The case against Bloomberg

Trevor Noah breaks down why stop and frisk was so bad.

Trump is coming for social security and Medicare? So is Bloomberg.

A Bloomberg administration would be like Obama's was. There wouldn't be much change from Trump to Bloomberg, but the centrists could live with it because he's just not Trump.

IMG_4065.JPG

How Bloomberg uses his money to buy people off

That is not money being wasted. It is money being spent, with deliberation and calculation, by an oligarch to buy political control and end republican self government in USA

I think Bloomberg will kick Bernie's butt. You heard it from me first. In fact he will drop out once his affair becomes known.

With trauma, first you have to stop the bleeding, stabilize the patient. Then you can take care of the broken bone. First we have to get rid of Trump.

People are saying that the most important thing is to remove Trump and then we can start fixing the country. Well guess what? We did this after Bush's tenure and we voted in Barack Obama. And 8 years later here we are with Trump because of what Obama failed to do.

How Bloomberg made poor people lives hell

Bloomberg is a more house-broken and much richer and smarter version of drumpf.

This is how Bloomberg is corrupting the democratic process. He is buying people out.

"It's a big club and...." thank gawd

IMG_4063.JPG

The rich buy people who will do their bidding.

Bottom line.

IMG_4061.JPG

the DNC is so suicidally devoted to destroying Bernie, they don’t even care how bad they make themselves look while squashing him down. The whole point of Russiagate, we will recall, was to suspend any discussion of the contents of the leaked DNC emails: the plot to derail Bernie in 2016. That part of Russiagate was successful, even though Mueller was a historic flop – We forgot about the 2016 chicanery, as if it never happened. But it did. Now it’s happening again, only with even less competent subterfuge.

Bernie would need to pick a running mate who could kick HRC’s ass in the VP Debates.

Open secrets

Bloomberg has given lots of money to state democratic parties. And you see what happened to Emily's group and Neera after he gave them $$$$. This is wrong on so many levels, but as you see people don't care because they just want Trump gone. No big deal if you get someone just like him.

to just get over what Bloomberg did to them because of Trump. People died because of it. They went to jail for no reason and many had their lives ruined. Jobs lost. Anyone who says that have either been bought off or just don't understand how bad it was.

The Kochs have done enough damage to the DP already. They funded the Clinton creatures and have been working behind the scenes on some very terrible laws.

Greenwald thinks we should send out an amber alert for Neera. She hasn't been seen on twitter since the news broke on what Bloomberg got her to do.

@snoopydawg it’s amazing to me how we are only two small primaries into primary season and people are already willing to roll over for Bloomberg. HE DIDN'T EVEN PARTICIPATE IN THESE TWO PRIMARIES!!! And yet I’m all ready seeing the resignation from some people.

My favorite justification I’m hearing so far isn’t just that he’d be better than Trump but “what about the SCOTUS? We can’t have another Kavanaugh!” Does anyone with a pulse really think Bloomberg would nominate anyone worthwhile for the SC?

Unfuckingbelieveable.

It wasn’t that long ago, the idea of Bloomberg at the top of the Dem ticket would be seen as ridiculous. But people are already trying to justify voting for the fucker. Do people really not see that he’s probably even worse than Trump in many ways? This would be a heads they win/tails we lose for the Republicans. Ffs.

@Dr. John Carpenter

It's like the primary is over and it's just down to Bernie or Bloomberg and writing off all of the other candidates. That Bloomberg is rising in the polls even though he hasn't had to answer any questions on his policies or been in a debate. This is why money in politics needs to end. The open secrets link shows how much money he has given to most states. Buying off the DNC and then they changed their debate rules shows even more how big a farce this is.

Speaking of Kavanaugh I've seen articles on how Bloomberg's supporting republicans over democrats cost democrats the majority in the senate and whola we got Kavanaugh.

Bloomberg is Trump. Both have money and have no idea how regular people are dealing with this rigged economy. But as people did during Obama's tenure they will overlook the bad things Bloomberg does just because he has a D next to his name even though he has been a republican and has a long history of supporting republicans.

"Bernie's not a democrat!" Neither is Bloomberg you doofuses! The centrists would rather vote for Bloomberg than Bernie. Go figure.

I like the content of your essay very much and appreciate it, I just feel it is difficult to follow the comments you make in between all the imagergy and videos of the embedded twitter posts. It is the formatting of your essay. And I speak only for myself. I am easily overwhelmed by images and comments in between and therefore easily tired and confused.

'Grotesque Corruption': Emily's List, Center for American Progress Sold Out to Michael Bloomberg (It was “disconcerting” to be asked to remove the chapter “because of how it was going to be perceived by Mayor Bloomberg.”)

And in a headline titled "Bloomberg’s Billions: How the Presidential Candidate Built His Influence" the New York Times exposes the corruption of two faux-progressive DNC-affiliated organizations, Emily's List and the Center for American Progress who sold out their organization's missions in return for millions of Bloomberg's influence buying:

"In the fall of 2018, Emily’s List had a dilemma. With congressional elections approaching and the Supreme Court confirmation battle over Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh underway, the Democratic women’s group was hosting a major fund-raising luncheon in New York. Among the scheduled headline speakers was Michael R. Bloomberg, the former mayor, who had donated nearly $6 million to Emily’s List over the years."

"Days before the event, Mr. Bloomberg made blunt comments in an interview with The New York Times, expressing skepticism about the #MeToo movement and questioning sexual misconduct allegations against Charlie Rose, the disgraced news anchor. Senior Emily’s List officials seriously debated withdrawing Mr. Bloomberg’s invitation, according to three people familiar with the deliberations, who spoke on the condition of anonymity."

"In the end, the group concluded it could not risk alienating Mr. Bloomberg."

And the Times on the Center for American Progress:

"In interviews with The Times, no one described being threatened or coerced by Mr. Bloomberg or his money. But many said his wealth was an inescapable consideration — a gravitational force powerful enough to make coercion unnecessary."

Related stuff here (too tired to opine myself)

Excellent presentation by Trevor Noah. However, he's South African and not AA, and therefore, may not fully appreciate that for decades the Clintons have exploited AA politicians who in turn exploit AA voters. To cite a few instances, Sister Souljah and Ricky Ray Rector (1992), both espousing tough on crime (aka black kids) and welfare reform (further impoverish AAs) in the 1990s -- then they turn around an mouth an apology to a black leader or politician and find a few coins to drop in their charity bucket and their forgiven. Well except in 2008 when Hillary dismissed her black opponent and Bill lost his cool when in response to Hillary, they withdrew their endorsement of HER.

The Clintons and AA leaders/pols kissed and made up after 2009 and were all in with HER for 2016. But a funny had happened. Fewer AAs, concentrated among younger voters, were willing to follow the lead of those AA leaders. Enough in MI that HER lost the caucus to Bernie. (The poison Flint water that HER and Obama ignored for over a year and did nothing about it was part of it.) One among HER many excuses for losing to a nincompoop was the AAs in WI (or did she say MI?) didn't show up and vote for HER (conveniently forgetting that she needed MI, PA, and WI).

So, AA leaders and pols have a lot of experience forgiving white politicians who may be able to do something positive for AA communities or at least for the AA leaders. Bloomberg has the bucks to skip all the sweet nothings promises and put cash in their pockets for services rendered: "Stop and frisk wasn't that bad, and Mike has apologized for it. Now let's all get aboard the Bloom-mobile." I look forward to some AAs coming up with a term to describe these bribed leaders and pols.

did so after he gave their communities money as this article Janis linked shows.

The Clintons did so much damage to the AA community I can't believe anyone who was affected by them would ever vote democrat again. From welfare reform and the crime bill to the deregulation of the banks, blacks have suffered tremendous damage.

I have been having fun with people who keep posting on Bernie talking up 'dictators and war criminals. I've been posting a this picture of him and war criminal, Hillary.

IMG_4060.PNG

Hillary was supportive of every war and military intervention Bill was involved with as well as her vote for the Iraq war. And of course Libya was her baby and she was involved with the Syrian coup attempt and the successful Ukraine coup. It's getting lots of likes and retweets.

the money were not worth anything. When Germany reached bottom, they had to start over and it started with a "Währungsreform" Currency reform 1948 (West Germany). (this wikipage is an automatic translation of the German language Wikipage and I don't know how bad or good a translation that is).

Basically, if Bloomberg's money can't buy anything anymore, his power would be over, and the 99 percent became powerful.

“There is only one party in the United States, the Property Party … and it has two right wings: Republican and Democrat. Republicans are a bit stupider, more rigid, more doctrinaire in their laissez-faire capitalism than the Democrats, who are cuter, prettier, a bit more corrupt — until recently … and more willing than the Republicans to make small adjustments when the poor, the black, the anti-imperialists get out of hand. But, essentially, there is no difference between the two parties.”

But, yeah, fuck Mike Bloomberg.

@Cant Stop the Macedonian Signal Trevor in April of last year I think, made it through about 30 seconds of his diatribe about Trump being the liar he is and turned it off. I'm sorry Trevor, but if you are going to scream about the lies Trump tells then perhaps look at the liars you tell us all we need to vote for.

My cynical side says going after Bloomberg and his racism is acceptable to those who write Trevor's paycheck, after all, talking about racism hardly makes a real dent in the power of our owners as long as one does not touch that pesky issue of class and just how interwoven that is with racism. Corporate America has every incentive to portray itself as anti-racist and they've been pandering about that for decades, never mind their real policies and just who they bleed money from and how their media stokes the division, talk about the racism of Repugnants and you'll get big ratings from the neo liberal pink pussy hat crowd. And God knows, the Repugnant racism is low hanging fruit, so easy to go after that while doing nothing to change the policies that help it along.

(at least the racist ones; to my amazement, there's still some Republican voters who don't treat black people like they're lesser--so how do those Republicans manage to stay in their party?)

But I think the point here is that we're not supposed to see Bloomberg as a Republican. Because he saw the light and became an indie and gave money to some Dems as well as enough Republicans to keep the Senate in Republican hands in 2018. And now he's running as a Dem, so we're supposed to see him as a Dem. Just like Dick Painter, the Bush Administration ethics lawyer who ran as a Democrat in 2018. He's a Democrat too.
