BREAKING (My Heart)
According to Drudge Report (9 am MST, Saturday 2/15/2020):
EXCLUSIVE: BLOOMBERG CONSIDERS HILLARY RUNNING MATE
Sources close to Bloomberg campaign tell DRUDGE REPORT that candidate is considering Hillary Clinton as running mate, after their polling found the Bloomberg-Clinton combination would be formidable force...
DRUDGE has learned that Bloomberg himself would go as far as to change his official residence from New York to homes he owns in Colorado or Florida, since the electoral college makes it hard for a POTUS and VPOTUS from the same state... Developing..
I'm sure you're as excited as I am by this most excellent news. Who among us wouldn't want Vice President Hillary Rodham Clinton back in service to our nation? And just think, a few drops of poison here and there, and voilà -- Madame President!!
If true, this indicates Bloomberg's desperation as he realizes that Bernie Sanders will squish him like a bug despite a gazillion dollars in Bloomie Bucks.
If untrue, this indicates Bloomberg's desperation as his struggling campaign floats insipid ideas guaranteed to gin up additional press coverage. After all, who doesn't like watching a slow-motion train wreck?
There's only one thing I need to know now. How do we alert the PUMAs?

But even if Her doesn't get the VP slot many there are gungho for Bloomberg because we can't let Putin .... something....and Trump is bad and this election isn't about policies. Oh no it's about removing Trump. Great idea. Vote for Bernie and watch Trump move out of the white house. Easy Peasy.

Chuck Todd needs to stfu and go away. After he apologizes to Bernie and his supporters for calling them brown shirts.
Again billionaires are that rich because they got congress to rig the rules for them. And against us. No one needs $160 billion when they don't even pay taxes on their profits.

If this pans out...
as implied in this essay, then IMHO, Bloomberg and Clinton have been in cahoots from the beginning of Mikey's throwing his hat in the ring. Those two running together is the apex of the Citizens United ruling. There may not be any more primaries in the future, just oligarchs buying the positions if Bloomberg's run is successful.
I have no proof, just my gut overriding my head. Although I do have reservations as to Hillary actually taking a second seat to Bloomberg.

Oh. I was hoping you'd have a silver lining.
Here's a possible silver lining -- the ugliness of this arrogant, undemocratic act wakes a sufficient number of people up that Bernie wins in a landslide. May it be.

The DNC’s new clothes.
As a side note, I’ve already seen these types using the same “you are helping the GOP” garbage in response to criticism of Bloomberg. Do these people not realize Bloomberg himself has literally been helping the GOP as least as recently as the 2018 election? Morons!

Yes, it seems Bernie's successful run
And with Bernie vs. Bloomie/Hill, we have the clearest-cut choice possible between the people vs. the oligarchy, one that shows the most deluded where "Her" belongs, as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong
but Bloomberg's run itself has nothing to do with Citizens United (and reversing Citizens United wouldn't preclude it).
This is a combination of a) allowing the unlimited accumulation of wealth and b) allowing a wealthy person to spend an unlimited amount of their own money promoting their own candidacy.
Mandatory public financing (with a strictly limited contribution of your own money, possibly zero) might help with b).

Probably won't be two shots to the back of the head and called a suicide, but Air Force One could go down (mechanical, of course), or there's supposedly been a 'heart attack gun' for some time. Think Scalia.
Of course, having him gunned down in public would help in finally getting rid of that pesky 2nd amendment. Half the country would be demanding it, and the other half would be ready for armed civil war they've been prepping for. Her Heinous would likely love declaring Martial Law on all us deplorables (she doesn't just consider Trump supporters deplorables).

The Best Veep Money Can Buy!
Mike Bloomberg pretty much puts the kibosh --
on the "insurance" notion, that commonly-held belief of Democrats and the so-called "Left" in America that voting for Democrats somehow magically counts as insurance against Republican rule, regardless of what "mistakes" the Democrats make. The "insurance" notion needs to die, and the sooner the better. Electing Democrats is not "insurance" against Republican rule.
According to the magic formula, Democrats who make "mistakes" are "centrists," but still they are better than Donald J. Trump, presumed to be the worst President evah (never mind James Buchanan or Warren Harding), and somehow these "centrists" amount to something even though they are the main reason Trump is in office. The "insurance" notion thrives when history is ignored.
Bernie Sanders repeats (and believes in) this litany, though Sanders has a valid excuse in that he would have no cred if he were not running as a Democrat and thus supporting the eventual nominee (which he did by campaigning for Hillary Clinton). We don't have Sanders' excuse unless we are running for office as Democrats.
During Barack Obama's tenure as President, the "centrists" of the Democratic Party gave up all branches of the Federal government and 900-plus state legislative seats to the Republican Party. People like to blow this off as if it didn't mean anything when it is the primary fact of political existence in America today. Barack Obama bears plenty of responsibility for having engineered Democratic Party fundraising to promote this giveaway.
True believers in the "insurance" notion try to heap their disdain on Ralph Nader's old statement that there isn't a "dime's worth of difference" between the Republicans and the Democrats. There can be as much difference between the Democrats and the Republicans as you want; the key fact is that when push comes to shove the Democrats make way for the Republicans. As long as that key fact is the rule, the "insurance" notion is BS.
The "insurance" notion is what motivates this "Open Letter to the Green Party," signed by Noam Chomsky, Barbara Ehrenreich, Bill Fletcher, Leslie Cagan, Ron Daniels, Kathy Kelly, Norman Solomon, Cynthia Peters and Michael Albert, a group which really ought to know better and which is wasting its copious free time by picking on a very small political party. It argues:
Yes, and if Trump had gotten Gary Johnson's votes in those states, he still would have won the election. Moreover, with Clinton in power, you'd still get Republican policy, only nobody would be pissed off about it because the main person in power would have a (D) next to her name. Maybe we'd have a few more wars, too. Democrats like war.
It also says:
Could we get some clarification about what the "special danger of Trump" really is? Presumably, it's that danger that didn't exist when Reagan, Bush One, Clinton One, Bush Two, or Obama was President, and since plenty of dangers existed when those guys were President, it's got to be pretty unique. I'm sure it looks a lot like the "danger" that exists when a member of the ruling class is honest about his aims rather than disguising them with a bunch of smooth talk. What else distinguishes the "special danger of Trump"? Anti-environmentalism? We got that from Reagan, so it can't be that. Voter suppression? Republicans did that under Obama too. Anti-immigrant fervor? Don't forget Barack Obama, the record deporter.
It also argues:
I'm sorry, but is global catastrophe only going to happen via a Trump re-election? See, Bloomberg puts the kibosh on this one, a Republican with a (D) next to his name. He's Trump with a lot more money and pretending to believe that climate change is real. Global catastrophe will happen under his rule. The "insurance" notion needs to die, and the sooner the better, because it has infected a lot of people who ought to know better.

Warren Harding at least
did one decent thing -- he pardoned Eugene Debs, Socialist, founder of SDA, presidential candidate that Democratic President Wilson succeeded in getting incarcerated.
(Campaigning for HRC -- the inevitable first woman POTUS -- was Sanders insurance under Hillary's regime to avoid Debs fate.)
Trump has only gone to bat for those on the right that got caught engaging in criminal activities. As second Trump term could see him going after the "Russiagate" hoaxers, but apparently that doesn't scare those DP folks enough to back the only candidate with a good chance to beat Trump.
I don't think Trump will go after the Russia Gaters
Andrew McCabe is not going to prosecuted for lying to the FBI. The justice department just let him know that he is free from being charged for it. Durham and Barr are just stringing Trump's base along with their investigation into how Russia Gate got started. Manafort went to prison while Hillary's BFF Podesta who did many of the same things got off. Why the FBI is still charging Flynn is ridiculous. His lawyer has proof that Comey and others said Flynn did not lie to them.
But the bottom line for me is if Trump really wanted to shut down the investigation into his campaign he could have had the NSA release data that showed no Russian entity hacked the DNC computers. This would have left a trail. There is more things Trump could have done, but this is a few things I can think of off the top of my head.
I have long thought Trump was in on everything that has happened because it's such a great distraction from what he's doing that the media isn't covering. Why did Obama wait 3 years to release his long form birth certificate? It was a great distraction too. Yeah I hate being this cynical, but there it is.
I totally agree.
Only a fool lets someone else tell him who his enemy is. Assata Shakur
Did Brennan lie to congress?
Again? This is what Durham is trying to find out. He told congress that he didn't use the Steele dossier in his report saying Russia interfered with the election. But Comey said that he was insistent on using it.
And remember he lied about the NSA not spying on us when it was and he knew it. So we'll see if Durham charges him. I'm betting no.
Trump said Barr could release any information on Russia Gate, but he hasn't. The folks from VIPS have spoken to a few people in his administration about how the DNC computers couldn't have been hacked and one republican spoke with Julian Assange about the emails and yet we haven't heard anything about that. But then there is Trump going after Assange too. This is just more proof of Trump going along with our hegemonic crap. The game is rigged and Trump is playing along with it.
The ninth inning is coming up and the Deep State is way ahead …

Can't find this item
anywhere, so figger it's another Drudge sludge thingy.
But this line was amusing: "the electoral college makes it hard for the POTUS and VPOTUS to be from the same state." Yes, and you might even say the Constitution prohibits it. Of course, Bush and Cheney showed how easily that is maneuvered around -- unless the exception to that prohibition is for Repubs only.
And why would Mike want to check only one dubious box when he can get two clean boxes checked with a pick that could also neutralize a couple of problem areas for him. He's donated $5m to her org fighting voter suppression. His obvious pick, if she succumbs to the temptation. And a winning one.

The most likely danger
that will arise from a Bloomberg run, especially one with Clinton attached, is that Trump will remain President. If Bloomberg and the Dems try to steal it from him, Trump will steal back. If they succeed in stealing better than Trump does, we may truly have a bloodbath in this country, though I hope that most of my fellow citizens will refrain from killing each other.

How I Lost
It's a plausible story. The DNC needs cover to rob Bernie's
rightful position as the nominee. They can claim that Hillary won the popular vote in 2016 (while neglecting to mention that Bernie would have won the popular vote, the electoral votes, and the Whitehouse if they had not cheated him in 2016.)
Be interesting to see...
whether this float helps or hurts Blooomberg's poll numbers.
Something tells me it won't give Mike the bump he thinks it will. Probably just the opposite, actually.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
I'm not so sure about that.
Many millions of people who voted for Hillary in 2016 believe the Russians helped Trump steal the presidency from her. Those votes would come along with her. We who dislike her can't grasp just how many people do like her because it seems insane to us.
We'll see...
Thing is, for every hardcore Hillbot still hanging on to the dream, there are probably two or three former Hillbots who are happy she's gone - even if they don't say it aloud to their friends.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
You may be right.
But I recently lost a friend of 15 years because I wouldn't agree that Trump & the Russians stole the election. She's a 75 year old criminal defense attorney at the Federal appellate level. She's fully prepared to vote for Hillary again, with Bloomberg being 2nd choice.
I can't even discuss politics with two of my best friends
They are furious about those evil progressive troublemakers who divide the Dems, opine that Repubs always stick together, and ignore the Tea Party that was right in their face, and that yanked their party towards fucking fascism.
Another close pal, known his for 35 years as an elected District judge, prosecutor, and powerhouse in Texas Dem politics, went on tour with Beto, constantly cautioned Beto to go to the middle, not left. He is likely to vote for Klobashar or Bloomberg. Or Mayor Pete. He hates far right, hates far left more.
We just talk about the weather, and local races, such as county races.
No Hillary voter is going to vote for Bernie.
"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
But she is hated by people in all parts
of the political spectrum.
It's pretty telling when a campaign's strategy is to encourage the worst opponent to win the other party's nomination because that will make it easier for your candidate to win. Also telling when a campaign's strategy is to keep the candidate off the stage and off camera for as long as possible, releasing carefully controlled video and images to get everyone "Ready for Hillary."
I've never seen those strategies before. They show that her campaign knew from the beginning how weak she was. At least, in the sense of being able to appeal to the public.
Now she is in some ways better positioned, as you point out, because they managed to sell Russiagate to enough people. But I'm thinking most of those people voted for her anyway. My anecdotal information would bear that out. These are the same people who made excuses for her to begin with.
What is more disturbing to me is how the media barrage has managed to peel away former Bernie voters and to create ugly impressions of him in the minds of people who should know better.

I hope the story is true as Hillary really brings out voters
in opposition, but it's hard to believe Bloomberg's political instincts are on Elizabeth Warren's level of terrible.
I think it is just chum in the water, but I can dream can't I ? Imagine Nina Turner or Tulsi Gabbard as Bernie's pick for VP responding to Bloomberg's walking talking toxic dump on heels. Delicious.
The Clinton cult won't vote for Bernie Sanders no matter what happens, so no loss there but Bloomberg and his advisors know the polls show Hillary is still seen as almost as bad as it gets in the Public eye. Including more baggage than the airline industry.
