Good morning!
I hope everyone is well.
I will have my first trial by phone this morning. I will not be able to see facial expressions, notice body language. I will not know if the judge is listening intently, or looking at a document. Should be a record setting cluster.
My tour bus drove past the girl from Ipanema's apartment, so we goofy tourists waved to her, just in case she was looking out her window, then we spontaneously broke out singing, if you can call that shrieking noise "singing".
Memories, we haz 'em, spurred on by a song.
"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
Good morning otc. Good luck with the trial today. I hope it
doesn't turn out to be too trying. (Sorry about that.)
Be well and have a good one.

My all-time favorite country singer.
He could pick some too.

We wanted decent healthcare, a living wage and free college.
The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.
Good morning Az. Country died a few decades ago, when
it morphed into country pop. Merle was one of the real ones.Did you notice how his birth day and date of death coincided except as to year?
be well and have a good one.

Merle was the true heir to Woody Guthrie.
The folkies all thought it was Dylan because Dylan aped Woody's style in his early years.
But, unlike Dylan, Merle was an Okie immigrant to California, just like Woody.

Good morning, el ~~
There is nothing I love more than a fresh tomato from the garden. We should have some this year, yippee!
My late husband loved Merle Haggard.
Enjoy your Monday, everyone!

Good morning RA. I too hope you get some fresh tomatoes
from your garden this year. Hope that we do too (from ours, of course).

Heard about an option to Zoom for digital conferencing
for anyone interested.
from wiki...
Jitsi is a collection of free and open-source multiplatform voice (VoIP), videoconferencing and instant messaging applications for the web platform, Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Android.[5][6][7] The Jitsi project began with the Jitsi Desktop (previously known as SIP Communicator). With the growth of WebRTC, the project team focus shifted to the Jitsi Video Bridge for allowing web-based multi-party video calling. Later the team added Jitsi Meet, a full video conferencing application that includes a web, Android, and iOS clients. Jitsi also operates meet.jit.si, a version of Jitsi Meet hosted by Jitsi for free community use.

Evidently there are privacy issues with Zoom.
Have a good one all!
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
Lots of courts are doing that.
We are in recess for an hour or so. I expect the judge to visit with the 3 kids, hopefully make a ruling without continuing this extremely awkward trial.
Unless my clients have internet, a computer, all zoom will do for me is put some client in my office at the precise time I do not want anyone from the public inside my building.
There are just no good solutions.

There are indeed **Major** privacy issues with zoom, which
I ws going to mention to you the other day and then forgot about. If you can use an alternative, you should.

I have read some awful stuff
Unfortunately, that is the order of the Texas Supreme Court.
If you wish to call them dumbasses, I will not object. It is a violation of my Code of Professional Responsibilities to do so.
Just sayin'...

Merle Haggard — of “Okie from Muskogee” fame …

Good morning lot.
He eventually got better educated and outgrew that shit, and we can't really judge his ouvre by that. I'm assuming you mean this song:

Good Morning EL
Been raining here in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains since yesterday with four more days forecasted. Woke up to the sound of pounding rain and wondered where the phrase, "It's raining cats and dogs" came from? Metaphorically, it makes no sense. But it's something I always say anyway.
Hope everyone is safe and well.

Quite an old expression (1652, with "polecats") per Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raining_cats_and_dogs
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
Good morning Anja. It seems to have pretty much
cleared up up here. Nobody knows the origin of "raining cats and dogs". There are other, even crazier locutions, but we can probably pass on all of them for now. Look on the bright side, you should get some flour in May thanks to this. Then you can make hand pies to eat out in the yard while watching the world drift by and sipping a nice pinot.
Remember to de-stress early and often and get plenty of rest.
be well and have a good one.

Sipping a nice Pinot
While watching the world go by sounds nice. I count my blessings everyday that I have a garden with lots of trees where I can escape to. Even in the rain, it's still tranquil and beautiful.

WE have a half covered patio, so we can sit in the
coveed part even in the rain, but we don't often get those warm SoCal rains, it's cold outside right now and not raining, raining would be cold+ wet and probably windy too.

You know, the rain just started up again, I almost think I
sell that idea to my wife. Sure beats snacking.

It has stopped raining. Atmospheric river. We got a LOT of rain. My garden likes it. Potatoes just transplanted loved it. No tomatoes planted yet. Best get on it. My bread came out and flour is coming with intacart today. And CA is definitely flattening the curve. Newsom is getting some Stanford antibody tests approved soon. Double-edged sword. Great if you test positive and you get to go back to work but if you do not then you are on continued lockdown. Problematic.
Making masks today. Here's the link to the one I finally chose:

Planning on using coffee filters as the filter. Also have hepa vacuum bags that I could try. I am wondering about using felted wool as a filter. Need to do more research on that.
Take good care and have a good one.

Good morning magi. My wife was done several patterns,
and sent some off for distribution already, her latest ones will go to Kaiser, I think, which sent out the design and instructions.
We picked up some more whole wheat flour Friday, but still none of our preferred bread flour. WE always keep a back up or two around, so we're ok for a little while. We have two loaves rising right now, should be ready for stretch, fold, form and transfer to proofing basket for a further 2 hr rise at about 5 pm, so finally done about 7:45 or so.
good luck with all your projects.

what is the link for the Kaiser pattern
The one I am using is from a Dr. Jennifer Tessmer-Tuck, MD and VP of Medical Affairs at North Memorial Health Hospital in MN. And she is a quilter.
These are being sent to her hospital for the staff to use. Are washable and have a pocket for a filter.
Please send me the link for the Kaiser one. Want to check it out.

Here's a link for the kaiser pattern, also a you tube for
a different pattern. Some of the one's my wife is making are sort of a combination, to make sure that there is a pocket for those wanting a pocket.
