PSA: Barely Reported Coronavirus Information
Here's some news that might be useful for people. ACE Inhibitors and ARBs (used to keep blood pressure under control) and everyday ibuprofen (Advil, etc.) seem to make dying from COVID-19 more likely if you happen to get infected:
The gist is that these drugs dramatically increase ACE2 enzymes in your body, and ACE2 enzymes are what the COVID-19 virus uses to bind to cells. So, if you're taking one of these drugs, you're creating a magical golden pathway to really help embed the virus into your body.
From this non-expert, non-doctor's opinion--it's probably not wise to take ibuprofen to relieve those muscle aches and pains if you get sick in the near future (just in case it happens to be COVID-19). Also, if you happen to take an ACE inhibitor or ARB and you get sick, get in contact with your doctor right away and show them that Lancet article and get their advice. It's within the realm of possibility (again, from this non-expert, non-doctor) that stopping your blood pressure medication for a couple weeks might be wise in such a case. (Edit to add: please don't take my word, though, as I'm sure everybody's case is different--it may be more dangerous not to take your blood pressure meds! Speak to your doctor!)
On another front, it looks as though China is using an arthritis drug for some severely ill COVID-19 patients, and it might do some good:
China uses arthritis drug against coronavirus
Also, reports are coming out about how woefully underprepared the US medical system is for the coronavirus:
"We are Italy . . ."
Lastly, take a look at the following Wikipedia page if you live in the United States:
Coronavirus in the United States
The chart to pay attention to is the one right below the US map that shows Covid-19 Cases in the United States.
You'll see that chart is updated daily, and the length of the orange bars (number of cases) is getting larger and larger every day. Once that rate of increase levels off (the new daily orange bars start to be the same length day after day)--that's when we'll be pulling out of this thing. It'll be a good page to look at every so often.
Stay healthy everyone . . . apologies if any of this has been reported here before!

So, if you have fever, cough, sore throat and a snotty nose and
no testing is available, how effective are antibiotics for that person? How great are the chances that the antibiotics kill the virus, if the patient carries it without knowing?
1. nil
2. a little bit
3. quite a bit
4. all your viruses do belong to

Antibiotics kill bacteria not viruses
There are some antiviral drugs.
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
that's what I thought too, nevertheless there are
doctors who refuse to test patients with those symptoms, but they prescribe antibiotics. If the patient after having taken antibiotics recovers and has no symptoms anymore, it can't be concluded that the patient does not carry the Corona virus.
I just asked the question, because I wonder how many people might be mislead then. Especially for those who have different viruses plus bacteria infections.
Ok, I am confused.
Can you give me some names of anti viral drugs that available to buy or order in the US pharmacies? Are they prescription free?

check my essay today for supplements that might help
In the states almost all drugs require a prescription. My advice is to stay away from the doctor's office unless you are so ill you must go. There a hashtag floating around...

Which essay, Lookout?
These can be irreplaceable.
@mimi
Hi, Mimi -
Can't help re: anti-viral drugs, but as Lookout suggests,
a strong immune system is very important and something that you can work on improving.
Haven't been over to check his essay yet, I have recently discovered and have been taking Japanese Knotweed (as a tea) - it's a common and highly invasive weed a lot of places, but is very high in trans-resveratrol which has a lot of health benefits and is considered quite safe. Has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries and is pretty affordable variety of supplements available on Amazon.
Good summary and links to research on knotweed: here.
Besides Vitamin C, you might want to make sure you are getting enough iodine - deficiency impairs immune response.
Check into mushrooms! Edible: shiitake, maitake...
Medicinal: Reishi, Turkey Tail
reputable source of supplements Fungi.com
For iodine you might try Infowars , lots of other options as well, maybe someone can recommend.
Vitamin D is very helpful.

There are a lot of bad doctors
I've got a sore throat. But nothing else.
And it's been like that for weeks. I conclude: pollen, not parasite.

Antibiotics will fight a secondary bacterial infection,
which is apparently what can happen.

It could explain why older people are dying at a higher rate.
Wikipedia Coronavirus Chart
What's encouraging about the chart showing COVID-19 cases in the United States is that the death rate is decreasing despite the number of cases increasing. This is exactly opposite of what's happening in Italy and Iran. We must be doing something right, but I'm unsure what that something is.
We are testing more
I would be cautious
The Lancet link is to correspondence, not peer reviewed data. In addition, the key reference they cite (reference 4) does not indicate that ACE inhibitors increase the amount of the ACE2 receptor. It is now clear from a number of papers that SARS-COV2 (COVID-19) binds to the ACE2 receptor. That is no longer in question, but the relationship between ACE inhibitors and COVID-19 is far from clear. It has even been suggested that ACE inhibitors should be beneficial, although this is probably not true. The correspondence in the Lancet is based on co-morbidities in very small samples and the results cited are not consistent from sample to sample. A large fraction of old people have high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. An obvious question would be whether the patients that died have these problems at a greater frequency than a cohort that survived.
Immune System, Vitamins and Fever is Good!
