NSA Robert O'Brien spreads propaganda about COVID-19

to cover up Trump's slow and ineffective response to the viral outbreak. This is one of the most egregious examples of using blatant lies and propaganda to denigrate another nation.

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENxG80iLdpE&t=19m30s]
Some of O'Brien's outright lies and deceptions:

"Unfortunately, rather than using best practices, this outbreak in Wuhan was covered up."

"There's lots of open-source reporting from China, from Chinese nationals, that the doctors involved were either silenced or put in isolation or that sort of thing, so that the word of this virus could not get out."

"It probably cost the world community two months to respond."

"Health officials from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention could have been on the ground sooner."

"I think we could have dramatically curtailed what happened, both in China and what's now happening across the world."

O'Brien also roundly praises the Trump administration for their quick and effective response in spite of China's "coverup", "misleading information" and "delay in responding" to the viral outbreak. (I would recommend watching the entire video. The man is a war monger.)

Here's the truth:

The following is part of the wiki timeline of the coronavirus outbreak in China:

27 December ... almost complete genetic sequencing of the previous sample have been finished and shared to Institute of Pathogen Biology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College

30 December ... genetic sequencing report of the pathogen of a patient indicated inaccurately the discovery of Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS coronavirus) in the test result.[16] After receiving the test result, multiple doctors in Wuhan shared the information via internet, including Dr. Li Wenliang, an ophthalmologist ... The Wuhan Municipal Health Committee reported to the WHO that 27 people had been diagnosed with pneumonia of unknown cause.[31] Most were stallholders from the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, seven of whom were in critical condition. The Wuhan Municipal Health Commission also made a public announcement regarding the situation. ...

31 December ... an "urgent notice on the treatment of pneumonia of unknown cause" was issued to the Wuhan Municipal Health Center.

As a result of the official announcement of the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan immediately tightened their inbound screening processes.[36][37]
...
"Chinese state television reported that a team of experts from the National Health Commission had arrived in Wuhan on 31 December 2019 to lead the investigation, while the People's Daily said the exact cause remained unclear and it would be premature to speculate." ...

3 January ... Chinese scientists at the National Institute of Viral Disease Control and Prevention (IVDC) determined the genetic sequence of the novel β-genus coronaviruses (naming it '2019-nCoV') from specimens collected from patients in Wuhan, China, and three distinct strains were established. ...

4 January The head of the University of Hong Kong's Centre for Infection, Ho Pak-leung, warned that the city should implement the strictest possible monitoring system for a mystery new viral pneumonia that infected dozens of people on the mainland, as it was highly possible that the illness was spreading from human to human. The microbiologist also warned that there could be a surge in cases during the upcoming Chinese New Year.
...
The WHO waited for China to release information about the "mysterious new pneumonia virus".[46] The United Nations agency activated its incident-management system at the country, regional and global level and was standing ready to launch a broader response if it was needed. The WHO's regional office in Manila said in Twitter posts Saturday.: "#China has reported to WHO regarding a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The Govt has also met with our country office, and updated @WHO on the situation. Govt actions to control the incident have been instituted and investigations into the cause are ongoing."
...

8 January Scientists in China announced the discovery of a new coronavirus.

9 January ... The WHO confirmed that the novel coronavirus had been isolated from one person who had been hospitalised.[57][58] On the same day, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control posted its first risk assessment.[59] The WHO also reported that Chinese authorities had acted swiftly,[57] identifying the novel coronavirus within weeks of the onset of the outbreak, with the total number of positively tested people being 41.

The US blew the chance to get ahead of the curve by ignoring the experience of China and the valuable information that was offered by the WHO.

The following graph shows how effective China has been in getting ahead of the curve of the COVID-19 outbreak. The country is now down to zero new cases outside Hubei Province and less than 10 in the province. Unfortunately, the US is now so far behind it will be extremely difficult to contain the disease as effectively as China.

China has now approved an antibody test which is extremely advantageous because it can also tell if you have recovered from an infection. This can give vital information as to extent and lethality of the disease within a population.

It's a start. Maybe the US can obtain some test kits from China? Probably not. Trump's "Made in USA" policy will exacerbate the pandemic in the country needlessly leading to many more deaths.

Sampler of test done around the world to date. Other than the US, all these countries had free tests.

China 320,000 Feb 20 (this is why China has been so successful)
South Korea 261,335 Mar 13
Russia 76,963 Mar 12
United Kingdom 37,746 Mar 14

Sorry to beat a dead python (meat tenderizing really) but you know the answer. The Democrat Party has several useful functions

1. Acquire money
2. Acquire and hold power
3. Deflect the slings and arrows otherwise targeting the Republicrats. Ain't virtue signaling wunnerful?
4. Delude the public with dreams of hope (rainbows) and change (unicorns).

Bureaucracy, equipment shortages, an unwillingness to share, and failed leadership doomed the American response to COVID-19.

There is no serious COVID-19 Testing right now in the US because the nation's labs don't have the reagent they need to isolate the target RNA in the test samples. The reagent is on backorder from China (and blocked from import per Trump decree). It's not produced in the US.

It’s not only ironic, but inevitable that the US has become dependent on the Chinese to supply necessities of the highest order. This is the ultimate conclusion to the devastating path chosen by greedy companies to exploit overseas labour to manufacture their products.

What an awakening people worldwide are being challenged with. I always wondered what it would take to open peoples eyes. This might be one of the ways.

it's knowledge of fighting the coronavirus outbreak. Unfortunately, it was the intransigence of the US national security state that created this situation. China is their enemy and they refuse to work with the country - to the detriment of the American people.

Meanwhile, the rest of the civilized world is looking to China for advice. They have a proven track record on how to deal with this pandemic.

I'd already sort of figured out that the bottleneck on testing for CoVid-19 was the labs, but was wildly off the mark as to why. A mess that wouldn't exist if we had a national health care system. One not vulnerable to changes in administrations. As it is, the Trump administration made this much worse.

US Intel Agencies Played Unsettling Role in Classified and “9/11-like” Coronavirus Response Plan
March 13th, 2020 By Whitney Webb
...
The classification of coronavirus planning meetings was first covered by Reuters, which noted that the decision to classify was “an unusual step that has restricted information and hampered the U.S. government’s response to the contagion.” Reuters further noted that the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Alex Azar, and his chief of staff had “resisted” the classification order, which was made in mid-January by the National Security Council (NSC), led by Robert O’Brien — a longtime friend and colleague of his predecessor John Bolton.

Following this order, HHS officials with the appropriate security clearances held meetings on coronavirus response at the department’s Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF), which are facilities “usually reserved for intelligence and military operations” and — in HHS’ case — for responses to “biowarfare or chemical attacks.” Several officials who spoke to Reuters noted that the classification decision prevented key experts from participating in meetings and slowed down the ability of HHS and the agencies it oversees, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to respond to the crisis by limiting participation and information sharing.
...
While the plans of the federal government remain classified, recent reports have revealed that the military and intelligence communities — now working with the NSC to develop the government’s coronavirus response — have anticipated a massive explosion in cases for weeks. U.S. military intelligence came to the conclusion over a month ago that coronavirus cases would reach “pandemic proportions” domestically by the end of March. That military intelligence agency, known as the National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI), coordinates closely with the National Security Agency (NSA) to conduct “medical SIGINT [signals intelligence].”

@CB Why classify a matter so important like the Wu Flu which is so important in gaining control? Any ideas? I can imagine a few. One is to allow Big Pharma to get pricey meds on the market. Great. Testing will be free--if one is already sick. But when given the choice between cat food and corona, which one will the already sick and/or elderly choose? A Hobson's choice. No satisfactory answer.

@Alligator Ed
is at war with China. They are determined to damage China in any way they can. All wars start with propaganda campaigns.

The color revolution still continues in Hong Kong and we will see it being ramped up in the next few weeks as the coronavirus threat in China is reduced. I expect it to be much, much more violent in the coming year.

Hong Kong police arrest 17 people involved in explosive cases
HONG KONG, March 8 (Xinhua) -- The Hong Kong police said on Sunday that they have arrested 17 people suspected of being involved in several recent explosives cases and seized a large amount of dangerous chemicals for making bombs.

Senior Superintendent Li Kwai-wah of the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau said at a media briefing that in an operation in the small hours of Sunday, the police raided and searched about 22 spots and arrested 12 males and five females, aged between 21 and 53, for their suspected involvement in a string of cases in January and February in which homemade bombs were found in places including a hospital, the Shenzhen Bay border crossing and Lo Wu train station.
...
"In recent months we have seen a number of powerful homemade explosives triggered by sophisticated electronics relying on radio control," he said, adding that "Hong Kong has been faced with an ongoing bombing campaign that has been both violent and indiscriminate and designed to intimidate in order to achieve political ends."

Catapult the propaganda then speak about it as if it were true. How many dozens of times have we seen this game plan in America's history book?

U.S. Lawmakers Seek to Tighten Ban on Forced-Labor Goods From China's Xinjiang
March 11, 2020

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Leading U.S. lawmakers proposed legislation on Wednesday aimed at preventing goods made from forced labor in China's Xinjiang region from reaching the United States.

The legislation would require importers to obtain certification from the U.S. government that goods were not produced using forced labor by minority Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang.

The heart of the proposed Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act is a "rebuttable presumption" that assumes that all goods manufactured in Xinjiang are made with forced labor and therefore banned under the 1930 Tariff Act, unless the commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection certifies otherwise. This would shift the burden of proof from the current rule, which bans goods if there is reasonable evidence of forced labor.
...

You know, if I were the type to believe in conspiracy theories (which of course I am not) I would think that the reason the Chinese government reacted so quickly and forcibly to control the coronavirus is they felt they were under attack by some foreign enemy who was trying to destroy them. They literally went to war against this virus as if their very existence depended on it. Fortunately it had a happy ending.

China certainly has had a lot of bad luck with these pesky viruses in the last few years. (But it's probably that the Chinese don't wash their hands often enough.)

  • February 15, 2018: H7N4 bird flu. Sickened at least 1,600 people in China and killed more than 600. Many chickens killed. China needs to purchase US poultry products.
  • June, 2018: H7N9 bird flu. Many chickens killed. China needs to purchase US poultry products.
  • August, 2018: outbreak of African swine flu. Same strain as Russia, from Georgia. Millions of pigs killed. China needs to purchase US pork products.
  • May 24, 2019: massive infestation of armyworms in 14 province-level regions in China, which destroy most food crops. Quickly spread to more than 8,500 hectares of China’s grain production. They produce astonishing numbers of eggs. China needs to purchase US agricultural products – corn, soybeans.
  • December, 2019: Coronavirus appearance puts China’s economy on hold.
  • January, 2020: China is hit by a “highly pathogenic” strain of bird flu in Hunan province. Many chickens died, many others killed. China needs to purchase US poultry products.

@CB The infections and infestations you noted seem to have occurred while El Trumpo has been president. Trump is very anti-China. But in the current vernacular, the Deep State as used by conservatives and RW types means the coup plotters and their ilk.

Mitch McTurtle (McConnell) is married to Elaine Chao, born in and fluent in Chinese. Mitch never saw a Chinese trade bill he didn't like.

Then of course, is the infamous duo of JoJo and Hunter. They love China. I mean, really, wouldn't you just love it if someone dropped $1.5 B in your bank account to play with?

Other examples of Chinese bought and sold politicians of both Duopoly Parties favoring nice deals favoring the Chinese can be adduced, although at the moment I am not inspired enough to research that. I suspect that since you occasionally consult CGTN, that you might appreciate other players in the Sell Amerika to China Cult.

Now, the Israelis are not so subtly suggesting that the Wu Flu was purposefully manufactured by the Hubei Biolab in Wuhan. Don't know. With Netanyahu still nominally in charge (until if and when he goes to jail), I won't believe anything coming out of Israel--except matzohs which are generally the real deal (the bagels get too stale by the time they reach Amerika).

The Russkies have taken time out of their nefarious scheming to overthrow the US, to suggest that the Wu Flu was inserted into China by CIA Ft. Dietrich types. I dunno.

Trump's "good friend" Xi Jinping's government is saying pretty much the same things as the Russkies.
