Democracy at Work
I just returned from my Eastern Washington Caucus, to find a bunch of comments over at KOS derailing the caucus process.
This banned KOS-"bernie zombie" now-lurker unsurprisingly disagrees...
Is there anything more democratic than this? :

Here in Washington there are paper ballots, including absentee ballots, being counted in view of the participants. There is conversation and children (big and small) present. Opinions are voiced to neighbors in small circles, and sometimes shouted for the room to hear. People are given the chance to change their minds and all the while there is a paper trail..
The Washington State Democrats put on a great caucus today. In my opinion the only chance for shenanigans would come from the faithless delegate not casting their pledged vote. Given the paper record and said record being delivered to each campaign to follow up on, I expect each delegate does not cast their pledged vote.
+1 for the Pacific NW.
3:1 Senator Sanders BTW

As HRC loses caucuses, the calls go out far and wide
to scrap the (harder-to-steal) caucus process. Interesting.

But not surprising, 2andfro.
If it were votes, they'd scream caucuses! Spoiled children don't deal well with disappointment.

Just waiting for the MSM headlines.

Love Me, Love Me, I'm a Kossack
"Love Me, I'm a Liberal", by Phil Ochs, has to be one of my all-time favorite political songs. What's so amazing is that the sentiments expressed are every bit as true and relevant today as when Ochs penned the song some fifty years ago. In honor of "Little Markos" (to borrow an apt moniker from the Donald) and his merry band of sycophants, I've reworked the song slightly to make the lyrics a bit more topical. (And yeah, I know, Jello Biafra had the same idea, but what can I say - my version is better). So without further ado, and with apologies to Phil, I present:
Love Me, I'm A Liberal
by Phil Ochs (revised and updated version)
I cried when they bombed those civilians
Tears ran down my spine
I cried when they blew up that hospital
As though I'd lost family members of mine
But Saddam got what was coming
He got what he asked for this time
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal
I go to civil rights rallies
And I put down the vile GOP
And I love Reverends Jackson and Sharpton
I'm concerned for the inner city
But don't talk about insurrection
That's a tad too extremist for me
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal
I cheered when Obama was chosen
My faith in the system restored
I'm glad primary voters decided
To throw Dennis K. overboard
I respect all the LGBT folks
as long as they don't move in next door
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal
The people who live in the Red States
Should all hang their heads very low
I can't understand how their minds work
Don't they watch Trevor's hip Daily Show?
But if you talk about fighting fire with fire
I'll say we must take things real slow
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal
I read New Republic and Nation
I've learned to take every view
You know, I've memorized Bobo and Friedman
I feel like I'm almost a Jew
But when it comes to the War on Terror
There's no one more red, white and blue
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal
I vote for the Democratic Party
They want the U.N. to be strong
I go to Bruce Springsteen's concerts
He sure gets me singing those songs
I'll send all the money you ask for
If you don't make the sales pitch too long
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal
Once I was young and impulsive
I wore every conceivable pin
Even went to the socialist meetings
Learned all the old union hymns
But I've grown older and wiser
And that's why I'm turning you in
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal
