Adversity Stimulates Creativity

Sir Isaac Newton in 1665-66 during the Great Plague of London left Cambridge and lived with his parents where he developed the foundations of Mechanics and Calculus.

So, what are you all planning to accomplish during your time of social distancing?

Smaller bites always make them critters easier to swallow.

Et tu. RIP. Will you perfect Nikola Tesla's particle beam weapon. Or how about a back to the future time traveling machine? If you do, make it large enough for several passengers who have their own issues to prophylactically resolve.

Bollox Minor is thinking of applying for graduate study with the Professor of Theoretical Physics at Cambridge, who's a Fellow of Newton's college: Trinity.

Also Sir Charles Villiers Stanford's 'home'.

It's very hard to find karma amongst others and it plays hell on meditation.

In our research group it took the form of "Taking A Walk in the Woods". The Pajarito Plateau of New Mexico was particularly conducive to long contemplative walks. That's partly why Oppenheimer loved Los Alamos.

I taught my daughter and now she is teaching my granddaughter to really become a part of that environment. I wish more people could disconnect and really get in touch like that.

is never wasted. We have a cat that lives at the other end of the block who spends much of his time at our house when they put him out to roam. He's usually happy for a warm body/lap to help him nap in the afternoon or go and sit with him in the back yard while he keeps watch for intruders.

Also, there's almost always something to avoid doing, so there's a skill that can be honed - - keeping free time free of things classified as "work" or "chores".

Been eating at home since several days now. Gotta get some chicken and hamburger out of the freezer to thaw.
My event on the 28th has been postponed indefinitely, so we have a freezer full of mini cupcakes and chocolate cookies; think I'll make homemade oreos with the cookies. I thought of doing a Plague Sale on the cupcakes. Lol

We've been playing Wingspan almost every night. I highly recommend it; if you don't have it there are computer versions available as well.

I’m still wondering how my life will unfold. As of today, most of my regular work/commitments have been postponed. I am lucky to have abundant outdoor possibilities, which I will take advantage of even more. My daughter and her husband had a good idea - finding games for two to play. I might order ebooks, rather than hard copies from the library. I’m just starting to wrap my head around all of this.

Today at my local beach …
