whatever some foreign government is doing wrong should be addressed by that foreign government's citizens, our job is to fix ours.
