COVID-19: the plandemic

I've written quite a bit about the "virus" and how the uncertainty still persists about case ascertainment, incidence, prevalence, lethality, etc.

If you're interested in this, consult my prior essays. If your not interested in this, please return to watching "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills".

Should I bother to list the essays here? Nah.

But don't let your lying eyes deceive you. Watch the videos linked here. Tell me about appearance and reality. Or about smoke and no fire.

In the following video is included segments concerning Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Beverly Hills, CA, which hospital I attend for health matters. I know the grounds quite well after 6 years of attendance. The dearth of passenger and vehicular traffic is so abnormal that I have never seen such a lull in the past 6 years of visitation. Where are all the soon-to-be-cadavers? The ambulances? The crowds being restrained by hordes of security? Surely, you saw them. What? You don't believe what you saw--or rather what you didn't see? I have a fine set of clothing once worn by an emperor, which I will sell to any of you, cheap.

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pIMD1enwd4] (14:00)

But wait, there's more....Er, I meant to say: there's less. Watch Amazing Polly amaze you with a hint of...well, what might we call it? PLANDEMIC. Yes, that's it.

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAnSkQojE_4] (31:10)

I leave out the placement of blame, for there is more than enough to go around. Of course, if you twist my arm, I might blurt out a few theories.

there is something quite wrong with you.

Is there? If so, what?

Alligator Ed, one of our most trusted sources of information regarding matters medical here on c99, has expressed some arguably well-founded questioning about all the hype we've been force-fed about COVID-19.

Are you saying we should believe the hype, and distrust our own lying eyes?

In either case, yours or his, I say: Let direct factual evidence, not circumstantial guesswork, guide us as to what to believe and how to act. This is not the time for FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) to carry the day.

and he has been since Day One of this event. You may trust him, but on this particular medical matter, I do not. He has been inconsistent in his perspective, and in some cases, absolutely incorrect on the science and in his interpretation of the data that's been available.

Your own lying eyes? What are they telling you? What are they telling you about the hospital workers in NYC? What are their eyes telling them? What are your eyes telling you about the Italian ER wards turned into makeshift ICUs? How in heaven's name does video of not-busy hospitals invalidate the video and photos from the ones that are horror shows?

Seriously, your "trusted" source on medical matters shows you photos of some not-overwhelmed hospitals and "touts it" (except not really, because he prefers to use sly irony to not say what he is saying, leaving the reader to infer what exactly he's implying) as evidence that you are being lied to by ... someone.

Well, you're not. The numbers are being made available. With (so far) 250K confirmed cases distributed non-uniformly across a very large nation -- a nation not incidentally characterized by extreme wealth inequality -- anyone with any sense could have told you that there would be plenty of not-overwhelmed medical facilities. In fact, anyone surveying the data could have told you that most of the hospitals in the country would not at this time be buried in Covid19 cases, their morgues overflowing, their staffs exhausted and themselves succumbing.

In other words, AE gloms onto a vid full of FUD and throws it to us like raw meat, snarking out the WRONG, INCORRECT, BOGUS implication that the vid demonstrates some sort of grand global nefariosity on the part of ... I dunno, WHO, I guess, and its masters in the New World Order.

If one is surprised that, for example, one of the very wealthiest hospitals in one of the very wealthiest cities in one of the very wealthiest states (indeed, wealthiest "nations", if viewed as one) -- a state that has publicly reported one of the lowest overall rates of infection per capita -- well ... then what wouldn't surprise such a one? The sun rising? Rain on a cloudy, humid summer day?

@UntimelyRippd I refrain from ad hominem comments about your experience, medical or other wise.

Let us take my medical Alma Mater, a location which has breathed life into this poor alligator with their own interventions. Should I say first, that your lack of intelligence is only equallalled by your lack of knowledge? No. I won't say that (although I already did). Let me tell you, a-p*, that Cedars-Sinai the place seen on video number one is the THE tertiary medical center in Southern California, sharing the title with UCLA. If any serious, pre-terminal patients from ANY cause are going to be shunted anywhere by outlying facilities. Cedars-Sinai would be the place. Did you see C-S on the first video? I did. Pandemic, my rear end. This place would have ambulances lined up to the receiving rooms of Emergency Rooms (they have several). Did you see any, a-p? Look again. Put your glass of hallucinogens down and look again.

Tell me, a-p, how many bedsides have you sat by while patients, often with family, died? Too many too count. You are are a callous a-p. I have done this more times than your miserable existence has experience has witnessed. How many ventilators have you managed, a-p YOU ARE AN IDIOT. I may get Bojo'd from this site, which I cherish. But you are an I.D.I.O.T.

Now onto facts. What did you find misleading about the video showing the true empty state of hospitals across the country being virtually deserted? Do you have personal experience at any of them as I do? Where are the throngs of dead and dying? My own small community hospital is not overwhelmed, here in the heart of California.

Do you, a-p, still find Amerika to be land of the free and home of the brave, land of mom and apple pie? What about cabals of rich people who do not give a single breath over whether you a-p, live or die? You are an unrealistic moron. Where are your unicorns upon which you travel your earthly rounds?

In my 4 years on this website, you have managed to get me angry. That takes a lot of doing. But you, sir or madam or IT, are the exception. What know you of medical science? Where are your post-graduate degrees in the biological sciences? Whom have you struggled to cure before they breathed their last? What burden do those defeats occurring when patients die despite one's best efforts trouble your soul. You a-p. Do you have any self-knowledge? I know nothing about you and this point, I desire to know nothing more about you, indolent critic of the struggles of life and death.

Do you not see the hyperbole about the enormity of our mass hysteria? Why do we not lock down the entire world for the yearly influenzas sweeping the globe? Why is this one different?

Point me to evidence that this pandemic=plandemic is anything more than a gigantic hoax, exaggerating the civilization ending of COVID-19. You can't. If you bothered to look, which I doubt,
you will find that even in Italy the death rate, although high, is proving to represent a truly low CFR compared to the vaunted Spanish Flu. This is because testing, testing, testing. So many Class B patients--you might be one. If you are infected, perhaps then you are suffering from brain fever.

P.S., how many people have you treated with infectious encephalitis? More than 20? Then, welcome to the club. Your comment, to which I reply, directly and clearly calls into doubt my intelligence, my motivation, my empathy. I spent years on the medical front lines. How many years, a-p, have you spent tending to ICU patients? How many spinal punctures have you performed. You are perfectly content to besmirch my life's work without understanding any of it. So good on you.

What have you contributed to the betterment of mankind in your life?

Life on the line? Who would place their life in your enfeebled knowledge for caring?

As sure as the sun rises in the East, you will not respond to my critique. You will not attack my essay point by point. You sir are no better than "celebrities" hiding in their gated communities. Show me examples of your personal courage. I have clearly indicated mine.

I am certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. What are your bona fides?

Talk is cheap. Stupidity, malice, and ignorance are even cheaper. Prove to me that you comprehend this global pandemic is any worse than any other, because IT ISN'T.

Awaiting your cogent, well-documented reply, which I am certain will not be forthcoming, I patiently dwell.

paragraphs and paragraphs of nonsense.

LA is not an outbreak epicenter. Nobody says it is. No numbers published anywhere by anybody indicate that it is. Only a boob would be surprised to see that LA hospitals are not buried in Covid19 cases.

And if Angelenos are lucky, that will be the case next week as well -- because that's the whole point of the social isolation regime, and LA won't be an outbreak epicenter next week, or the week after that. Regardless, the fact that LA is not an outbreak epicenter is not evidence that outbreak epicenters do not exist.

ad hominem? No, you're misusing that phrase -- you do not understand what it means. Your snarky, sly, say-it-but-don't-say-it BS could end up killing people, should it fall upon the wrong "ears". You're an MD, good for you, but you're not an epidemiologist or a virologist, and you've made multiple claims here that make it clear you do not understand the fundamental principles of either of those fields of inquiry and analysis.

I have exactly and only one question for you, derived from certain claims you have made several times: How many cases of Guillain-Barre did you treat during the mid-70s swine flu epidemic, and outside of that epidemic, how many cases did you treat on an annual basis? Realizing that you may not have kept detailed records, I'll be happy enough with +/- 50%.

@JtC Show me where in this essay I say "let down your guard" . Show me where I say this infection doesn't kill lots of people. Show me where I say to disregard sensible precautions. Show me where I tell anyone to do anything I don't do. Being over 60, I voluntarily self-quarantine. How about you, old chap? What chances are you taking spinning the roulette wheel of life and death? Show me medical evidence that this plandemic is anything more than a gross overestimation of lethality. How many have died? What is the CFR (case fatality rate). Then cite me the R0 and CFR for 2009 H1N1 epidemic. Show me how much worse this one is? Please.

Opinions are great. Everyone has one. Show me facts, buddy. Let your words soothe my fevered reptilian brain. But cushion your harsh words with facts. Facts.

Can't find any to contradict my assertions, speculative as they are. And the only reason such expressions are speculative is due to lack of wide-scale, population-wide testing.l Testing asymptomatic individuals who currently do not meet criteria set by many health departments. Not in Californication. Only symptomatic individuals and known contacts of infected person or travelers from epicenters can officially receive.

Sorry (NOT) to puncture any golden idols of Fear Unwarranted. You can't produce anything to show that this "novel" virus is any worse than any of its predecessors. Go ahead. Show me. I await.

Not every hospital and community will have the same experience with COVID-19. That does not diminish the intensity being experienced in other settings. When I was active in my health professional career I regularly worked at various facilities. Each had a different intensities of patient load at a given time. Some were experiencing overwhelming infectious disease breakouts and others nothing but routine care.

Panic does often spread faster than an actual medical condition and government can overreact. At other times, like the AIDS crisis disbelief a problem existed increased the number of destroyed lives. Most of the health facilities I worked with had no AIDS patients a very small few were overwhelmed.

In my geographical area only one hospital is testing for COVID-19. Hospitals in the other counties are referring all prospective patients to that hospital. So, yes their parking lots and hallways are quiet.

There is not a simple, single narrative. Yes, one can see the push by multiple power bases trying to push their long stated agendas during this time of change and uncertainty. There are many questions that need answered over time. The patients and prospective patients still need medical care and prevention.

gulfgal98's picture

@studentofearth from what I have read, many hospitals are not allowing what is considered elective surgery at this time so as to free up space for COVID 19 patients when needed. The hospitals are also not allowing visitors either. Elective surgery is not just cosmetic procedures, but can be surgery that is needed but does not necessarily need to be done immediately, such as knee surgery, for example.

Also, many doctors and dentists offices are currently closed or are only seeing patients on an emergency basis. My own family practice doctor and my dentist among them. As of Thursday, my county has identified only 35 cases with 5 hospitalizations but compared to only one week ago, the number of new cases has steadily increased from one or two to now several each day.

The lack of cars in the parking lot of a hospital is not a real indication of whether or not this virus is real. Ask the people of Albany, Georgia who got particularly hard hit. Albany, Georgia is about 90 miles from Tallahassee, Florida where I live. The first several cases here in Tallahassee were in people who attended the funeral in Albany, Georgia that was cited in this article.

@gulfgal98 In early phases of pandemics, cases are not evenly distributed. In some cases they will not likely be uniform. Consider the mass of infected stemming from Albany--how many filled the Tallahassee hospitals thereafter?

Let me know. Then we can discuss, in that microcosm of northern Florida how disease affects the citizens. How many other hospitals in Tallahassee were filled to the exits by the moribund? I am curious. So of the Albany funeral refugees, how many got sick? How many were tested? How many went to Critical Care?

@Alligator Ed The first couple of cases in Tallahassee were Tallahassee residents who had attended the funeral in Albany Georgia. The Georgia residents were treated in Albany, Georgia.

I can only speak to the published statistics for Florida and Tallahassee. The state of Florida publishes daily updates of cases on a statewide basis and on a county by county basis. https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/96dd742462124fa0b38ddedb9b25e429

My county is Leon County which, when compared to the rest of the state, is doing quite well so far. As of this evening, we had 39 total cases, three of which were not residents (visitors). Of those cases, seven are hospitalized and fortunately thus far no deaths. I noticed that one of the four newest cases is 86 years old, so that does not bode well. https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/96dd742462124fa0b38ddedb9b25e429

On a personal note, I am taking this very seriously.

Do you mean every death in the country?
Or every death in which the patient was tested for SARS-Cov-2, and tested positive?
Because those are two very different numbers.

And if they admitted that weeks ago, do you know whether they've changed their reporting protocol?

The normal average death rate in Italy is about 11000 per week. (Unfortunately, I don't have seasonal figures, so I can't say whether it's higher or lower in March and April.) The current rate of reported Covid19 [EDIT:] mortalities is 5K - 6K per week. As of today, they claim to have tested over 600,000, with only 18 or 19% testing positive. The criteria for testing are not clear, but it is clear that in many parts of Italy, they only test you if you're symptomatic -- in other words, anyone who dies in a hospital of, for example, cancer, and is not symptomatic for Covid19, is not being classified as Covid19. At the same time, WSJ is reporting today that there are plenty of Italian deaths that have not been identified as Covid19, even though they almost certainly were, indicating, somewhat horrifyingly, that the Italian fatality stats might be underreporting the true mortality.

In other words: You're wrong.

Dude is right, though I fear he is not.

I have had 3 friends with completely blown ankles - like water balloons blown - who posted photos of their injuries asking if they should go to the emergency room.

One of them went. These were clear no brainers for emergency treatment and my friends were scared of going to the hospital. The comments were worse.

My hometown in southeastern MI, the hospital I was born in and the whole local system are overflowing at the moment. Where it is happening, it is happening. My friends and family are terrified. The three counties around my hometown are scared. The Detroit police are infected and getting ready to go the Cincinnati route - no arrests of B&E and petty crime. Eeek.

I’m down here in Florida, locked down at a friend’s place, all of our shows are canceled - halftime shows, the Zoo, state fairs, my camps - all cancelled.

My friend does a daily update on cases and deaths in Florida his wife is an MD working in Tampa.
Screen Shot 2020-04-03 at 2.00.45 PM.png

19 people have died by noon today, half way through the day. Yesterday 43 people died. April 1 27, March 31 - 16 perished and 11 on March 30…

We are doubling cases and deaths about every 4 days. He tracks these numbers every day. This is his personal data extrapolation:
death-plot-fl.jpg
The trend line looks ominous. 163 deaths total, so far… 320 by Monday. 640 by next Thursday. 1200 the Monday after next… 2500 by the 17th. Then we get some serious numbers cooking…

And wait until everybody gets a look at the Central Nervous System infections on camera… The NYT reported on CNS infections the other day. I’ve seen several videos from China of people face-planting and seizing out in the streets.

When people see that shit, this shit about whether or not this is a hoax is going to quiet down right quick… Then we can start arguing about whether it is biological or 5g...

I do think it was a plandemic, but I think it was about culling the population and controlling the chaos of coming food shortages, rather than a hoax. YMMV. We’ll get a good look in 2 weeks. I’m seeing enough right now to know this is “actually happening”, but some are not. We can revisit this in 2 weeks.

I desperately hope to be wrong. It will be the best tasting crow, perhaps in history.

Stay safe everybody.

What leads me to believe that this is being manufactured at some level is the enormous bailout corporations got whether they needed it or not. No means testing for them. But gawd forbid we folks get one. It's abhorrent or worse that congress thinks 10-20 million people can lose their jobs without some type of income help. Alligator Ed's picture

@Jen Looks like a hands-on guy, just one of us (and maybe he is) but the homey wood-worikinglike shop, man, if that's authethentic, then that dude is my kinda guy. These days, with crisis actors and crisis managers, who the eff can one trust? Eff me (gently please) if I have a clue. Italian Hospitals being deceitfully shown as if they were in NY. White Helmets going through freshly-Sarinated city rubble without gloves or any coverings. But they did have helmets--because falling rubble during wartime is more likely to get you than Sarin or Novochok.

Da, Kameraden Tovarischi, we have a story to tell you. Please be patient, men, women, children. I, Oleg Dmitry Putin (somehow related to beloved Comrade President Putin) hereby proclaim that the truth and none dare doubt the following is truth (under PAIN of law):
This Chinese Wuhan Hubei Fort Detrick virus came from somewhere folks. We the combined alliance of CIA and CCP agree that this was brilliant plan to overthrow President Drumpf plus way to plunder the public by printing lotsa money (too many zeros to count) plus distribution to My Favorite NGO, which is Me, Alligator Ed. Yup, fellow swampers, I have been misleading you. I have pretended that the REAL Russian meddling during 206 really began in 2015--so what. I also know the Robert, the Black Swan, Müller was trying to run interference on anything Trumpian, delaying or cancelling not just select measures but favorite Dem measures. But fucking (sorry, that word just burst out of my mouth during a Tourette involuntary verbalization), unsuccessful, somehow El Buffoon Trump and his henchpersons get the economy rolling, rolling...Shit, Impeach the Bastard! Hey, Maxine, comb your doo so folks behind your rich ass can see. Sorry, for the digression. Might not happen again.

Thanks to the dedicated, though often subterranean maneuvering, indigestible Adam Schiff concocts a delirious tale of fabulous Russian insinuation into the very seams of government. Oh, Adam. My Hero! You make me soooo proud! In actuality, Kamerad Adam, it's the Ukes, not the Russkies, got their mits into you, just as much as you got your mits into them.

Oh crap. Another digression. Sorry, kinda...

But Drumpf was able to hold his peaches. Now what?! Think, Dem brain trusts (e.g. Gerald Nadler, NYC and Kamala Harris, CA, thunk and thunk as hard as they could. But Savior of the Destiny of Humankind, Wilhelm von Gates, decides amongst several options.

Allow me to inform you of WvG's cognitive processes...think...think...

A Ha!, the excited Herr WvG shouts during a momentary exuberance as may excite him (e.g., quietly releasing flatus into a room of elites, like yourself, all the while standing erect, hands crossed at the waist with patented doofus smile).

Further, on to explain Plandemic to you, we discuss Event 201. Who was a primary sponsor of Event 201? Ja, meine Kinder, Herr WvG! (click heels if inclined)

What particular items was raised only by one speaker, one who actually represented companies with vested interests of real hospitals, trying to patch real people together? Doctors, nurses, technicians. Everything else was occupied with our latest catchy phrase: "flood the zone" which means to overwhelm the competition--whether by shelf space in markets or by locations of outdoor advertising, etc. But, surely those important people, up their, all dressed nice, and clean, with nice hair, and real glass glasses full of water in front of them--you know those people got to be among the Best! because they are endorsed tacitly by Herr WvG. Res upset loquitur.

Well, if half the talk was zone flooding and 1% was what about doctors-nurses- , then what is the remaining 49%? You know. Why ask? Really. Why Did the Camel do a Fashion Run in the Hamptons prior to becoming a top-tier candidate? Hint: what is the lifeblood of politics? So the remaining 49% was dedicated to money. Money. I want money.

Damnable digression! Once again. Zot!

We got the greatest Cavalcade of potential Presidents...like...er...ah...hmmm///

Okay, fuck Bernie once again (no spine), ByeDone's our boy!
Talk about fucking stupid. There cud picked Amiable Amy. I could live with her vapidity. Not Whoizliz, though. Screech--that's her when she's not excited. When Liawatha gets wound up (spring in rear of assembly), she could break glass, gosh and golly.

Oh yeah, I was explaining why SARS-CoV-2 is a big overblown monster. Lets us compare scales of battle here. This viral thing is a battle. It is a battle between, the Noble Defenders Of Earth fight off the EVIL viral invaders from Batman's Cave. Yes, folks. It doesn't matter what geniuses let this wonder out of the box, much too late.

These viral invaders are quite serious. Yeah, some of 'em are hell-bent to send you to hell with them. But, funny thing, many of them Evil Invaders are pretty lazy. Don't mess with me, Mr. Macrophage and I won't mess with you. In other words the number of dedicated warriors in each viral cohort is small. Like in maybe the half of the U.S. population which is actually infected, as proven by testing, the other half gets really sick less than ten per cent of the time (which estimate includes the more at risk elderly population as well). So, half of the whole population is Class A + Class B. Of that, allegedly 15 - 20 % get really sick. You know, severe hypoxia. Think so?

But wait! False-faced Fauci and Perky Birx say we could have 200K croak.

Let's check the math. On TV, folks like Dr. Seheult and Dr. John Campbell are saying that 15-20 needs hospital. But of that group, about half go to non-icu beds.

Half the US Population of 330,000,000 is 165,000,000
Then we are to believe that 80% of patients are Class A.
80% X 165,000,000 = 132,000,000

Now, lets say only 15% of Class A patients get infected badly enough for hospital care.
132,000,000 X 15% = 19,800,000 in hospital

Being optimistic, lets say that only 1/3rd of hospital-bound patients who get sick enough for ICU. (other estimates are that half of those hospitalized need critical care--but let's favor optimism)
18,800,000 / 3 = 6,600,000 ICU admissions.

Are there any national registries of ventilator in use in the U.S. If we don't have them, then how will we manage in the next pandemic. The allocation will be as inefficient as current medical resource allocation is proving to be.

Damn! Another digression.

Proof of plandemic motivation (without attribution of blame): Government assumes more authority at the behest of frightened citizens: "Free, us, noble lord, of this Plague. You, my lord, are master of all you survey. You are powerful. My gratitude to you if you but spare us from this plague"

Richie Rich and Associated grab enormous wealth via Fed-->banks-->NGO-->Political campaign-->Senator or Representative or Secretary or Chairman, etc.

Rape and Plunder

We, small business people and those valuing their freedom will soon be living with a corporate acquisition on a scale not seen since the 90's. Our ability to travel is threatened. Mandatory vaccinations? Nanoprocessors injected? ID2020.

I'm sorry but you who anger so easily at the though the proverbial wool has been pulled over your eyes, must face reality.

$21T unaccounted for from the Pentagon.
Weapons go missing, untraceable
Pelosi has interest in Ukrainian weapons manufacturing business (check George Webb on that one)
Burr gets caught re-handed for insider trading. Than (choke) volunteers to appear before the Senate ethics committee, knowing full well that regardless of party, the worst punishment he will receive is a wrist slap.

Oh well.

I had my annual urology appointment last week. My urologist is on the faculty of a large med school. His office is in the hospital. They have a large four layer parking area. I had my choice of spots on the first floor shortly after 2:00. I have lived here for 30 years. In the middle of the night I have never seen the parking lot look like that.

But I know why it looks like that. They have shut down everything that is not an emergency. A large teaching hospital is virtually closed. They can't have more than 3 or 4 virus cases. It hasn't hit here. But they are saving every mask, cap and gown for when it does or when they are assigned overflow. Think about how much money a large teaching hospital loses when it's empty and still paying staff.

I was able to get an MRI of my lower back and learned that I have a protrusion pressing on my spine. I was told to call spinal surgery. Shortly after I received a call telling me the hospital had just suspended all elective surgery and mine was elective. I asked if walking was elective. I may have asked why I didn't get a vote in the election.

I have two dear friends who are MDs. They are both treating the situation as if their lives depend on it. That's good enough for me.

because they are unreal. I also don't watch a lot of videos one can find on youtube. I don't watch US cable TV news. I like to keep my sanity.

Something is wrong. Not with you, but with the facts as they are broadcasted.

Plandemic, of course, why not, or otherwise an experiment gone wrong? On purpose gone wrong? No, even Dr. Evil-Doer wouldnt' be that crazy. Or the other option would be that the virus is not that dangerous. May be it's a fake-news-demic? But I trust the virologists in Germany. I don't think they would lie.

So, what's wrong with me? If there is nothing wrong with you, something must be wrong with me?

Ok, I have the virus. That explains it. Bye. I am dead serious.

Lots of interesting dots, some important missing lines in between, but some very compelling speculation nonetheless. Videos 28.2 through 28.5 may be of interest as well, if you find this one entertaining. Video 28.1 must have hit a nerve, it was removed by YouTube. I suspect AE may have already watched the series, if not it might be right up his alley canal. YMMV.

I getting very close to the point where I'm going to ban you from this site.

One of the problems with an open discussion board is there is always at least one person that takes advantage of the situation and pushes it to the limit, for whatever reason. Probably just to prove some point.

Your posts for several months now lead me to believe that you are here to disrupt and to make a mockery of this site.

This post is a huge disservice to the medical community. Go ahead, downplay the effects of this virus. People will read this and let down their guard, perhaps to their own peril.

I find it hard to believe that one who touts them self as a physician would publish this so called essay.

@JtC @JtC but the video definitely exposes the MSM using fake footage from Italy and pretending it is NY.

No one has addressed that.

The video has some valid questions.

Also, the "rebuttal" video is troubling as it is so obviously full of lies. People go to ER rooms wothout emergencies?

People have no money for that shit. Ever sat in an ER waiting room 4 hours cuz your kid has a broken arm? ERs are notoriously backed up.

If the guy has to lie to refute Ed's video then you have to wonder who he is and who put him up to it.

Give the alligator a pass until we can see with our own eyes if there really is a pandemic.

My son works at a major hospital and he says it is empty.

April 19th is supposed to be peak.

Lets see then.

system that there are some people who go to ERs when [EDIT for precision] they don't need to their medical condition does not warrant ER care. There are three categories:
A: People who have enough money, or such excellent health insurance, that they can afford to go to the ER when it's not really necessary.
B: People whose only access to healthcare is in the ER, because of various laws requiring them to be treated regardless of ability to pay.
C: People who have enough money and/or good enough health insurance that when dancing on the fine line between "is this so bad I need to go now, or can I wait till the clinic opens tomorrow morning?" they choose the safer course.

It's odd that you are unaware of this.

@UntimelyRippd or ER rooms are regularly flooded with patients who don't have emergencies. That's not the case. Yes, it happens and it happens regularly that people use the ER when they don't need to. But that doesn't explain this away.

Now people are avoiding the ER out of fear.

Yet, still the ERs should be full of CV patients, not empty.

@Battle of Blair Mountain
There are hundreds of distinct ERs situated in hundreds of distinct ecologies, experiencing hundreds of distinct epidemiological phenomena. Pointing to an ER that is not flooded with Covid19 patients doesn't magically invalidate the reality of another hospital where the isolation units are full and spilling their overflow into the ERs. This is Western Aristotelian reasoning at it most basic.

As to the fraction of non-emergent conditions that present at ERs: In the first place, I made no claim about the numbers, so I have nothing to defend on that score. I will, however, note again that the fraction is characteristic of the socioeconomics of a given ERs service area. In a time of pandemic, rich people who might otherwise take their kid to the ER for something minor won't.

@WaterLily @WaterLily @WaterLily @WaterLily Do you honestly believe that guys lame excuse that ER rooms would go from so full my kid with a broken arm has to wait four hours being a regular occurence to the hospital is empty in the middle of a pandemic because EVERY FUCKING PERSON ON EARTH doesn't really need to visit an ER?

Now THAT is some bullshit.

Yes, people go to ER because they can't afford doctor visits. All the time.

But you'd have to inflate that number drastically in your mind to let that be your hand wavey excuse why we don't see hospitals full of CV patients.

My son works at a Tacoma hospital. He says they are so overstaffed now because people with REAL emergency level needs are afraid to go to the ER WHEN THEY NEED TO.

It's a legitimate health risk.

Meanwhile, he says, the CV cases in his hospital in the second largest city of the state where the first US CV victim was diagnosed SIMPLY AREN'T MATERIALIZING. They've had three and all three are already released.

And in the midst of loved ones dying needlessly because they're too terrified to go to an ER room when they need to, the media is giving us bullshit videos they claim show overwhelmed NYC hospitals that is actually footage from Italy shown days ago in order to ramp up the pandemic fears. Making a bad situation worse.

Are YOU paying attention to this conversation?

up

@Battle of Blair Mountain
56% of all ER visits happen outside of business hours (8-5pm, mon-fri).
40% of all ER visits the patient is seen by a physician within 15 minutes (note -- does not mean they are treated, that's a different story).
32% of all ER visits the patient is seen by a physician within 60 minutes, but more than 15 minutes
28% of all ER visits at least are deemed "semiurgent" or "nonurgent". Coincidentally, 100-40-32 = 28.

I will also note that the CDC reports that the single most common reason for an ER visit is stomach and abdominal pain, cramps and spasms. HOWEVER: Nobody in my immediate family (parents, sister, wife, kids) since I was old enough to know about it has ever visited the ER for any of that. Not even me, when I had salmonella. Therefore applying the AlligatorEd-BattleOfBlairMountain patented and copyrighted System of Smarter Than You Epistemology, this statistic is obviously false. In fact I doubt whether stomach pain and abdominal pain, cramps and spasms ever even happens -- notwithstanding my experience with salmonella, which was primarily characterized by abdominal pain and cramps (also diarrhea, which somewhat to my surprise is not on the top 10 list, suggesting perhaps that a certain level of squeamishness and embarrassment plays into people's decisions of when/whether to head for the ER).

Presumably, with so many fewer people out driving around, there are many fewer serious car accidents -- the kinds of accidents that can tie up a lot of ER staff for a long time.

Something else that becomes clear as one peruses the lists of reasons for ER visits, is that a whole lot of them are the result of some sort of chronic disease in which the patient has for whatever reasons decided that Enough is Enough.

And So Fucking On.

Pierce County (of which Tacoma is the county seat) has reported 571 cases, and 7 deaths.
King County (Seattle) has reported 2787 cases and 186 deaths.
Except obviously, there haven't been 186 deaths in Seattle, because your son hasn't seen any in Tacoma. And also, of course, only a blithering idiot might imagine that the aggressive measures to contain the spread might have something to do with why the disease isn't exploding throughout Washington, and in Tacoma in particular.

It baffles me that people can seriously posit their individual experience of what hasn't happened to them and theirs as some sort of proof that the same thing hasn't happened to anybody else, notwithstanding positive evidence presented to the contrary. In an average week in New York State, 3,000 people die. In the last 7 days, New York State officials have ascribed Covid19 as the cause of 2,400 deaths. If the rates don't ease up soon, we'll see 5,000 NY Covid19 deaths in the next 7 days. I'm wondering whether at that point some small glimmer of reality might pierce the veil of your denial.

7 dead -- and none in Tacoma, where he lives.

In neighboring King County, where your son does not work, almost 200 dead, most of them in the Seattle Metro area.

That you can without irony, in the face of this very simply statistic, describe your son as "on the front line", when the front line is very clearly 20 miles down the road from him, makes it clear that you are immune to rational discourse on this subject.

I wish your son, and your family, the best as this pandemic plays out. If we can constrain the spread of the virus for long enough to develop demonstrably effective treatments and/or vaccines, then by the time he is on the front line, it may be no big deal -- and that will be great. But if people like you had their way, his facility would have been swamped 10 days ago.

is our healthcare "system", already kills enough Americans to be considered the 3rd leading cause of Death to Americans, from simply "preventable medical errors", but there's no national response to that crisis in our healthcare system. Heck most people do not even know a "crisis" (Pandemic of PME's) already exists in our healthcare "system".

From the WaPo:

Their analysis, published in the BMJ on Tuesday, shows that “medical errors” in hospitals and other health-care facilities are incredibly common and may now be the third-leading cause of death in the United States — claiming 251,000 lives every year, more than respiratory disease, accidents, stroke and Alzheimer’s.

My wife is dead because her doctor down played her concerns about cancer. Just saying...

That vid from "Beau of the Fifth Column" is salt of the earth logic, which I don't disagree with entirely, however, we already know, governments lie, they hire or leverage "journalist" to spread propaganda, an as any good capitalist knows, never let a crisis go to waste, and they do carry our "color revolutions", launch illegal wars, and drone murder American citizens without due process. As well as other nefarious things like look kids up in cages, and I'm talking Obama as well as Trump. It's the "American Way", kill what you don't like.

We also know our own government has conducted biological weapons research, even on our own citizens. Heck, how many level 4 labs in the US has the CDC shut down, or suspended their operations? The US as a biological research team at a level 4 lab, in Wuhuan China, at the University there, which is close to the "animal market" where the propaganda has told us, is where this thing originated.

From the Frederick News - Post: (July 2019)

All research at a Fort Detrick laboratory that handles high-level disease-causing material, such as Ebola, is on hold indefinitely after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found the organization failed to meet biosafety standards.

The "testing" that has been happening has been, well, let's just say less than perfect... "Alarm and dismay"...

Many of the deaths being "reported" are people that might have the virus, but don't necessarily die specifically from the virus, ie not the "root cause" of death, which presents "skewed" information to the public. The number's of death reported by Italy are very suspect as a result of this "flawed" death count, not to mention the alarm and dismay by medical professional about the accuracy of the "tests".

This is a quite interesting video, while it's rather long (over 2hrs) I think it provides some helpful information in analyzing the propaganda around this, very real virus.

While business is getting bailed out, the rest of us will be means tested (medically induced bankruptcy) into abject poverty, if not culled by this virus first.
